Chapter 538

"Take that! And that! And that!" A man howled like a maniac as he rapidly blocked hit after hit before switching from defense to attack.

With all his Ki boosting his speed, he shot forward, aiming to jam his sword into his opponent’s head. But before he could, the man twisted around and slammed the hilt of his sword against his arm.

The strike was so bone-crushing that he accidentally let go of his weapon, causing his opponent to gain the upper hand. In a split second, a knee was smashed upward into his nose.

Crunch!

His head snapped back violently, and his body followed, hurling several meters through the air before crashing to the ground.

"Easy win for the Umbrafell faction." The victor grinned widely, confidence flashing across his face.

"You sure about that?" A cold voice wafted into his ears, and he spun around, only to see a field of red clouding his vision.

A sharp pain suddenly burned across his neck. His hands immediately clamped down in an attempt to stop the bleeding, but it was no use. A powerful kick struck him next, sending his body flying away like a broken doll.

’Damn it! This battle is boring me! I need more excitement. These guys are so weak. I only agreed to help because I thought I would face people strong enough to push me, but it turns out they’re all weaklings!

The only person worth fighting here is Beatrix, and she’s occupied with Dame. How’s he holding up though?’ Killian thought as he spun around. His eyes caught sight of Dame landing a solid kick that instantly lifted the female off her feet and sent her hurling away.

"Damn, boy." He muttered with a slight chuckle before a whooshing sound drew his attention back to his own fight.

---

Back to Dame’s fight. After landing the kick, he stood there, huffing and panting from mild exhaustion while glaring at Beatrix, who was now rising to her feet.

She wiped away the trickle of blood running down her forehead, her face twisted in a deep frown.

"I don’t understand, don’t you ever smile?" Dame asked with a raised brow. But before he even finished, she moved.

She was so fast that Dame barely kept up, and in the next heartbeat, she appeared directly in front of him. Her sword shot forward in a blistering thrust aimed at his abdomen, but with every ounce of Ki he could muster, he surrounded his hands and brought them into the sword’s path.

Instantly, a deafening bang rang out as the ground beneath their feet cracked apart. A thick cloud of dust shot upward as Dame grit his teeth, veins bulging along his arms. He planted his feet firmly, digging deep into the ground, trying his hardest not to get blown away even in the slightest.

"Damn it." He muttered, sweat dripping down his face.

Before he could react further, Beatrix’s blade suddenly began pulsing, glowing brightly with a fierce yellow light. Seeing this, Dame’s eyes widened as realization struck.

’No! That’s... the third stage of Ki!’ he roared internally. Without hesitation...

BOOOM!

An explosion detonated between the duo, sending Dame’s body skidding across the ground for several meters. His body was battered, but before he even came to a full stop, the glow reappeared on her sword.

And without the slightest hesitation, she swung it diagonally, the air splitting apart even across the distance.

Immediately, a huge slash of yellow Ki shot forward with blistering speed. The tip carved trenches in the ground as it roared toward Dame with such astonishing momentum that the warrior wouldn’t be able to avoid it in time. With no other choice, he did the only thing he could.

His Ki swirled violently around his body, coating his hands as he instantly crossed his arms in an X-shape directly in front of his face. But it didn’t help much—because the slash of Ki struck true.

KA-BOOOM!

A massive shockwave erupted with such overwhelming force that even those several meters away were hit. The yellow slash slammed into Dame’s body with terrifying power, hurling him high into the air.

"Urghk!" He coughed out a mouthful of blood as his body was sent flying even further. The deadly arc of Ki didn’t stop; it continued tearing through the battlefield, slicing the ground open like a hot knife plowing through butter, leaving a deep scar in its wake.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Dame’s body bounced and tumbled mercilessly across the shattered ground, his forearms bleeding profusely. At last, he skidded to a halt, his breathing ragged and shallow.

"Kuhk!" He spat more blood, his chest rising and falling as though each breath weighed a ton.

Slowly, his body twitched as he tried to rise to his feet. The sound of deliberate footsteps drew closer, echoing through the dust-filled air. Seconds dragged on like eternity before he finally staggered upright, swaying but somehow managing to flash a faint smile.

"That was hard," he muttered under his breath, glancing at his battered hands before locking eyes with Beatrix. She now stood a few meters away, her blade pointed straight at him, her aura steady and cold.

Dame exhaled heavily, realizing his Ki reserves were dwindling fast. His gaze swept across the battlefield—his men were slowing down, their movements sluggish and desperate. They too were running out of Ki.

"Are you done watching your men struggle to their deaths?" Beatrix’s voice cut through the chaos like ice. "Honestly, you shouldn’t have brought them here. Their blood will be on your hands." She leveled her sword at him with merciless precision.

"You’re right." Dame sighed, lowering his hands. Blood dripped from his forearms, sliding onto his gauntlets, though he didn’t even notice.

"Which is why..." he muttered, then abruptly cupped his hands around his mouth, gathering what little Ki he had left into his throat. His voice thundered across the battlefield.

"Everybody, take your damn pills now!"

As his command echoed, Dame shoved his hand into his pocket and pulled out a pill striped purple and blue. Without hesitation, he shoved it down his throat. Beatrix raised an eyebrow, confusion flashing in her eyes.

Almost instantly, the effects kicked in. Ki surged back into him, his reserves replenishing to the brim. Strength and speed flooded his limbs like a tidal wave, and even his fatigue vanished as if it had never existed.

Right at that moment, his gauntlets began to glow brightly. Dame blinked in surprise, lifting them to inspect.

"Wh...what is that? What are you doing?" Beatrix demanded sharply, swirling Ki around her sword and feet again as if preparing for another devastating strike.

"I...I’m doing nothing." Dame replied honestly, still staring at the glow. It lasted only a few seconds before dimming back down.

But even as it faded, he felt something bubbling deep within his fists—an untamed energy building and begging to be unleashed. Acting on pure instinct, he raised his arm and punched at the air in Beatrix’s direction.

BANG!

The deafening boom rattled the battlefield. A massive yellow fist of Ki erupted from his strike, bursting forward with incredible speed and raw force. Beatrix’s eyes widened in shock, too late to react.

The colossal fist smashed into her, its impact lifting her completely off her feet. Blood sprayed from her mouth as she was hurled violently through the air, crashing down with bone-jarring force.
