“Shoot, shoot me right here!” Ye Chen patted the location of his heart, while Chen Fugui swallowed several times.
Duoduo and Wei Zhen, the two little girls, had already turned their backs, frightened by the scene before them. Those thirty-odd security guards were lying on the ground moaning in pain, and that guy Chen Fugui was actually holding a gun at Ye Chen. Duoduo was too scared to make a sound.

“Ye Chen, we better leave now!” said Wei Zhen anxiously on the side.
“Alright, let’s go quickly!” Ye Chen nodded and darted forward, picked up the gun from the ground, and swiftly carried the unconscious Duoduo out of Chen Fugui’s office.
Just as Ye Chen left, a large group of security guards entered the office.
Ye Chen left the scene with the calm Wei Zhen, but Duoduo remained unconscious. He hailed a taxi and headed to the apartment where Wei Zhen and Duoduo rented. Once they arrived, Ye Chen began trying to wake Duoduo.
Duoduo quickly woke from her nightmare, and when she saw Ye Chen, she burst into tears. “Ye, you’re finally here; Duoduo almost missed you to death!”
“Yes, yes, my bad, I shouldn’t have left for so long!” Ye Chen laughed, feeling that pacifying a girl was like calming a child for the first time. He promised repeatedly, “I won’t do this next time!”
“Really?” Duoduo immediately stopped crying, while Wei Zhen added, “Ye Chen, you’ve offended Chen Fugui completely. I’m afraid you can’t stay in Beijing; I advise you to leave quickly!”
“Ye, take me with you!” Duoduo urged quickly. “After this, Chen Fugui surely won’t let me and Wei Zhen go. Ye, take us away; we are willing to serve you tirelessly.”
“Don’t worry, we don’t need to leave!” Ye Chen stood up and looked seriously at Duoduo and Wei Zhen, saying, “With me here, you needn’t worry.”
“But Chen Fugui’s influence is strong in Beijing.” Wei Zhen looked at Ye Chen with concern, not because she didn’t trust him, but Chen Fugui’s power indeed seemed unimaginable. That night, Ye Chen, Wei Zhen, and Duoduo stayed in the apartment. Anyway, Ye Chen had nowhere else to go; he was merely wandering the Beijing City, initially planning to visit Mr. Liu, his godfather. He hadn’t called them over New Year and Lantern Festival, and this was a trip to Beijing; not visiting might surely end in reprimands.
However, even if he visited, a day or two wouldn’t make much difference, and Ye Chen still decided to handle Chen Fugui’s matter first before seeking out Mr. Liu. Without dealing with Chen Fugui’s affairs, presumably, the two little girls wouldn’t dare stay in Beijing City anymore.
That night, Ye Chen didn’t turn into a beast, rather the two girls were affectionate. The two kept rolling towards Ye Chen, even wearing see-through nightgowns, revealing everything inside clearly, yet Ye Chen didn’t make a move. It wasn’t that Ye Chen was abstinent; he just didn’t want to become too sleazy. He made a mistake once, twice, but to make a third, would he still be worthy of Li Ruo, Zhang Yantong, and Dian Ling?
Having taken in Liu Momo already filled him with enough guilt, and if he took them in too, Li Ruo and Zhang Yantong might kill him.
Seeing Ye Chen uninterested, the two awkwardly retreated to another room and started whispering.

“What’s there to move?” Wei Zhen glanced at Duoduo and then said, “Ye Chen now is completely different from before. I guess he’s been through something, but this kind of thing can’t be rushed. So, we better not be too hasty!”
“Oh!” Duoduo nodded.
The two kept talking there until they fell asleep at the head of the bed, the two little girls hugging each other stark naked, a scene full of imagination. Unfortunately, no man could witness such a nosebleed-inducing scene.
The next day, Ye Chen got up early. Even though it was already March, the weather in Beijing was still zero degrees, freezing outside, yet the room was as warm as spring. Ye Chen stretched, then brushed his teeth and washed his face. He ran a few laps outside and did a simple workout. Over the years, Ye Chen had never been able to shake off the habit of waking up early to exercise from his time in the military, which had built his current steel-like physique.
“Morning, Brother Ye!” Duoduo wore quite a bit, her long hair flowing, with a bow on her head and a pink scarf, looking pure and cute. She greeted Ye Chen warmly and then said, “I’m going to buy breakfast for you. What do you want to eat?”
“Anything will do!” Ye Chen waved his hand. He wasn’t particular about breakfast, just eating something to get by was fine.
Duoduo bought wontons for Ye Chen, a buckwheat bun for herself, and another for Wei Zhen. There was milk in the fridge, just needed to heat it, and that would basically satisfy breakfast for the three of them. The silly girl Duoduo kept watching Ye Chen while she ate the bun. Ye Chen smiled and asked, “By the way, why did you guys become intern reporters? If I remember correctly, intern reporters don’t have a role, and the salary isn’t much. Why not change jobs?”
“Brother Ye, we want to, but unfortunately, our major’s employment field is very limited. So, we have to make do!” Duoduo said helplessly.
“I see!” Ye Chen smiled lightly. The two studied photography, and it seems like there’s not much to use that major for after graduation. Either start a freelance photography career or open a photo studio… Unfortunately, the two little girls are engaged as intern reporters. Ye Chen was determined to help these two little individuals at the bottom of the social ladder. He smiled and asked, “So what job do you want to do the most?”
“Actually, we quite like being reporters!” Wei Zhen looked at Ye Chen. She naturally had her own thoughts. She always believed Ye Chen had a strong background, and if he could make her and Duoduo official reporters, it would be great. But of course, Wei Zhen wouldn’t directly tell Ye Chen that. If you don’t have money or connections, you’ll only be taken advantage of by the station leaders. And, if your looks aren’t up to par, they might not even look at you!”
“That’s okay.” Ye Chen chuckled, ate a wonton, and continued, “I’m just asking if you want to, don’t overthink the other stuff.”
“Want, of course, we do!” Wei Zhen felt a burst of joy in her heart.
“Then that’s settled!” Ye Chen nodded.
The words were not even finished when a knocking sound came from the door, Wei Zhen, and Duoduo exchanged a glance, could it be a visitor? Wei Zhen and Duoduo had few friends in Beijing, and even if someone were visiting, they wouldn’t come this early in the morning. However, the two didn’t think much about it, while Ye Chen’s expression turned serious, as if he could already see the situation outside through the security door.
