Anton submitted the quest items that he received from the 65th floor, bringing his total completed quests to advance to Platinum rank to around fifty-eight. Just a few more and he would have completed the required 100 quests, but he didn’t know if there were any additional tests he needed to do to receive the rank.
He didn’t sell any of his mana stones, since he still had a lot of gold coins in his inventory and the manor’s treasure room, and thought that he didn’t need additional gold coins anymore. The flower shop and the fruit orchard shop were also doing well, and his father and his group were also starting to earn gold coins from the dungeons. They even had a surplus of magic items from the dungeon runs that Anton did. If Anton had not been too lazy to identify the items himself, they could have saved a lot of gold coins, but he truly did not want to bother with identifying the items since there were a lot of them.
When he arrived home, Anton was glad to see that Anders was home as well.
“So how was your delve?” Anton asked his father while they were in Anders’s office.
“Everyone is leveling up too fast. We now needed to hide our levels to prevent envious eyes looking at us. Tomorrow we will return to Balathar Dungeon to continue leveling up.”
“Mr. Jenkins told me that you just returned yesterday. What’s the hurry?”
“It’s confirmed that New Drennor is now at war. An army of powerful undead from the coalition landed in the Gale Continent, and it was confirmed that the monsters were planning to attack New Drennor first.”
“Antonia said that New Drennor was a powerful kingdom. Surely they were not worried about enemies that came from so far away?”
“According to Raymond’s report, New Drennor isn’t worried, but the undead were capable of doing protracted war. The good thing was, Ormunda was proactive. The kingdom would be recruiting people. Ormunda intended to form a special army that would assist the kingdoms that would be attacked by the Undead Coalition.”
“I’m tired of running, Father. This time, I will fight. Since both you and Anna are settled here, I want to join Ormunda’s special force that they planned to form to attack the undead.”
“I have an inkling that you would do something like that. I hoped that you could delay until Anna and I were powerful enough to join you. With the help of your legendary weapon, it shouldn’t take us long.”
“I will delay it for some time, Father, and will run what I call gold runs in the high-level dungeon. I want to collect enough wealth to make sure that our family here will be able to live an affluent life even without me here. But once recruitment starts, I will immediately join.”
“I understand. Besides, recruitment hasn’t officially started yet. According to the rumor mill, the official recruitment would start next month.”
After their meeting, Luna and Alfred went to him while he was resting in his room.
“Anton, you promised that you would give us a copy of the new movies about space and stuff,” Alfred said when Anton opened his bedroom door.
“I’ll give you the first three movies in the franchise. Remember that these globes will disappear in a week, so if you want your own copies, you will need to use a magic item recorder,” Anton said, then he handed the three mini globes of browser sharing to Luna. The globes contained Star Wars Episode IV, V, and VI.
He planned to show them the films in order of how he had seen them. Anton also made sure that the globes were marked so Luna would not be confused and show the movies in the correct order.
“Why are we starting on four?” Luna asked when she saw the marks.
Anton just shrugged and told the siblings that it was how the film creator arranged the movie viewing.
“I prefer these globes to the magic recorders. The quality diminishes a lot when viewing a movie through the magic item recorder, and the recording doesn’t last long. The magic shop told us that the life span of recorders is very short, and depending on the usage, they would only last a few months,” Luna said.
“I’ll be back in a few days, so I’ll just give you the rest then.”
“You just returned today! Are you going back to delving again?!” Alfred asked, and Anton just nodded. He did smile when he heard the boy mutter “crazy”.
Alfred and Luna excitedly ran away. Probably planning to watch the new movies immediately.
Anton planned to join Ormunda’s special forces the moment the recruitment opened in one month, so he planned to spend the days before that time running the 30th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta Dungeon. He would be able to earn a lot of gold coins and items that would secure the wealth of Rose Manor, and at the same time, level up his Diablo II ladder characters.
The next day, both Anton and Andes left early for the dungeons—Anton towards the high-level dungeon, and his father towards the Balathar Dungeon. When Anton arrived at the guild branch that managed the high-level dungeon, he immediately requested the 30th-floor key.
After four days of running his “gold runs”, he managed to level up his ladder Druid to level 50. He also sold all the medium-level mana stones, including the ones that he received from the 65th floor. The coins he earned totaled 320,000. He purchased an extra-large chest and then dumped a total of 400,000 plus gold coins there. He left 200,000 gold coins in his inventory for his personal spending allowance. He also dumped all of the magic items that he acquired in the treasure room, leaving Raymond and the others to handle them.
“Anton! Thankfully, you’ve returned! Can you give us the next three films?” Luna asked with Alfred beside her. Anton immediately gave the Star Wars Episodes 1 to 3 to Luna.
Anton wasn’t even surprised that Laloniah and her friends were at the manor. He knew that the elf girl and her friends wouldn’t let new movies pass her by, and their ability to learn the happenings inside the manor was impressive.
Raymond reported that Romina complained a little. Apparently, the number of viewers for the Star Wars films reached around 300. She kept saying that if the manor charged the viewers for watching the films, the manor could have earned a good amount of coins. Anton just shrugged and told Raymond that it was going to be Anders’s decision when it came to something like that.
Anton did not want to bother himself managing a cinema since they were earning enough coins for the manor’s usage. At least, if the movies were shown for the manor’s entertainment and not for business, the viewers would not be able to do anything about whatever Luna and Alfred decided regarding the movie-watching schedules.
While resting, Anton thought of the fact that he wasn’t gathering quest items anymore. He decided to remain at the Diamond Rank. Once he joined Ormunda’s special forces against the undead, he preferred to be a foot soldier, battling on the front lines, and if his rank was Platinum, there was a good chance that Ormunda would put him in an officer’s position.
Anton even thought that with his current adventurer rank and magic rank, he would still be placed as an officer. He wanted to use his power to destroy the undead. He didn’t want to become one of the commanding officers staying at the back, since his main purpose of joining them was to vent his rage towards the forces that killed his friends.
