Chapter 821: Arrival

Chapter 821: Arrival

"Christina!" Clovis shouted.

"No worries. Attack!" Christina moved forward and activated her unique ability, stopping the bull’s charge. "Go!"

Clovis had already stood next to the giant bull. It looked like the latter had noticed him as well and realized the threat Clovis possessed.

It wanted to turn around and charge at him instead, but its body continued pushing against Christina.

"You’re not going anywhere." Christina smirked, her unique ability reaching its limit. "Clovis. Hurry!"

Clovis took a deep breath. His sword was still sheathed. His right foot stepped forward as Clovis drew his sword, swinging it from above.

The ranged attack extended his strike and hit the bull’s tough neck. Unfortunately, even that tough hide wasn’t enough to stop this single slash as it cleanly cut through the neck and continued for another thirty meters.

All the people couldn’t help but widen their eyes. For the past two days, Clovis had been conserving his energy. He joined the fight, but commanding was his top priority.

This was probably the first time Clovis had taken a fight seriously. And it was against a Tier 7 beast.

Even though Christina blocked its attack and prevented the beast from advancing, they were almost out of the tower’s protection. In other words, the beast should have at least 90% of its true strength.

Yet, such a beast was cut down in a single sword strike. It would be weird if that didn’t shock anyone. After all, Clovis was still a Tier 5 human.

In the last strike, he activated the Abyss Time and drew the power from Andrewsarchus, which amplified his strength. Then, he used Mara’s Beast Manifestation Technique to increase his attack further.

Last but not least, there were items he got, which amplified his physical abilities to those of a Tier 6 human. Even without the food boosting his power, it was enough for Clovis to take down a Tier 7 beast that couldn’t defend itself.

The beast didn’t even have a chance to go berserk. Or more like, Clovis didn’t give it that chance so that the beast wouldn’t become even more troublesome.

"Huu...." Clovis exhaled.

Christina smiled. "Thank you for your hard work."

Before replying to her, Clovis took a look around to confirm whether the situation was under control.

"The beasts really become tougher here." Clovis sighed. "Two Tier 7 beasts and a dozen of Tier 6 beasts, along with some other beasts... And we haven’t even reached that place."

"Yeah. That’s why we have to be careful. But the good thing is we get a lot of high-tier essence here." Christina shrugged. "If only our city could have a place like this, we could get a lot of high-tier essence."

"It might have. We just haven’t discovered it yet." Clovis shrugged. "After all, it was long abandoned, so there was not much exploration done there."

"Fair point." Christina nodded. "It looks like my job is done. Everything is under control."

As if trying to prove her wrong, a beast suddenly growled while charging at them. Neither Christina nor Clovis did anything other than turn their heads around.

After all, a powerful bullet abruptly hit its head and blasted open its skull.

"Hey, don’t lower your guard!" Kanaria protested. "If not for me, you would be in danger."

"I saw that coming, but I believed you would shoot it down. That’s why it’s under control." Christina shrugged.

"..." Kanaria rolled her eyes.

"Woof!"

"!!!" Kanaria hurriedly raised her weapon to shoot down another beast, but she realized it was actually Reolf returning.

"Reolf? Are you done?" Clovis raised his hand, wanting to give a good stroke on Reolf’s head.

However, Reolf shook its head and raised it, glaring at something on their back.

"Is something wrong?"

"Woof!"

Clovis couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows before turning around.

"Hmm?" Kanaria, Melody, and Christina felt weird about his movements, but they couldn’t feel anything.

There was nothing wrong with their surroundings. Melody even confirmed it. "There’s nothing on the radar."

However, Clovis believed in Reolf. He had unlocked another beast soul during his training with Mara. In fact, this beast soul was born thanks to Mara’s strength.

The beast soul was related to the sense of danger. Because Mara was extremely strong and dangerous, he had been honing his senses to find her, including the time she erased her presence. That was why his sensitivity had gone beyond the likes of Kanaria or Melody.

"Kanaria. Check the direction Reolf is looking at."

"One sec." Kanaria nodded and grabbed her binoculars. She carefully checked every gap between the trees before noticing the moving bushes.

"Hold on. I might have found something." Kanaria carefully followed the movement and saw shadows moving in the woods. "People spotted."

"Are they enemies?"

"Melody. I’m giving you the vision." Kanaria moved the binoculars forward so that the camera from the Skyglasses could capture their movement.

There were many people coming toward them. Melody immediately scanned their faces before searching for their identities.

"I don’t have a match. No, wait. Move to that one. The one with his bangs covering one of his eyes." Melody noticed something. As soon as she was able to take another look at the person, she instantly found the match. "Mateas Qlone. That’s the name of the one-eyed swordsman."

"!!!" All of them widened their eyes in shock. It looked like the other party had finally come.

Clovis immediately ordered, "Christina, Reolf. Hold them off. Kanaria, continue to monitor them and find out their snipers, if there are any. Melody, hide somewhere. I will go and kill the rest of the beasts as quickly as possible. Warn the others."

"Got it!" They instantly moved accordingly as Melody updated the information.

Clovis activated his Abyss Time and struck down multiple beasts with every strike, while shouting, "Go back. Get ready for another fight. Watch out for snipers!"

People were panicking, trying to scramble to the back to prepare for the incoming enemy. However, the question in Clovis, Melody, and Eid’s minds still remained. ’Is there someone who calls them?’
