“I really didn’t expect that someone as selfish as Theodore Lucas would go to such lengths for revenge, even risking himself personally.”
In the next room, Lily nestled in Aidan Lucas’s arms, remarking to the television screen.
Mr. Lucas gently ruffled Lily’s hair, said nothing, and placed a soft kiss on her sleek crown.
Only those unfathomable almond-shaped eyes were fixed on the man appearing on the screen.
Their depth revealed nothing of his thoughts at that moment.
On the other side, the confrontation at the press conference was in full swing.
Tara Hammond, though she had made every preparation, was completely unprepared for Theodore Lucas’s appearance.
From what she knew of Theodore, at a time like this, he would avoid suspicion as much as possible; how could he possibly walk into a trap!
Tara was furious!
So furious she wished someone could drag Theodore over, make him kneel before her, and let her slice off every piece of his flesh, one by one.
Every time she thought of how her right eye, her face, was ruined by this failed man, Theodore, the anger made her wish she could turn him into minced meat and feed it to the dogs!
But no matter how angry or hateful she was.
Before so many cameras and reporters, she could only swallow her hatred.
Speaking in an extremely innocent tone, she cried, “Theodore, why are you framing me? You clearly said we should separate peacefully and wished me happiness with Robbie.”
“Moreover, when I met you, I was already twenty-seven. You told me you were divorced and single then. Why do you claim I met you when I was twenty? Is it because after we separated, your life wasn’t good, so you took money from Jeremy Cooper to falsely accuse me?”
Indeed, Tara was a master-level schemer; even with Theodore’s unexpected appearance outside of her plans, she could adapt quickly.
Before such a crowd, she immediately found a way to counterattack.
Not only did she cry beautifully like petals of a pear blossom touched by rain, but she also skillfully shifted suspicion towards Theodore and Jeremy Cooper’s relationship.

With a snap, Theodore tossed out a red item.
It was a red marriage certificate, thrown right into the middle of the press box.
“Everyone, please take a look for yourselves at whose names are written on this marriage certificate. Tara repeatedly claimed she’s peacefully separated from me and is in a normal boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with Robbie Bright. I’d like to ask, is a married woman having an affair considered unfaithful to marriage? Is it considered immoral and promiscuous?”
The press box was thrown into chaos, the red marriage certificate opened, revealing the names ‘Theodore Lucas’ and ‘Tara Hammond’ alongside a photo of the two smiling sweetly, exposed under countless flashlights.
The reporters frantically snapped photos of the marriage certificate, eager to capture this most crucial piece of evidence.
Tara Hammond and Theodore Lucas hadn’t divorced at all!
Her current status was still that of a married woman!
Regardless of whether her so-called peaceful separation was real or fake, as long as she was Theodore Lucas’s wife for one day, she legally and ethically couldn’t maintain a normal relationship with Robbie Bright.
