Chapter 1880: Chapter 1272: Journey to Argus
The Dwarf King Magni, after pondering, finally decided to let his brother Brann go in his place to Argus. After all, his brother loves adventure and is used to running around.
The Gnomish leader, Head Engineer Mekkatorque, was more eager than anyone else, with shining eyes. In fact, Mekkatorque was extremely excited the first time he saw the Tribunal’s warship, but unfortunately, he hadn’t had the chance to go onboard before. Now that Duanmu Huai invited him, there was no reason not to go!
As for Outland, with the Tribunal guarding the Dark Portal, the one thousand “Lumber-Jack Mechs” were in place, aiding the Expeditionary Force in the evacuation process. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, so Mekkatorque didn’t hesitate to accept the invitation along with Varian.
What about the Night Elves?
Their leader was slapped in the face on the spot. Do they dare to make a move?
Do they really think the Tribunal wouldn’t dare to act?
If the Night Elves dared to make a move, the Tribunal would, without hesitation, burn all these Darkskinned into charcoal, without leaving a single one.
Having just finished lunch, and needing to hurry back for dinner, Duanmu Huai led the group back to Azeroth, then traveled by shuttle to the warship in orbit around Azeroth.
Though they were mentally prepared, when the group disembarked from the shuttle, they were still greatly astonished by the Tribunal’s Gothic-style luxurious, grand, and solemn warship. Even Prophet Velen, who had interstellar travel experience, followed behind with a solemn and tense expression, not daring to breathe. The style of the Draenei ships was entirely different from the Tribunal’s. To Prophet Velen, the Gothic cathedral style of the Tribunal warship was indeed quite peculiar, especially with its giant skull motifs and towering statues, which made him somewhat nervous.
In theory, Velen had seen much of the world, but such a warship… he truly hadn’t seen before.
Among the crowd, Head Engineer Mekkatorque was the most prominent, bringing along a bunch of subordinates. Since disembarking from the shuttle, their eyes were as wide as light bulbs, constantly looking around. Still, these Gnomes were at least polite enough not to touch or wander around randomly.
On the other hand, the Dwarf named Brann Bronzebeard, if not held back by his compatriots beside him, would have run off somewhere by now.
Though he couldn’t run far anyway.
Additionally, among the crowd was a Mage named Khadgar. Duanmu Huai didn’t know him. However, seeing Varian and the others seemed to respect him greatly, when this Mage named Khadgar requested to accompany them, others spoke on his behalf. Although it was unclear what kind of Mage he was, the warship was large enough to include him. One sheep leads, the whole flock follows, after all, it’s no big deal.
“Let’s get going.”
On the bridge, Duanmu Huai directly gave the order, and Aikute swiftly executed the command. Soon, the Tribunal Fleet quickly jumped, entering the Net Path and advancing towards the coordinates provided by Prophet Velen.
“I never thought the world could be so vast.”
Standing on the bridge, looking at the endless star ocean around them, Varian sighed.
“I once traveled to the sea, and even then, I already felt the world was vast. But now, it seems the world is far broader than I imagined. Perhaps we shouldn’t focus solely on gain and loss in one place… but should explore the outside world…”
“The world is indeed vast, but it is also dangerous.”
Prophet Velen advised solemnly.
“We were also driven by curiosity back then, but the result brought disaster to our people and planet. We blindly trusted Sargeras’ lies and sold out almost everything we had. The accumulated years of Argus’ civilization were destroyed overnight, and my compatriots became slaves of the Burning Legion. Be careful, young man; who knows what kind of monsters are watching you in the depths of a dense jungle.”
“Ultimately, it’s because you are too weak.”
However, Duanmu Huai cut through Velen’s sentimentality with a single remark.
“If you were strong enough, you wouldn’t be deceived. Like the Tribunal, we are never afraid that someone would dare to deceive us; those who tried are all dead. Therefore, in the end, one’s own strength is the guarantee of safety. You can’t place all your hopes on outsiders. With your naivety, even if it wasn’t Sargeras and the Burning Legion, you’d likely face the same fate with another race.”
“And how about the Tribunal, Your Honor, the Judge?”
By now, Mekkatorque, who had been studying the control panel nearby, turned his head and asked, fixing his gaze on Duanmu Huai.
To this, Duanmu Huai just shrugged.
“You all know the Tribunal’s mission — our goal is to protect humanity and eliminate threats to humans. So if you are in danger, we will help. If not, we will only observe — we have no time to rule over those planets, and one’s destiny should be in one’s own hands, of course, you should bear the consequences. Just imagine, if your Alliance had internal conflicts, regardless of the reason, the Tribunal would neither care nor interfere. Fight how you want to fight; it’s your own business. But if an Alien species tries to take advantage of the situation, that falls within our Tribunal’s responsibilities.”
Hearing Duanmu Huai’s answer, everyone’s expressions turned slightly nuanced, but they said nothing more, leaving the bridge in silence.
After a while, Aikute’s voice rang out.
“We’ve arrived at the destination.”
As Aikute’s voice fell, the star sky in front of them abruptly shifted, and a massive planet appeared before everyone.
Compared to the vibrant Azeroth, the planet Argus before them was a completely different sight. The whole planet appeared incredibly desolate, with burning fel flames penetrating even the atmosphere, visible even in space. From a distance, the planet resembled a moldy, rusty iron ball, evoking disgust.
“Is this Argus?”
Seeing this planet, Varian, Brann, and Mekkatorque all looked serious, while the Mage Khadgar appeared even more grave.
“Argus didn’t use to be like this.”
Sorrowfully gazing at his homeland, Prophet Velen sighed softly.
“Before the Burning Legion’s devastation, Argus was a planet as beautiful as Azeroth, but now, it’s completely transformed…”
Calming his emotions, Velen turned to Duanmu Huai.
“What should we do now, Your Honor, the Judge?”
“Not much.”
Duanmu Huai pointed to the screen in front of them, where several warships of the Burning Legion had apparently already spotted the intruders and were quickly approaching.
“First, we take out these mortal flies, and then… Aikute, is the Colossus ready?”
“Ready at any time, uncle.”
“Good.”
Hearing Aikute’s response, Duanmu Huai nodded in satisfaction.
“Once we’ve dealt with these flies, let’s give this planet a thorough cleansing.”
