Chapter 1309: Chapter 1309: Not Caring Is the Best Way to Slap Someone’s Face
Actually, he was completely overthinking it.
Chi Enen never planned to send him a text message.
She thought that since he specifically mentioned he wouldn’t have time until after tomorrow afternoon, it meant he would be busy before that, so she put her mobile phone away and started busying herself with work when she went up.
The work intensity at Li Headquarters wasn’t small, and even though she was a newbie, she didn’t receive any special treatment because of that.
By the time she finished her work, it was already dark outside.
Chi Enen stretched and finally gave her brain a moment to rest after a day of running.
“Beep beep…”
At this time, her mobile phone rang.
Chi Enen took out her mobile phone and saw Baby Chi’s call.
“Hello.”
“Woman, when are you coming back? Don’t forget our promise!”
Chi Enen glanced at her watch; it was already past seven. She pulled out a chair and said, “Right away, I’ll be home in 20 minutes.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
The call ended there, abruptly, hardly like a little guy of 7 years old.
Chi Enen helplessly shook her head, gathered her things, shut down her laptop, and grabbed her bag to head out.
Some people had already left, while others kept working overtime.
Chi Enen had just arrived at the elevator entrance when she ran into Kang Hao and Luna.
Upon seeing her, Kang Hao’s clear face revealed a warm smile as he actively greeted her, “Enen.”
“Hello, Director.” Chi Enen responded with polite detachment.
She wasn’t naive; after a day of interactions, she already understood why Luna insisted on making her drink white liquor that day.
Sure enough, Luna saw her and subtly rolled her eyes. However, she maintained a façade and greeted her, “Enen, just off work too? I originally planned to invite you to dinner, but I accidentally twisted my foot, so I had to bother the Director to send me back.”
Chi Enen heard what was really important in her last sentence, but she didn’t care and simply responded, “Hmm.” Then, she ignored Luna and turned her attention to the elevator.
When Kang Hao heard Luna speak about their relationship so ambiguously, he subtly frowned. He wanted to explain, but instinctively glanced at Chi Enen’s reaction. Upon seeing that Chi Enen seemed completely unconcerned, the words stuck in his throat, never coming out.
His intuition told him Chi Enen wouldn’t care about his explanation.
Because she didn’t care, whether he explained or not made no difference to her.
This realization left Kang Hao somewhat defeated.
Just then, the elevator arrived, and Chi Enen went in first, pressing the button for her floor.
Kang Hao and Luna followed right after, entering the elevator.
Luna, still in high spirits, said, “Enen, let’s arrange to eat together another day. Let the Director foot the bill.”
Chi Enen was a bit annoyed, looked at her indifferently, and refused, “I’m afraid I won’t have time and can’t make it.”
Luna didn’t expect her to be so blunt, unable to find anything to say, “Ha ha, is that so?”
Chi Enen had already turned away, ignoring her.
Luna was visibly slapped in the face, and it was awkward to approach again.
When the elevator stopped in the underground garage, Chi Enen politely said to the two, “My car is right in front. Excuse me, I’ll go ahead.”
With that, she opened the Land Rover’s car door and got in.
Her Land Rover wasn’t the base model but the latest version, and at a glance, Chi Enen was driving the high-end model.
Such a car would cost at least over two million.
