Chapter 608: Chapter 312 I’m Going to Be a Dad (3 More)_2
Evie Larkin bit her lip, originally planning to sit down, but after hesitating for a moment, she chose to stand by old Mr. Forrest’s wheelchair instead.
Old Mr. Forrest turned his head and looked at her: "Why isn’t Evie sitting?"
"Old Mr. Forrest, I’d rather not sit, I’ll go back to my room, and not disturb your chatting."
"No need for that, if you prefer to stay downstairs, just stay here, I’ll take Jane Quinlan upstairs."
Kay Forrest stood up, holding Jane Quinlan’s hand: "Dad, we’ll go upstairs for a bit, call me if you need anything."
Grayson Forrest nodded, it was indeed awkward for these youngsters to gather together, and he didn’t insist.
Jane Quinlan’s face was the epitome of awkwardness: "Uncle, it so happens I have something to discuss with Forrest.
After we talk, I’ll come down and join you for a chat."
"Okay, no problem, you guys do your thing, don’t mind me over here."
She followed Kay Forrest upstairs, and as soon as the door was closed, he eagerly turned around to embrace and kiss her.
Jane Quinlan was kissed until she was almost out of breath.
Only when she got a break did she pat his shoulder and push him away.
"Alright, alright, big brother, can you stop being so clingy?"
"I can’t do that, we haven’t seen each other for four days.
Do you know what my little brother has turned into because of loneliness?
Every night, sitting under the moon, crying. It’s breaking my heart."
Kay Forrest’s expression was a bit exaggerated, sure.
But Jane Quinlan immediately looked down at his lower half: "Then your little brother is truly talented.
It can actually stroll down to the moon by itself, what, did it want to drink to the moon alone?"
Kay Forrest flicked her forehead: "There you go, learning to tease me.
It’s rare to see, don’t torture me and my brother anymore.
Come on, be good and make friends with my little brother."
Jane Quinlan smiled speechlessly and pressed down on him: "Forrest, wait a minute, I really have something to tell you.
Can you let me finish before you start messing around?"
Kay Forrest sat down at the edge of the bed as he retreated: "Okay, okay, go ahead, but make it quick."
"Didn’t I say I would give you a gift?" She smiled mysteriously.
"Aren’t you the gift already? What other gift is there?" He was surprised for a moment, looking at her bag.
"Of course, I’m the gift-giver. The real gift is something else."
She said, with a happy smile blooming on her face.
Kay Forrest hissed: "Your smile is kind of deep, I feel there’s a suspense.
Come on, give me my real gift."
"This gift is pre-deposited, it’ll take nine months before you can retrieve it."
Kay Forrest looked at her, feeling that something was not quite right: "Nine months?"
Jane Quinlan smiled, raising her hand to gently touch her stomach.
"Yeah, it’s in here."
Kay Forrest’s face was a picture of perplexity, but after three seconds, he caught on: "You’re pregnant?"
Jane Quinlan gently nodded: "Yes, I’m pregnant."
"Did you check it at the hospital? Are you sure?" Kay Forrest’s voice grew louder with each question.
Jane Quinlan took out the test results from her bag and handed them to him: "Here, this is the result from when I went to the hospital for a test after you left, absolutely true, okay?"
Kay Forrest looked at it, even though the numbers didn’t make much sense to him.
But he immediately stood up, looking at her with a serious expression.
Seeing his expression, Jane Quinlan got scared: "What’s the matter, why so serious all of a sudden? You... you don’t like kids, do you?"
Kay Forrest’s expression became even more serious.
Jane Quinlan’s heart thumped erratically.
Could it be that her damned cousin had guessed right?
The news of her pregnancy wasn’t a pleasant surprise, but a fright?
Didn’t the cousin say, men are scared of such sudden ’surprises’?
Jane Quinlan’s face also turned a few degrees colder: "Kay Forrest, don’t you scare me. Give me some reaction, will you? Do you really not like kids?"
Kay Forrest burst into a hearty laugh, suddenly picked her up, and started spinning around on the spot.
"My God, I’m going to be upgraded to a dad, I’m going to be a dad!"
"Oh, I’m so dizzy, Kay Forrest, put me down, I’m feeling dizzy."
Kay Forrest hurriedly stopped and put her down onto the bed, squatting in front of her: "How are you feeling now, any better? Still feeling dizzy?"
Jane Quinlan exhaled: "Why are you acting like a child?"
"I’m happy, I’m so happy, I’m going to be a dad."
Seeing his reaction now, Jane Quinlan finally breathed a sigh of relief; this stinky man, actually scaring her.
Kay Forrest held her hand and pressed it to his lips: "I’m just too happy right now.
How should I express the excitement I’m feeling inside?
Jane, I’m feeling a bit over the moon.
So this is what it feels like to be a real father for the first time.
This feeling of anticipation is different from usual. Do you feel the same way?"
Jane Quinlan looked at him, her eyes filled with love.
"These past few days, I’ve felt a great sense of responsibility.
After we become a mom and dad, responsibilities will become heavier.
Kay Forrest, are you scared of being a dad?"
"Scared? What’s there to be afraid of?
Just you wait and see, Jane, I will be the best dad in the whole world.
You don’t have to be afraid either, rest assured, I’m confident that together, we’ll become the best parents."
"Yeah, I believe you. With you, there is nothing I can’t do."
Kay Forrest’s smile grew even wider.
"Oh right, I need to go tell my dad this great news.
If he finds out he’s going to be a grandpa soon, he will be so happy.
He always urges me about this whenever he calls each year.
He often uses Faye Townsend to stimulate me as well.
Now it’s my turn to give him a bit of joy."
Kay Forrest stood up, pulled the door open, and ran out, shouting as he went downstairs: "Dad, Dad, I’ve got great news for you, the best news ever!"
He sprinted to Grayson Forrest like an excited child.
Grayson Forrest stared at him: "What news has got you so worked up?"
"Jane Quinlan is pregnant, I’m going to be a dad, Dad, I’m going to be a daddy.
I’m so happy, you know how I’m feeling right now?"
Grayson Forrest’s lips curled into a smile, clearly delighted.
But he was trying hard to suppress his joy.
Nolan Moore glanced up and noticed Evie Larkin, who suddenly seemed very disheartened, knowing she must be feeling uncomfortable.
"Dad, are you happy? You’re going to be a grandpa."
Grayson Forrest grunted: "You kid, I knew you wouldn’t just wait nicely to get married and have children."
"Enough old man, stop secretly enjoying and scolding me at the same time.
Hurry and pick a date to prepare for your son’s wedding.
We can’t delay this, we can’t wait until your grandkids are born to do it."
Evie Larkin stood up from the sofa, her complexion somewhat pale: "Old Forrest, I’m going out for a walk."
Before Grayson Forrest could respond, Evie Larkin had already turned and walked out.
She reached the door and closed it heavily behind her, clenching her fists tightly.
Pregnant? Jane Quinlan is actually pregnant? No wonder she came back; she’s here to flaunt it in my face, for sure.
This woman is truly disgusting.
Always knew her innocence was just an act.
