Chapter 131: Bad Day to Villainy

Chapter 131: Bad Day to Villainy

Third Person P.O.V.

This particular weekend will be remembered forever as an unlucky time to be a villain or criminal. The day people are able to once again have a glimpse of Eidolon's full capabilities, and remember why he is Earth's Greatest Hero.

The world stopped to watch Eidolon's crusade, even though they couldn't fully comprehend what was happening without the full context.

"Damn, who pissed him?" Shego watches everything through a screen while sitting in her office.

It's a testament to the goodwill he cultivated with the world that the majority of the people had a similar thought process as hers, instead of getting scared and thinking he was taking over the world.

More than one billion copies of someone who can cause unimaginable destruction, it would be understandable to be a little scared. There are Eidolons floating around every city in the world. People just need to look up and see some of them hovering in the air, or catching a glimpse of them moving at super-speeds.

At the same time, after what happened in Paris, it's not hard to guess that some villain is doing, or planning, something very underhanded, and Eidolon is searching for him.

Now, too bad that many other villains and criminals are caught in the crossfire.

Between different criteria, it's estimated that there are between ten thousand cities in the world. With one billion Eidolons, each city would have a hundred thousand copies hovering above it.

Obviously, this is just a speculation; there are many uninhabitable areas, and there's a difference between cities' sizes, too. Even so, everyone in the world can look up and see at least half a dozen of them.

The area of the planet is approximately 500 million square kilometers, which means each square kilometer would have two Eidolons, but the number would only increase, maybe triplicate, when you remember that ⅔ of the surface of the planet is water.

There's also the fact that he didn't stop duplicating himself; his copies can make more in case they need it. The problem of their low durability can be fixed by simply making two or more copies before being destroyed after performing their duty.

A strong villain attacked the city? One Eidolon can redirect the attack while making, sacrificing himself to keep everyone safe. Like a Hydra from Greek mythology.

The Eidolons are not only flying above the world to make a point, but many are making on their side quest to stop crime and catch any criminals lacking.

Whoosh

An Eidolon flies through the walls of a building, intangible and carrying a criminal who was on the run for some time. Without missing a beat, he drops him off at the closest police department.

Bam

A mugger has his head forced to the ground before a gust of wind carries him to a nearby lamppost, and a rope ties itself around him.

Thwack

A villain hadn't had the time to give a speech before an Eidolon slapped his high-tech gun away, and then another slammed him into the ground. His motivations? Objectives? No one will know.

He also saved a lot of people who would go unnoticed for some time in record time.

Someone slipped off the trail on a hike and was rescued before they stopped sliding.

A surfer was stranded on the ocean for only two minutes before he was taken to safety.

Some youngsters beating another teen are stopped before they throw the first punch.

From big things like an avalanche almost hitting a village in Russia to a purse snatcher.

It was a bad day to commit crimes.

"Seriously, who put sand on his underwear?" Shego asks on the video call she opened with Hector's close allies. A multitude of holographic screens appear in front of her.

"He hates duplicating himself this way…" Helena says "Is he neutralizing a big threat or something?"

"Was he forced to go to another universe and create those duplicates as a safety net?" Isabela asks, thinking further ahead.

"Skrulls?" Cassandra tilts her head. They recall Hector once discussing the removal of those troublesome aliens.

"Is my baby in trouble? Does he need help?" Harley asks

"Calm down, just something that got a little out of hand." Cortana finally speaks "But Master is still dealing with this easily."

"Out of hand? How so?"

"A guy he was searching used a mass destruction weapon to try to distract Master of the search… it annoyed him greatly."

"Ooh~" Now they get it.

"He stopped playing games, huh?" Shego asks

"He was not playing games… just taking it slow because he started this search a little out of the blue. Mister Sinister was a troublesome high-level threat that finally gave Master a lead to follow. He jumped on it to see how far he could go before the Villain cut his tail and went hiding."

"But the guy decided to put innocent lives at risk to get back at him… Smart…" Helena comments sarcastically

"I don't think it was some petty revenge. Mister Sinister specializes in all fields of biology, focusing heavily on genetic… Clones, powers…" Cortana explains

"He is trying to take a sample of him…" Isabella catches fast.

"Idiot." Cassandra mutters.

"Indeed, but Mister Sinister is risking it because the reward is big." Cortana nods "It's basically a cat and mouse game where the mouse is searching for an opening to bite the cat back and draw a drop of blood."

"Doesn't he have like… 54 contingencies against this?" Shego asks with a chuckle

"Yes, but the world doesn't know it." Cortana shrugs. From blood that evaporates to his hair being synthetic, all orifices are covered, and his skin doesn't shed… No one can take a sample of Hector by being sneaky.

Most would not be able to do it in any circumstance.

"But does he need help?" Saeko finally asks, a little eager for a good fight.

It takes an extra second for Cortana to answer, possibly checking on Hector himself. "No, he got this." She answers for him while Saeko almost pouts.

.............

On the Avengers Tower, at the same time Paris almost disappeared from the map, the Eidolon wearing the mantle paused, looked away, before turning back to Bruce Banner.

"I'm happy that you agreed, Bruce."

"Well… I guess one session would not hurt.". The scientist sighs "It would at least give me ammunition to say 'I told you'."

Eidolon chuckles slightly, his mind somewhere "I'm sure you will be surprised… Sorry, but I need to go. I will come back with the details."

The black-clad hero doesn't wait for Bruce to acknowledge his last phrase before taking his leave. Bruce was wiping his glasses with his shirt, and when he looked up again, Eidolon was gone.

"Oh… I guess it's his thing." Bruce shrugs "better than the people that appear suddenly."

.........…

That bomb in Paris was not Sinister's last attempt to divert Eidolon's attention. He tried multiple times to cause some collateral damage to expose the hero's weakness and to get more information about his abilities.

Eidolon knows what he is doing, but he doesn't care… Hiding only his trump cards, his copies start showing the world a multitude of powers that they couldn't even imagine.

A bomb appears in the middle of Shibuya, and this time didn't even have the courtesy of having a countdown… But two Eidolons appear immediately, one on each side, his hands extended.

The huge bomb was miniaturized to the size of an apple, and then a spherical force field encapsulated it, becoming a harmless ball of light that was then thrown into space.

Another bomb that appeared in Delhi was simply eaten by an Eidolon. His mask opened in a jagged-toothed mouth and took an impossible bite on the large bomb.

It happened enough times to really annoy the hero. His annoyance passes to all his copies, and the criminals around the world are caught in the crossfire.

In Mexico, people are taking pictures of a bizarre sight… An entire cartel was captured and was "hanged out to dry". Yes, all the members are flat and malleable as clothes, hanging on a line. Their complexions are clean and pure while they repeat things like "I will be good from now on" with silly smiles.

The clothes line extends through multiple streets, their guns and "product" destroyed.

"Someone help me!!" A killer who was on the run shouts, only his head and hands are free, while his whole body is fused with a wall. The graffiti of "killer" was painted in a nice calligraphy above him.

Multiple killers in the run suffered similar fates.

Others suffered a little worse fate, like the guy who was dismembered, zippers around his body parts, and his head suspended by a fishhook on his ear. This one can't even beg for help because his mouth is sealed by a zipper.

The reason Eidolon decided to go for an "Old Testament" approach of punishment - beyond scaring the villains - is that he literally filled the jails. Law enforcement is not able to keep up with him.

Some people also received other types of punishment… The ones that didn't commit violent crimes are now finding themselves with their secrets exposed like an open book.

Literally…

"This… this is not the truth…" A guy stammers, his skin open in pages of a book, the contents describing that he deals with child pornography.

The people around him, his coworkers, are looking at him with disgust while he tries to explain himself, the pages flapping around, not caring about his feelings. His two hands are not enough to close them. They already called the police, but they are busy.

The fact that Eidolon did it reinforces how thoroughly he is scanning the world, an extremely thin comb going through the planet. All those Eidolons combining their powers… the vision, their En… The closest to omniscience a mortal can reach.

He even rescued a hundred people from a private prison, who were at the mercy of their captors, underground. Victims of human trafficking and kidnapping.

A villain couldn't even stay in their hideout without an Eidolon phasing through the ceiling and capturing them in the middle of planning their next move.

The whole world is like that, and everyone is holding their breath while looking up.

..............

"So… Are our jobs at risk?" Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, asks with sarcasm while staring at the screens of the Helicarrier showing multiple Eidolons in action.

With a side glance, she steals a look at Fury. For the first time, she can't be sure what his boss is thinking… No, it's more like so many things are going through his head that his face is not able to keep up with his thoughts.

Like a storm of changes, twitches, spasms, and trembling.

She even decided to stop joking around in fear of him having a stroke, an aneurysm, or a heart attack… or all of them at the same time.

Looking at the screens again, she is happy that she is just a little spy who will not have to deal with all the bureaucracy that Eidolon is creating.

How many days, or maybe months, will be necessary to deal with this huge influx of criminals?

Thud

The agents flinch when suddenly a body is dropped on the floor. There, an unconscious guy in a strange suit lies unconscious…

"That is Marvim Flumm…" She says unnecessary, everyone here would recognize him.

Marvin, or how he called himself last time, Mentallo, is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with psychic abilities. He ended up going rogue after being corrupted by his power. He took a liking to the easy life of a villain who can control other people's minds.

His S.H.I.E.L.D. training and his powers made him very elusive, even when he is a priority target. He has been avoiding them for a year.

"At least he gave us a nice gift." Maria Hill comments, "It's even wrapped." She then gesticulates to some agents to take the unconscious guy to a cell. "That saved us time-"

Thud Thud Thud Thud Thud Thud

She was interrupted when more and more unconscious people started dropping in front of them.

"..." Natasha bites her tongue to not say anything.

The storm of emotions is still having a battle on Fury's face. He should be happy this is happening, but at the same time, he is a control freak… And things got out of control already.

Now they are forced to dance to Eidolon's tune; the hero decides the rhythm.

"Just take all of them away… And keep them sedated till next order without caring about their threat level." Fury commands, and the agents scurry to obey.

............…..

"We lost three bases…" An Hydra agent informs Ophelia Sarkissian.

"What kind of base?" She asks, the frown and her focused eyes showcasing her tension.

"Just some outsourced facilities, relations cut with our main operations." The Hydra agent answers in an even voice.

"Good." She nods, a little relieved "Cut all activities of our main facilities. All of them! And go full camouflage too, divert all the resources to stay hidden." She ordered in a strong voice

"For how long?" One agent asks

"For as long as that dammed hero plays as our FUCKING GOD!" She shouts angrily, "It doesn't matter how much we lost! Stay low!"

The agents and operatives visibly shrank at her tone. Opheli harrumps and turns on her heels, not bothering to look at them anymore.

'Useless bunch! If only everyone were half as capable as Lord Drakkon.' She says in her mind.

The last stunt pulled by Eidolon ruined her mood completely. They are on the edge of being caught by him; it can happen at any moment, and then their biggest advantage will be gone just like that.

The world can't know Hydra exists just yet. The time to reveal themselves is far away… it needs to be at the right moment, when they can emerge as the saviours of the world, to establish a new order.

With the actual public opinion of the heroes, with the worship of the masses, and the prejudice they would have against them… Hydra would become public enemy number 1, even if they didn't find any proof of crimes committed by them in the last decades.

Eidolon would only need to look at them and say they are plotting something, and everyone would believe him.

It would be true, obviously, but he would not even need proof. The governments would unite with him against them, maybe even other villains.

"Everything is on the brink of collapse just because someone spat on his face." She grits her teeth "If I had one minute with the responsible…"

It's almost funny that she hates the one who pushed Eidolon to do this more than the hero himself. She obviously would kill and dissect the hero if given the chance, but right now her anger is mostly directed at Mister Sinister, even though she doesn't know him.

It's a confirmation of how far Eidolon's reputation goes. Most of the criminals and villains treat the hero as a natural disaster, impossible to predict or prevent; they can only try to avoid him.

Some think Eidolon is useful, keeping the planet safe for now, till they can act on their plans of world domination or whatever. He is a problem for the future…

Unfortunately, he is a problem now.

Ophelia finally arrives at her destination, Lord Drakkon's quarters. Without knocking or announcing herself, she simply marches inside, only to see the Power Ranger relaxing on a reclining chair.

"..." The sight grates on her already annoyed nerves.

"Oh, Green Snake Nazi Lady, you may enter." He says sarcastically while she looms over him with an unfriendly face.

"Do you even know what is happening outside?" Ophelia asks, her face dark

"Yes… Justice is being delivered." he says simply

"You don't look worried…" She comments sarcastically

"Why should I?" He only stares at her through his red visor, acting innocent.

"..." Ophelia holds back a retort. Some battles are not worth fighting. "Whatever, I have some coordinates here. I want you to take the two of us there…"

"To where?"

"It's a personal hideout, only I know about it." She killed everyone who helped build it.

"Oh, that is a lot of trust you are putting on me…" Lord Drakkon comments with a strange tone.

"Hmpf, yes, I trust you a lot. Happy?" She gives him a smile, caressing his helmet.

The truth is that she knows that Lord Drakkon doesn't care. She tried to tempt him with everything she could think of… money, sex, power… The guy, for better or worse, only has his twisted sense of justice inside that white helmet of his.

So she trusts him, but not in the way she wants him to think. It's like how someone would trust a baby with a wad of cash. He has no interest in it; some unintentional damage is the worst that can happen.

"So it will be only the two of us?" Lord Drakkon asks "What about Red Serpent Nazi Lady and her nest of snakes?" He tilts her head

"They don't need to know where we are going… they can hide by themselves." Ophelia shakes her head dismissively. "And don't you want to spend some time alone with me?" She smiled sultrily, her hand going from his helmet to his neck.

"..." 'Well, their alliance is getting fragile…' "Sorry, but I'm loyal to Justice!" He declares strongly

"..." She looks at him like he is an idiot. "Whatever, just take us here. We can lay low during Eidolon's rampage."

"Fine, I can do that. But don't try anything… My body is pure." He agrees, but not before warning her.

"..." Sometimes Ophelia wants to bash open his skull. This is one of those times, it's not helping she is in a bad mood too.

"You look angry? Is this your time of the mon-?"

"Just teleport us already!!" If he were not so strong, she would have strangled him with her whip.

............….

There's also an unexpected altercation between someone that Eidolon was avoiding having contact with for now.

It happened while he was patrolling around Europe, discovering all of Mister Sinister's hideouts. An Eidolon was flying above Latveria when he was suddenly attacked by a blast of energy from below.

"..." The copy looks down with calm eyes. The green laser, brimming with lightning approaching him in slow motion to his eyes.

It seems the great Victor Von Doom takes offense when people fly over his head.

That was not the first time that Eidolon flew above Latveria, but the influx is much higher now. He also never entered the country, not because he is scared… But Latveria is such a small, tight dictatorship that he has nothing to do as a hero there. Unless he wants to overthrow it.

Despite being a tyrant, Doom keeps his people safe.

This Eidolon then calmly raises his hand to meet the attack… One thing about fighting Eidolon is that attacking from great distances is equally ineffective as trying to win a fist fight against him.

His reaction time and his arsenal of powers are simply too great to be hit like that.

So the attack coming from Doom's castle, a dozen miles away from him, was easily dealt with a wave of his hand. A big portal opens beneath him, and the car-thick attack goes through it.

The circular portal, provenient from a power he took from Voyd in the Incredible's world, has become very unstable but does its job.

Miles away, a similar portal appears above Doom's castle, and the same attack gets out of it like a smite from the heavens.

Boom Woooonnn

But a green forcefield covers the castle, and the attack was absorbed harmlessly.

"I'm a little busy right now." The copy of Eidolon says, not caring if Doom can see or hear him, and continues on his path.

No other attack happens, so it seems the two found an understanding, neither of them really wanting to engage in an all-out fight right here and right now.

Doom may be thinking that it is beneath him to humor a copy of Eidolon and take it seriously, but at the same time, he couldn't help himself in testing it a little.

Eidolon doesn't have the time, but if Doom pressed, he was ready to throw hands. His mood was not that great now.

The Eidolon, wearing a mantle, one of the real bodies, was ready to change course and go to Latveria.

But thankfully for the world, things didn't escalate, and he continued, finally arriving at his destination.

..............

The many Eidolons, little by little, close the net around Mister Sinister.

The hideouts and laboratories that he finds start to appear increasingly important, that even the villain hesitates in simply blowing it in the air. But the resistance increased.

Unfortunately for him, his defenses are not Eidolon-proofed.

A laboratory filled with clones of Sinister is on high alert…

Buchi Buchi Buchi Buchi

The clones explode in mists of gore, instantly dying when dozens of Eidolons invade the place.

"An overwhelming telepathic attack with your hivemind?" An Eidolon chuckles

"It would work in any other person…" Another Eidolon says, hovering above a still living clone of Sinister.

"Probably." Another complete

Beyond the battle in the material plane, there's an all-out psychic war between Sinister and Eidolon.

"He got his hands on the schematics of the Cerebro." An Eidolon says, his eyes narrowing in concentration because of the strain of the attack.

"It will be bad if he gets information on the minds of the copies… We are nerfed, after all." Another one says

"Just kill yourself if you feel that you are losing." Another scoffs

"The problem is when he concentrates thousands of minds in just one of us." The Eidolon, with his eyes narrowed, comments, he is the one receiving the wave of attacks "But it also gives a breach to get information… I think he only has some thousands of clones more."

"It's expected, cloning is not cheap… he couldn't have stocked that much even if he lived for a century." An Eidolon says

"Let's link our minds again…"

"We can track their linchpin if we trade information."

"Let's bombard him with brainrot."

"Mental warfare."

"Who wants to send a random dick pic to him?"

"Send 10 hours of Teio singing ballin."

"He doesn't deserve that; it's good for him."

"10 hours of cringe anime rap."

"The Star Wars sequel."

"Rick roll him."

"It will not matter if they know who is the original between us anyway." An Eidolon shrugs his shoulder.

"He comes the explosion, guys." One warns

"Should we dodge?"

"Nah, we lived too much already…"

"Existence is pain…"

BOOOOM

............…

Mister Sinister's main laboratories change over time. Never staying in one place for long. Sometimes he is underwater, sometimes in orbit, sometimes inside a volcano, etc.

A select number of Marvel fans will also know that "Mister Sinister" is not "all" of "Nathaniel Essex". But that is a subject to be addressed in the future. After all, "Doctor Stasis", "Orbis Stellaris", and even "Mother Righteous" are out of the board at the moment.

Not even Eidolon has this meta-knowledge, but he always feels that there would always be something beyond.

Right now, he is not thinking much about the future. He doesn't care if he will kill Sinister or set back his schmees a hundred years, the guy has to suffer a little. He has been thinking of himself as untouchable for too long a time.

It's time to remember that he is human.

The actual main laboratory of Mister Sinister is an inconspicuous, hidden island, invisible to almost everything. It is not on the map; there are holographic projections around it to hide from view, and an electromagnetic interference field around the whole place.

One can't find this island by satellite, boat, or even by accident.

It's almost entirely cut off from the rest of the world. Mister Sinister uses a layered teleportation method to move in and out of it. His clones, of course. He never leaves in body.

To reach this place, or even to acquire its coordinates, one needs to reach another hideout. A place heavily guarded by Sinister clones, machinery, and his group of mercenaries… the Marauders.

And this place was just invaded by three Eidolons that are already face-to-face with the group of Metas that does Mister Sinister's bidding.

North of Europe, a place close to where Norway, Finland, and Sweden meet. Behind the mountains that one would be able to see from the Three Country Cairn, exists the base of operations of the Marauders.

Amidst the mountains, the hidden base lost its camouflage, buildings are already half destroyed, clone bodies torn, and any defense mechanisms are shattered.

Basically, only the marauders are standing, facing the three Eidolon hovering above them in different poses, all looking unbothered in different ways.

"Those clones should be weaker, right?" Cecilia Reyes, a brown-skinned meta, says while gulping "We should be able to win…" Despite trying to look confident, she can't because of her trembling voice.

"We can only try." The famous Gambit rolls a card between his fingers, trying to relax

"Yeah, it's possible." Mastermind, a middle-aged man, stays close to his daughter, and even if he says that, he is already planning to escape with his daughter using his illusion powers in the chaos.

"STOP PUSSYFOOTING AROUND HIM, YOU BITHCES!!" Marco Delgado, a very muscular bald man, shouts, crashing a big fist on the hand to hype himself "We will discover when we fight!!!"

Flap

The hype is short-lived…

The sound is accompanied by the slow descent of a newcomer, not really new because he was already there… Another Eidolon appeared… But this one is wearing his famous mantle.

"..."

The image dark mantle that is made of solid shadows and sewn by starlight billowing on the wind almost pokes holes in the eyes of the Marauders.

The main one is here.

Not only that, they can immediately feel the difference in intensity; there's an extra air of pressure emanating from the real Eidolon. He looks down on them calmly, like he is just watching a group of strange people passing over him on the street. No sign of aggression, or if a fight is about to happen.

His ever-changing eyes stay a little longer on Gambit, Cecilia, and Vertigo, the ones that he recognizes. All the rest? He has no clue; they are not in the library of his meta-knowledge.

And only Mastermind, his daughter, Riptide, and Neophyte exist on the database he got in Miles Universe. 'It's really not that reliable… Who are those randoms?'

This creates a little problem because Gambit and Neophyte are guys that can be reformed, Cecilia was part of the X-Men, and Vertigo is just a small villain. A very diverse group of low-level threats.

So the rest: Suvik Senyaka, Barnacle, Katu, Mellencamp, Rem-Ram, Spoor, Static, Delgado… All of them are unknown to him.

"I will give you all one chance only…" Eidolon states calmly, his voice is not loud but appears to be carried by the wind and reaches them like he is talking just in front of them "I can consider Sinister the real villains, giving you all the benefit of the doubt… You could have been manipulated, brainwashed, or just hired."

"..."

"Stay down, let me capture you, and I will investigate by myself how deep your crimes and intentions are… Then I will give you all a fair judgment." He says, still calm, sure of himself.

How words are more to Gambit and Neophyte, but he wouldn't mind if the rest take them.

Some immediately consider taking on the offer, the only things holding them tongue from speaking out is their brain that is going through all of their actions in the past to remember how bad they are.

Unfortunately for the Marauders, a certain someone is not even thinking about it and has made the choice for them.

Suvik Senyaka is an evil-looking and muscular man, wearing light armor and with a cloth wrapped around his head. He is an evil man molded by his power, exactly like how Eidolon once explained that can happen.

His meta ability allows him to kill people by absorbing their lifeforce through physical contact, very similar to Rogue. His advantage is that he can turn it off, but he loses to her in the fact that he can only use the lifeforce to heal himself or extend his lifespan. No increase in strength or absorption of powers, expertise, memories, or personality.

Thanks to his power and his upbringing, he thought that it was his mission in life to end people's lives, becoming a hunter and mercenary.

He has a secondary meta-ability that allows him to create psionic whips, which he uses to strangle his victims while draining them till they are empty shells.

"I CAN SMELL DEATH ON YOUUUU!!!" He shouts almost maniacally. Another application of his power "HOW MANY YOU KILLED?! TEN THOUSAND? A HUNDRED? A MILLION??? MORE???" He is laughing.

"..." Eidolon's eyes narrow. He can be good at "closing the leak" of his aura, but there's always someone who can read something from you. He is not surprised that someone can feel the bloodlust clinging to him like dried blood.

But he doesn't care that much. The fact that he can only see 0,1% of his aura shows that defenses are still pretty solid.

On the other hand, Suvik's words only work to make the rest of the Marauders scared. They never saw such a big reaction from this crazy man; he is always a creepy, quiet type.

Eidolon killed more than a million people? That's crazy…

The image of the man hovering above them just got bigger and more intimidating.

"And your life force… OooOoo~" Suvik almost appears to be having an orgasm "never felt something like this before…"

It's a very gross sight, seeing the guy who walked out of a hack-and-slash horror movie trembling and moaning like that.

Luckily for everyone witnessing such a sight, Suvik went straight to business… A yellow whip materializes in his hand, shining not different from Eidolon's Lasso of Truth, before attacking the floating hero with it.

Deciding not to touch anything from an unknown power, Eidolon simply deflects the attack with an invisible force.

Boom Crash

A force that did not stop on the whip, hitting Suvik straight in the chest and sending the man flying away till he is burning on a wall a little far away.

It happened in an instant. One second. Suvik is out of the battle already.

"Well, that is a bad choice… Time for some collective responsibility." Eidolon says, now there's some aggression in his eyes.

The Marauders grit their teeth; words are useless now thanks to Suvik. Or maybe Eidolon never intended to give them a chance in the first place.

Their bodies get ready for a last-ditch effort.

Eidolon dismissed his copies; he feels like acting on his own this time, to keep himself sharp. Not that he thinks it will be troublesome…

The first to go is the Wyngarde family. The father-daughter duo, Jason and Regan, have telepathic abilities. They try to reach for Eidolon's mind, to create telepathic illusions, discreet attempts to make like they are still there so that they can sneak away.

Eidolon glares at them, and the middle-aged man with his blonde daughter falls on the ground unconscious.

At the same time, he felt some telepathic waves emanating from Marcus Andrew, the Rem-Ram, the black man didn't have his training in hiding the "leak" of his energies and aura.

It seems he is connecting everyone in a telepathic call, like how Jean does with the X-Men. So Eidolon deals with him quickly and efficiently. The man falls unconscious after having his mind attacked, too.

After two mind battles, the physically specialized Marauders decide to act. Barnacle, Spoor, Mellencamp, and Marco Delgado jump him at the same time. On the side, Vertigo tries to destroy his equilibrium, but he ignores her for now.

Eidolon remains still while he is approached from all sides. Mellencamp and Spoor are two metas that have alterations on their physical appearances; the first is reptilian, and the other is covered in fur from head to toe.

Eidolon disappears from his spot in a blur, reappearing behind the two and karate chopping their neck, making their eyes roll as they blackout.

Now facing Barnacle and Marco Delgado, he simply delivers two quick jabs to their solar plexus.

Wham Wham

The two look like they have some durability. Barnacle, like his name says, has a skin filled with barnacles, while Delgado is as big and muscular as humanly possible before becoming the Juggernaut or Hulk.

But the two fall, crouching down on the ground at the same time.

Swish

"That is annoying…" Eidolon suddenly appears in front of Vertigo, his big hand grabs her head, her eyes wide in surprise between his long fingers. "See if you like it."

Then he shakes her skull slightly for 0.1 second, it just looks like a quick vibration, but she falls on the ground with her legs weak, and..

"Bleergh!" And pukes before, and while, passing out.

It's almost pity-inducing to see a beautiful and sexy woman lying on her own vomit like that, but Eidolon doesn't even spare her a glance, turning to the rest of the Marauders.

But someone tried sneaking behind him… Keyword: tried.

"What are you trying to do?" He asks Giorgina Esperanza, aka Static, without turning around.

He doesn't even know her name, if not, he would ask her to change because of Static Shock. That's why when he felt she was doing her best to touch him… He encapsulated her hands in two force-field barriers.

Thud

She could only hit him with the two ball barriers, her power useless while her hands are sealed.

"A touch-based power. A striker, huh? What kind?" He asks, his voice with a strange intonation.

"I can cause paralysis with a touch by disabling their autonomic brain functions…" She answers without even thinking, then her sealed hand goes to her mouth while she gasps.

"Oh…" Eidolon says, disappointingly, after hearing the truth. "I can do that too." He then touches her, and she falls on the ground, rigid like a mannequin.

THUD

His ever-changing eyes accompany the fall of Static before turning to Cecilia Reyes. The woman visibly flinched and instinctively raised a spherical shield around her.

Eidolon casually rolls his right wrist, and a portal appears beneath her feet. And she drops down from the second portal a little above him on his right side.

He grabs her neck while she gasps in surprise and paralysis her exactly like Static.

THUD

She falls on the ground like a mannequin, too, rigid and almost bouncing.

Riptide and Katu go to attack at the same time, the winds around them getting strong, the weather changing, but Eidolon points his fingers at them and electrocutes the two in an electric storm.

It seems Riptide can control hurricanes and Katu has some sort of energy projection power.

Simon Hall, aka Neophyte, starts escaping by phasing and sinking through the ground.

Bam

Eidolon atoms on the ground and the earth around Neophyte emerge in a big pillar.

It's unknown what the specifics of his intangibility are, but the force sends him flying through the air, and Eidolon sends a telepathic blast because it seems the most effective way. After breaking the fall of Neophyte, Eidolon turns to the last Marauder.

Whosh Whosh

This one is well-known, so Eidolon makes a show of grabbing the cards thrown at him, even knowing that they would explode.

Facing Gambit, he holds the energy-charged cards between his fingers nonchalantly. Eidolon stares at the meta's black sclera calmly.

Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom

The expected explosion happens, and Eidolon emerges from it unscathed.

Gambit's face changes from a smirk to surprise.

"You can do better than that…" Eidolon says, half disappointed and half patronizing. "I know you can."

Gambit doesn't have the chance of trying again or even giving a witty remark…

Whoosh

.........….

Inside the base of the Marauders, Eidolon stares at the teleportation device with suspicious eyes. It's a door in the middle of a black room

He sends some clones inside, and as expected, there's trouble on the other side.

"Little bitch, like deep ocean pressure or the vacuum of space can kill me." He mutters, his hand hovering over the panel "Now I have the key to end this."

He accesses the panel with technopathy. Finally reaching the end of this crusade. There's nowhere else to go beyond his, he has access to the Sinister database, hivemind, and laboratory.

Zwoon

The portal lights up differently this time, and he walks through it fearlessly.

Many of his copies appear in the same lab, they point their fingers at the panel, forming a gun with their hands, and then…

"Bang." One says

"Bang." Another

"Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang" "Bang"

All around the world, clones of Sinister are dying suddenly. Their heads are exploding like they have just been shot, but there's no bullet. If one looked at them attentively and in slow motion, they would see that it's like the bullets are coming from inside their brains.

Eidolon invaded Sinister's hivemind, and now, using Inuyashiki's powers, he is transmitting cyber bullets through their connection. The bullets were formed by a concentrated electromagnetic beam.

Unavoidable. The chips in their brain are now their demise, the window through which their enemy can snipe them freely.

While pale clones fall one after the other all around the world, Eidolon walks through a dark corridor. His feet tapping on the ground is the only sound heard in the whole place; it's dead silent otherwise.

He finally emerges in a slightly more illuminated room.

"I would say something cool like: We are finally meeting face to face. But I'm already sick of your face." Eidolon says before he floats a little be at a higher level than Mister Sinister.

The pale villain looks calm, lounging on his technological throne, his oversized cape behind him in stripes. The two ignore the many screens around them, only showing buzzing static now.

"Greetings, Eidolon. I always wanted to talk with you." Sinister says, his voice in a distinct accent

"Then say your last words before I deal with this very anti-climactic not-a-ending." Eidolon scoffs, his eyes hard.

Sinister's pale, vampiric face twists into a huge smirk.

The two know that this is not the ending of Mister Sinister, just a huge setback.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't know that my little test would offend you so much." Sinister says, looking truly apologetic.

"It's a start, I believe in you… Why don't you turn yourself in truly so that I can help you turn over a new leaf?" Eidolon says, matching his tone, looking like he truly believes in what Sinister says.

"Kuhuhu, I think I will need to refuse your offer politely. I'm doing exactly what I mean to be; I don't need to turn over a new leaf." Sinister speaks with a chuckle "I'm trying to speed up humanity's evolution process-" He was about to give a passionate speech about his craft when Eidolon raised his hand to interrupt him

"Stop right here. I really have no patience to hear anything about how you are doing all for the greater good or whatever." The hero sighs tiredly "You are simply a psychopath. I saw your experiments on the humans that you are about to say that you want to improve, the manipulations, you are just an egotistical narcissist playing god."

"...-" Sinister opens his mouth, but Eidolon stops him again.

"I know, I know… Necessary sacrifices. I hear a similar speech every day from GLaDOS." Eidolon says with a roll of his eyes "Just shut up and take your loss from today. My patience is really thin right now. Keep it to the next time you appear."

"..."

"..."

The two stare at each other for some time, tension palpable in the air.

"So… any last attempt to fight? Do you have a suit or a second form?" Eidolon asks

"This is not over, Eidolon." Sinister answers, now finally showing negative emotions in his pale face. Anger and contempt marred his pale complexion.

"Thank you for ending this anti-climactic episode with a villain cliche catchphrase. It enhanced the experience." The hero raises his hand and points at Sinsiter. "By the way, for your own good, I hope you are some sort of controlled puppet or pre-programmed clone. Because I'm gonna make you suffer. Till next time, Sinister."

And just like that, Mister Sinister's vision went black.

No big fight or exciting challenge. The man is a scientist; his acquired powers over the years can only give him an advantage over minor characters. His main ability of telepathy, has already proved useless against Eidolon. He is out of options.

His ego appeared at the last moment, not allowing him to just run with his tail between his legs. He needed to have one face-to-face with the man who turned into an incredible mountain on his path before disappearing.

But that is the only thing he could get from this. He even failed to acquire a sample of Eidolon; the copies would not leave anything significant behind after disappearing.

The best he was able to do was annoy him enough to have Eidolon reveal some extra, never-before-seen tricks up his sleeve. A consolation prize for the mad scientist who is really invested in meta-powers.

The only thing he got from Eidolon was that, and a lesson, a lesson shared with the villains and criminals around the world.

.............

Eidolon put a bunch of Sinister's brain in jars - the ones that he was able to save from self-destruction - so that he can get his knowledge later in a safe way. The guy was one of the top specialists in his field; Hector could only think of the High Evolutionary as someone better than him. Beyond Celestials and similar beings, of course.

Now he is more relaxed after venting on the guy, even if he knows it will not be the last time he will hear from him. The message was delivered to the world at least.

He decided to drop by Edna, knowing that the X-girls would be there. He has some business with one of them.

He teleports to Edna's hidden atelier, walking to where he feels her and the others' presence.

"Edna, I need to-" He starts talking, but the scene in front of him stunned him in a way Sinister could never.

Edna and the girls are hanging around a holographic table, snacks and beverages around them, the mood is casual… Not wrong with that, just some women having a good time.

The problem is the holographic table… No, the problem is the image showed on 3D high in the air… A generated image of him wearing a slave-gladiator costume, chains, and a tattered mantle protects little of his modesty.

'Isn't that Superman costume at the time he became a gladiator?' He thinks while looking at the strange scene.

While he is looking at it, the girls are looking at him.

All of them frozen in place, caught red-handed, they are not even blinking while looking at him… Meanwhile, the image of him in that ridiculous costume still floats in the air.

"..." Edna, without breaking eye contact, extends her hand slowly, her finger pointing down and beep quickly dismisses the hologram. "What is, darling?" Then she turned around like nothing had happened.

"..." Eidolon stares at them with dead eyes before deciding that it is not worth it. "I will need to borrow Jean for a minute."

"Hmm~, you can borrow her, but return my friend without a strand of her beautiful fire hair missing. We still have a lot to talk about." Edna shoos Jean to him playfully amidst the teasing of the girls in Jean's direction.

Eidolon ignores the teenage girl's moment and brings Jean to a corner before using the power of the Calm-Calm fruit to create privacy.

"Are you guys aware of what's happening on the outside?" He asks

His serious tone makes Jean lose any playfulness. "No… Did anything big happen?"

"Don't worry, it was just me overreacting a little to put fear in certain people." Eidolon dismisses her concerns "It would just be easier to explain… Summarized version: I was hunting a villain who experiments on metas."

"Another one? They don't stop, huh?" She frowns

"Yes and yes, there's always another one." He nods "The thing is that this guy was really interested in the metagene, doing all kinds of unethical things to acquire good samples… And he is very old, plays the long game…"

"..." Jean listens to him attentively, and Eidolon decides to rip off the band-aid already. Hopefully, it will be a good test to see if she will crash out when she discovers Xavier's manipulations.

"The thing is that this guy is a manipulator, able to pull strings behind the scenes in a ridiculous way, even in wiring Meta's brain to love each other. Like a matchmaker from hell, only so that they could produce a strong offspring, so that he can collect better samples."

Jean's mouth opens in horror slowly, her mind catching up "And you are telling me this why…?" She asks very slowly

He gave her a look "I got on his database… You and Scott are victims of his."

Extra

In Egypt, at least miles beneath the pyramids lies more than what any archeologist can imagine. A hidden chamber, but not anything expected beneath a pyramid.

It's incredibly high-tech, the walls coated in metal, in the middle, a small spaceship works as a sarcophagus, in the shape of a small pyramid, a resting place for one of the first metas of the world.

Beyond that, one would be able to notice that there are other technological apparatus that seem to be from a different origin, not nearly as advanced as the rest. Like an extra something that someone added later, another coffin lies close to a panel in the wall.

The four symbols of the cards are carved on the coffin. The spade, the heart, the club… and the diamond. The same that was marked in the middle of Sinister's forehead.

Beep

Suddenly, the place lights up. The glyphs and lines on the room shine in a blue light; the chamber comes to life. The light pulses like blood, flowing to the spaceship in the middle.

On the screen of the panel, alien words appear. The last one changes once, twice, and again… and again… Anyone with half a brain would be able to figure out what it is, even if they can't recognize what it is saying.

It's a countdown… Like an alien Doomsday Clock. No, not to the doomsday… A countdown to the Age of Apocalypse.
