Capítulo 718: Chapter 360: Evolution Holy Shrine, Summoning, Completion, Transformation!_2
“After this, I need to find time to properly enhance my soul power and accumulate ancient spirit texts…”
Ronan silently calculated in his heart. Magic comprehension and soul power are closely linked, and ancient spirit texts have a similar “enlightenment” effect. If he wants to advance his magic in the master level domain, he can only focus on these two aspects.
At this moment, a sense of struggle came from his fingers. Ronan pressed down his thoughts, released his hand, and looked at Jason beneath him.
Only now did Jason seem to completely snap out of his initial shock, then looked at Ronan as if he were seeing him for the first time.
“Damien…”
“Hmm?”
“Have you always been this fierce, or did you become fierce after advancing to Dawn?”
“Always.”
“…Back when we first met…was I almost dead..”
“What do you think?”
Jason fell silent, and after a moment, he murmured to himself, “Looks like I have pretty good luck, my only wizard friend turns out to be a top-tier genius…”
“Hoo—”
Ronan exhaled heavily, his eyes slightly concentrated as he spoke quietly, “Stop talking nonsense…we still haven’t completely escaped from that Tangista group.”
“They are still chasing?!”
Jason, hearing this, immediately became tense, like a startled rabbit, quickly looking behind.
Soon, he could see, on the distant gray-white horizon, a wisp of elusive black smoke clinging tightly to their backs like a bone-eroding malady, showing signs of getting closer.
“Damn..”
Jason’s face turned ugly, immediately thinking of that terrifyingly powerful Black Nightmare Warhorse Knight, a commander-level figure in the Tangista Wizard Empire’s army.
He turned back and discussed countermeasures with Ronan.
“What do we do?”
“What do we do? We can only run.”
Ronan calmly replied, “I was lured here from the Forgotten Land’s Ancient Waterway Ruins by your communication bat.
The teleportation point is still there. If we reach it, we have a chance to escape alive…”
Jason’s eyes lit up, he couldn’t help but ask, “How far is the teleportation point?”
“At our current speed…at least ten hourglass times.”
Jason fell silent, his lips pursed, and his nerves began to stretch tight.
But it was only a while before he couldn’t help but curse under his breath, “These madmen, why insist on chasing us? I didn’t even touch a finger of that guy using the crossbow arrows of Level 3…
Madmen…perverts…”
Ronan listened to Jason’s curses, a flicker of contemplation flashing in his eyes.
Indeed, Jason was right to curse.
There is no deep-seated hatred between the Destiny Pendulum and Tangista, or rather, the Three Great Empires in the Central region, though occasionally clashing, do not have significant conflicts.
The wizards of both factions, upon encountering each other, don’t necessarily end up in relentless confrontations.
For Tangista’s wizards to pursue relentlessly, Ronan speculated that either he and Jason accidentally intruded into their “alert zone” and were mistaken for people with other intentions.
Or, these wizards of Tangista are the real ones with “other intentions”…after all, a strong Level 5 Late Stage Great Wizard appearing in the Forgotten Land with a group of subordinates, how could it not smell of conspiracy and intrigue?
“That’s what makes this most troublesome…”
Ronan bit his lip, took a deep breath, used titanium to guard Jason and used the effect of [Space Silvering], then teleported forward twice in short bursts, slightly widening the gap between the “cat-and-mouse” spiritual power sensing behind.
Truthfully, Ronan wasn’t particularly panicked, as he didn’t perceive intense hostility from his opponents, plus, he had an even stronger trump card yet to be revealed.
While thinking, a strong sense of longing suddenly surged in Ronan’s heart.
He froze, suddenly halted in mid-air.
“What’s wrong?”
Jason was taken aback, stopping as well, glancing back repeatedly with uncertainty, asking urgently.
Ronan didn’t speak, just took out a seemingly ordinary black stone ball, staring quietly for a while.
After half a breath, he suddenly tossed a Rune Stone to Jason.
“The teleportation point coordinates are inside, go by yourself, I have another matter to attend to.”
Throwing down a sentence, Ronan chose a direction without looking back and flew out swiftly.
Jason, baffled by his actions, watched Ronan’s figure getting farther and harder to see, only then reacting and pursuing without even glancing at the Rune Stone in his hand.
“What is this all about now?”
“Hoo—hoo—”
The incoming strong wind blew past Ronan’s cheeks; Ronan could distinctly hear his heartbeat and breath.
Both were gradually quickening.
He fixedly stared at a semi-transparent black line visible only to him, following the guiding black line, and with each stretch he flew, the inexplicable longing seemed to grow stronger.
“Yes, it should be…”
“Completing the last bit of strength to advance [Ascetic Body Refinement] to master level…”
“What I truly desire…Holy Shrine Power!”
Perhaps a mystical instinctive sensing, or maybe stuck on the brink of mastering the final aspect for too long, sending a “signal prompt” from the [Pure Body].
Regardless, Ronan had an extremely strong premonition at this moment – the Holy Shrine he was headed to was the one he’s been seeking; if missed…he might regret for a long time.
The black line’s guidance was even shorter than Ronan anticipated.
Soon, he saw the end of the black line.
It was a nondescript hill, hidden among the undulating gray-white dirt wilderness.
From afar, Ronan released his spiritual power, and the short hill immediately exploded with a “boom”, revealing beneath it, a small pitch-black entrance barely big enough for one person.
Like a gust of wind, Ronan rushed in without pause, phantoming through the winding cave, finally stopping at the cave’s end.
“Plop—”
A cluster of flames sprang out, illuminating the cave’s sight.
Some dead vines crawled along the uneven stone walls, with disturbed snakes hissing and hurriedly slithering away.
Ronan stood still, under the flame’s brightness, able to glimpse an ancient altar concealed by the entwined vines at the deepest part of the cave.
In the altar’s center stood a black stone pillar, engraved with a faceless maiden’s image.
“Boom!”
Ronan’s eyes slightly gleamed, the altar’s stone pillar exploded, the fragmented body of the maiden statue revealed a pure white flawless energy flame quietly arising.
“Buzz—buzz—”
Ronan gazed quietly at the pure white flame, the pure white light reflecting in his pupils.
At this moment, the longing swelling within him reached a peak; the life light ball within him seemed to echo the pure white flame before him, both wavering and resonating synchronously.
“Damien!”
Jason’s voice came from outside the cave, echoing within.
“Are you in there?”
“Damn it! What’s going on? That guy on horseback is almost upon us!”
Ronan ignored it, uniquely approaching the flame, then slowly reached his hand forward.
“Jason…I think we might not need to flee anymore.”
He whispered as his fingertip touched the flame.
The previously floating flame immediately found an outlet, instantly winding around his palm.
Soon afterward, Ronan’s entire being was enveloped by a layer of pure white flame.
Intense flames burned over him, anticipating an awaited transformation.
“So it was evolutionary power…”
Ronan lowered his head, looking at his fully flame-covered hands, and murmured.
Soon, his murmuring was overshadowed by a sequence of flesh-and-bones collisions, tearing, booming, and growth sounds.
“Boom—”
Instantly, pure white light engulfed everything in the cave.
