Chapter 532: Chapter 50 Property Custody
“Lord Anvis, the person you pointed out seems to harbor ill intentions towards us!”
After detecting the hidden danger, the elf quickly proceeded to detect everyone else accompanying the prince.
Even though Anvis did not say it, the presence of one enemy with a hidden identity in the team suggests there might well be a second one.
Fortunately, after the detection, the panels of the other members showed that they were either the friendly green or the neutral yellow.
Anvis could see this clearly as well.
The system panel judges whether someone is an enemy based on whether they possess the desire to attack.
This means that although the person is maintaining a disguise at the moment, they have probably been preparing to move against Lanno and his group. Even the member who went missing earlier could very likely have been secretly murdered by them.
Now he has two choices: first, to watch and wait for the enemy to reveal themselves and determine their motive; second, to immediately expose their disguise and nip the threat in the bud.
Both options have their pros and cons, but after secretly divining, Anvis decides to maintain the status quo for the time being.
According to the divination, exposing them now could trigger some unknown unfavorable change, and might even pose a certain threat to him!
After all, considering Anvis’s true strength at the moment, he could be deemed as overwhelmingly powerful within the current Radiant Secret Realm.
Moreover, owing to the peculiar changes in the Old Secret Realm from before, Anvis has already made some guesses — this time, it might still involve machinations by the Alien God Sect.
“What shall we do? Lord Anvis, shall we warn Prince Lanno?”
At this moment, the elf has seemingly unintentionally moved behind Anvis and is communicating with him through a secret technique of messaging.
“No, we don’t need to do anything, Rivers. Pretend as if you haven’t noticed anything for now. We will wait for them to act first.”
Hearing the elf’s request, Anvis shakes his head and then smiles amiably at Lanno’s companions, showing his goodwill.
Waiting for the enemy to reveal themselves has many advantages, and most crucially, Anvis does not want the enemy to realize too soon that he can see through their concealment.
Anvis is certain that if someone can trigger his sense of danger, then there couldn’t possibly be just one pawn deployed by the enemies into the Radiant Secret Realm.
Rather than startling the snakes in the grass prematurely, it’s better to wait until all the enemies have fully assembled before capturing them all in one fell swoop.
Of course, the one who has to take the most significant risk in this plan is Prince Lanno himself.
But without ascertaining the motives of these people, everyone who enters the Radiant Secret Realm will be in danger.
For the greater good, one has to painfully let a minority make the sacrifice… after all, Lanno seems to be unaware of this.
Anvis swears in his heart that if Lanno really does suffer a misfortune and dies, he will definitely seek revenge for him immediately.
“…I understand, Lord Anvis.”
The elf casts a surreptitious glance at Prince Lanno, who is scrutinizing an ancient stone plate and seems to be searching for something, and momentarily mourns for the Last Dragon Descendant.
“Dear Prince Lanno, before we explore that tower, I have a question to ask you.”
Watching Lanno’s actions, Anvis suddenly speaks.
“What is it?”
Lanno looks at Anvis somewhat puzzled.
“Do you have any personal secret vaults? Or any personal secret forces and assets?”
Anvis spoke in a gentle tone.
“There may be some dangers in that tower, you know, if something happens to you here, then they can only be regretfully taken by your brothers, or lie quietly rotting in some dark corner.”
“Now, you have an opportunity to entrust them to me in advance…”
“No need to bother, my dear Anvis, I have already made arrangements for this.”
After hearing Anvis’s words, Lanno’s eyelids twitched, declining Anvis’s ‘kind’ offer.
“Well, I’ve already agreed with my companions to explore this city first, and meet again in front of the Core Tower one day later. I wonder what your plans are, Lanno.”
Unable to extract any remaining value from Lanno, Anvis could only regretfully give up.
“I plan to first explore the western area of these city ruins, and then move on to the tower.”
Lanno also did not intend to explore the Central Tower immediately; he seemed to have some clues and was now clearly looking for certain things.
“Coincidentally, one of my companions is currently in that direction, I can conveniently retrieve her on the way.”
After discovering the presence of that hidden enemy, Anvis also decided not to continue acting alone, hence the two temporarily decided to explore together.
Moreover, upon learning of Lanno’s action plan, Anvis was somewhat surprised to find out that Xia Ye Yinghuo was also in that direction.
Once the goal was unified, the group immediately set off towards the western area of the city—where those gigantic buildings were situated, like giants living near a dwarf tribe.
There is no distinction between day and night in the Radiant Secret Realm, and time could only be judged by the indications on the pocket watch.
Under the peculiar grey-white radiance in the sky, the group walked across the wide cyan-grey stone steps and through the old yet enticing streets.
These massive stone steps had once been trodden by High Elves, Giant Dragons, and Titans.
Now, as countless years passed, the huge rocks had become somewhat loose, far from their once stalwart firmness.
Many strange and elegant buildings gradually receded beside them, those solemn mythical creature statues, the splendid Pearl Rock colonnades, terraced Elf-Style houses, and exquisitely carved stone arch bridges.
The entire city ruins were shrouded in an ancient and mysterious atmosphere. In Anvis’s Perception, those extremely distant, seemingly forgotten fragments were still vaguely lingering in the city.
Even though they were weathered by time, they still shimmered with a faint radiance, as if still recounting the prosperity of the past to the newcomers.
Soon, under the determined lead of Lanno, the group entered the western area of the city.
The buildings around them grew larger, and their style shifted from the refined elegance of elves to a rugged beauty.
Taking out a stone tablet from his chest and confirming the direction, Lanno led the group into a huge building that resembled a temple and then entered the underground labyrinth through a secret passageway behind a Titan Statue clad in war armor at the rear of the building.
Getting to this point, a hint of oddity reappeared on Anvis’s face.
Because according to his Divination, the distance between himself and Xia Ye Yinghuo was also getting closer.
After winding through the underground for half a day, bypassing numerous Protection Magics and Ancient Magic Statues, Lanno finally led the group, not without difficulty, to a Stone Gate.
He observed the structure of the Stone Gate and then drew a Special symbol, similar to the moon, with Magic Power on the circular Secret Silver Plate embedded in the surface of the gate.
Confirming the Secret Key was correct, the Secret Silver Plate emitted a silvery-white Radiance, and the heavy Stone Gate slowly rose.
“Ah! Anvis, you’ve come to rescue me!”
Inside the secret chamber, hearing the sound of the opening door, Xia Ye Yinghuo, who was idly squatting in a corner browsing forums, instantly stood up excitedly, looking at the smiling Anvis waving to her at the doorway, and Prince Lanno, who was stunned.
