A Ray of Sunshine

Chapter 153 - 128 Hunter Warren was stunned as he looked at her: You want to help me wash?_4

Faye Townsend lowered her head in torment, her hands resting on her forehead, elbows propped on her knees.

She had to get Hunter Warren to leave, she had to ensure he stayed away from her children.

She could lose the entire world, but she couldn't lose Darnley and Miya; these two children were her life.

When Faye Townsend came upstairs, Hunter Warren was sitting by the bedside intently watching Miya, his gaze softer than she had ever seen.

She stood secretly by the door watching the father and daughter inside, and for a moment, her heart ached.

She felt guilty inside.

But she wasn't sorry for Hunter Warren; she was sorry for these two children.

They clearly had a father, but couldn't enjoy true fatherly love because she couldn't handle her relationship with their father.

She thought that by doubling her love for these two children, they would feel content.

But in truth, she knew they always longed for a father's love.

And this, precisely, was not something she could give them anymore.

She pushed the door open and entered, Hunter Warren turned his head to look at her, his brows slightly raised, "You're back?"

Faye Townsend nodded and walked to the sofa to sit down.

Hunter turned his gaze to her, "You've taken quite enough time to enjoy your leisure.

I thought you weren't planning to come back."

"If Miya weren't here, I wouldn't have come back."

"Alright, I know you didn't come back because of me, so you don't need to be in such a hurry to distance yourself from me.

I won't force you anymore, I'll just stay by you.

Whenever you're willing to come back, I'll be waiting"

Faye Townsend spoke in a low voice; this was the thing she hated to hear the most.

After she comes back, does he really think that after all the hurting they've done to each other, they could happily live together again?

Reflecting on the past fourteen years, her feelings for him were a mix of love and hate.

But she was rational; she was no longer an eighteen or nineteen-year-old girl. She understood that some hurts cannot be undone in this lifetime.

Because the scars in her heart already existed.

Faye Townsend didn't plan to waste time arguing with him; instead, she picked up a book to read.

At noon, Lucia and Darnley came to deliver food.

Faye Townsend was afraid Darnley would disturb Miya's rest, so she stipulated that Darnley could only visit Miya at noon.

Darnley obeyed her words obediently.

Lucia helped feed Miya, while Darnley told her little stories on the side.

Faye Townsend walked over to the coffee table, and seeing only one serving of food, she thought for a moment and said, "You eat, I'm not hungry."

Hunter Warren knew she was speaking to him.

Looking at the steak in the lunchbox, Hunter Warren pondered for a moment and said, "Lucia, I want to take Faye out for a meal, can you watch over Miya and Darnley for us? We'll be back shortly."

"Of course," Lucia readily nodded.

Faye Townsend said, "I won't go out to eat with you, you go by yourself, I'll just eat the food Lucia brought."

Hunter Warren smiled and grabbed her wrist, "Alright, stop being stubborn, I'm really hungry. Just accompany me, let's go!"

Faye Townsend wanted to resist, but with Darnley, Miya, and Lucia all watching, she ultimately didn't resist and followed Hunter Warren out of the

ward.

After they left, Darnley mysteriously said to Miya, "Miya, do you know who that uncle is?"

"He's Hunter Warren, my infinite pocket," Miya replied.

"No, no, he's Faye's husband, he's our dad."

"Really?" Miya looked at him in surprise, "But... we already have Dad Tu and Dad Guo."

"He said that Dad Tu and Dad Guo will get married and have their own kids in

the future.

But he's already married, and the bride is Faye, so he's our dad.

He also said he'd treat Faye and us well in the future."

Miya's lips curved into a very beautiful arch, "Really?

Well... he did spend the whole morning with me today, and it seems he really treats me well."

The siblings chatted earnestly, and thinking they would have a dad, they

couldn't help but feel happy.

Faye Townsend and Hunter Warren reached the elevator, and she withdrew her

wrist from his grip, "Hunter Warren, I really don't want to eat."

"It's not that you don't want to eat, you just don't want to eat with me.

But that's not an option, Darnley and Miya just saw me bring you out.

I have to make sure you're fed, so protesting is futile now." He forcefully grabbed her wrist again and led her into the elevator.

Faye Townsend was somewhat passive, even letting him drive the car. After making a phone call, he navigated them to a Chinese restaurant.

"Western food isn't nutritious when your body is weak.

Chinese people should nurture themselves with traditional Chinese methods,

let's go."

Faye Townsend didn't oppose his suggestion, since they were already there, might as well eat before leaving.

Once inside, Hunter Warren ordered black chicken soup, steamed fish, and two

vegetarian dishes.

The two sat in the spacious private room, and Faye Townsend didn't know what

to say to him.

Hunter Warren wanted to find topics to chat with her, but she just answered vaguely, each topic ending before it began.

Knowing she was unwilling to talk with him, he simply stopped speaking.

The dishes came first, and Faye Townsend ate casually.

About twenty minutes later, the chicken soup was finally brought up.

Hunter Warren personally served her the soup, removing the chicken skin before putting the meat in her bowl.

"Here, eat up, drink more, you've been too exhausted these days, this will

replenish your energy."

Looking at the chicken with the skin removed, Faye Townsend's eyes became

wet.

He remembered... he actually remembered...
