Chapter 283: White's True Nature, Mary Sue Becomes a Loyal Dog (1)
Just as she was torn with indecision, the blonde young lady in front of her suddenly showed a look of panic and started leaning back.
“Ah! Ah!”
Lilith stumbled back two steps before finally steadying herself.
She turned her head, ready to lash out in anger. Who dared to grab her by the back of her neck so suddenly?
But the moment she turned, her eyes met Shia's cold gaze.
Instantly, Lilith's neck shrank back, and her entire demeanor changed as if she were a frightened quail.
“What are you running around recklessly for now?”
“Can’t you behave yourself for once?”
Shia's posture remained elegant and composed, but his tone carried a firm reprimand, as though he’d caught her red-handed committing a crime.
Lilith clasped her small hands together nervously, her head lowered in fear, trembling as if she were a guilty child caught in the act. Her performance was spot on.
“Well… uh… I just remembered I forgot to take in the bedsheets at home! Gotta go!”
Before the last word fully left her lips, her figure had already dashed far away. By the time her lingering voice faded, even her shadow was long gone.
White's gaze lingered on Shia, her expression filled with curiosity.
Wasn’t this Sistine’s boyfriend?
She had only met him last night, even making the first move to introduce herself.
There was no way she would forget him so quickly.
But what was he doing here?
Though they lived in the same area, each residence was spaced far apart. Under normal circumstances, it would be unlikely for him to wander to her side of the neighborhood without a purpose.
Previously, they had never even crossed paths.
And why was Lilith so afraid of him? It was as if a mouse had seen a cat.
Not long ago, Lilith had clung to her persistently like sticky taffy, utterly unwilling to leave. But the mere sight of Shia and a few words from him had sent her fleeing in panic.
This scene was undeniably odd.
“You two…”
White’s gaze shifted toward the direction Lilith had disappeared.

What kind of relationship did they have?
“She’s my childhood friend,” Shia answered honestly without hiding anything. “She’s always been like this, so unreliable.”
“I’ve been trying to steer her back onto the right path, but…”
He sighed helplessly, lowering his head slightly with an apologetic expression.
“Did she cause you any trouble?”
“I'm really sorry!”
“If there’s anything she did wrong, I apologize on her behalf.”
“If there’s any way to make it up to you, feel free to let me know.”
As he spoke, Shia slightly bowed to White.
White was clearly taken aback by Shia’s sudden and sincere apology.
Especially since it wasn’t even his fault.
This had nothing to do with him.
Caught off guard by Shia’s genuine attitude, White—who had never encountered such a situation before—was momentarily at a loss.
After a brief moment of panic, she considered consoling Shia.
It wasn’t his fault that he had such an unreliable childhood friend. Lilith’s choices were her own, and he shouldn’t have to lower himself or feel responsible for her actions.
White took a deep breath to steady herself and stepped forward, intending to help Shia back up.
“You don’t need to—”
But before she could finish her sentence, a rich, sweet aroma suddenly invaded her senses.
In an instant, White’s expression shifted.
Her gaze locked onto Shia, her once cool and indifferent demeanor melting away.
Her eyes trailed downward, settling on Shia’s hand.
Every cell in her body screamed at her, drawn by an intoxicating scent emanating from him—a scent that held an irresistible allure.
Shia noticed her extended hand frozen in place as it grasped his wrist, and he looked up to see White’s dazed expression.
In the nearby bushes, Lilith’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she watched the interaction. Her heart raced with anticipation.
The moment of truth had arrived!
Although she had fled, she hadn’t left without pulling a small trick.
When she brushed past Shia, she had “accidentally” grazed his fingertip, leaving a tiny scratch behind.
White’s gaze fell upon Shia’s hand, fixating on the small wound on his fingertip.
The cut was so minor that it only revealed a faint line of blood.
But to White, that tiny wound seemed magnified a hundredfold, consuming her world.
Everything around her blurred into irrelevance, leaving only the faint, alluring scent of his blood.
It was utterly intoxicating.
White stared at it blankly, swallowing hard.
Her instincts surged uncontrollably, and before she realized what she was doing, she leaned forward and opened her crimson lips, gently biting down on Shia’s finger.
Her soft lips enveloped his fingertip as her teeth lightly pressed into his skin.
In that moment, the vampire’s eyes turned a deep crimson.
As the sweet nectar flowed into her mouth, White felt an overwhelming sense of euphoria washing over her. She closed her eyes, savoring the taste as a faint blush crept onto her once-pale face.
Her cheeks now carried a healthy glow as she continued to suck gently, her lips curling into an involuntary smile.
The once aloof and dignified air around her had completely vanished. She now held Shia’s hand delicately, her lips moving rhythmically as she let out soft, contented hums.
Her long lashes fluttered slightly as her dazed, blissful gaze gave her a soft, almost cartoonishly adorable appearance.
Shia winced slightly. It did hurt a bit.
He tried to pull his hand away, but White clung to him, moving along with his efforts as though she were glued to him. No matter how he tried to shake her off, she wouldn’t budge.
Even when he attempted to pry her off with his other hand, she remained stubbornly latched on.
Lost in the sensation, White felt as though she were floating in a sea of warmth and sweetness, utterly enveloped in pleasure. It was a sensation of pure joy, as if she had found relief after an eternity of drought.
This is amazing!
White’s foggy thoughts swirled with satisfaction.
Gradually, her senses returned, and she became aware of the tugging at her body.
Looking up at Shia, she finally realized what she had done.
Her expression immediately filled with panic as she staggered back three steps, her crimson lips slightly parted, revealing two delicate fangs that made her look almost endearingly innocent.
She lowered her head, wanting to apologize, but the words “I’m sorry” caught in her throat.
Her mouth still carried the lingering sweetness of his blood.
