Chapter 280: Chapter 179: Farewell, Last Diaper Warriors
He paused: "If he wants to investigate the red light, he should act alone and temporarily send away the people of the White Crow Travel Brigade."
Ke Qirui was silent for a moment, holding a cigarette holder in her mouth, "I understand."
"So, how long until we reach London?" Black Cocoon casually asked.
"Twenty minutes."
"This speed is quite astonishing."
Black Cocoon hugged his shoulders and praised, then turned to look out the window. The Train Demon was traveling in a bizarre time-space tunnel.
"I’ll go take a rest then," Ke Qirui said, "Call me if there’s anything."
Having said that, she walked into the next carriage without looking back.
Xu Sanyan and Lin Zhengquan also left one after another, Lin Zhengquan glanced at Su Zimai before leaving, "Xiaomai, aren’t you going to rest for a while?"
"No, I have something to talk to him about." Su Zimai shook his head.
"Alright." Lin Zhengquan closed the door.
Only Black Cocoon and Su Zimai remained in the carriage, the mottled light and shadows enveloping their figures.
"You can’t hang yourself up, looking quite uncomfortable." Su Zimai looked at him and mocked.
"You’ve found that out, Ice-Cold Diaper Demon Miss."
"Call me that again, and I’ll kill you."
"Okay, Miss Su Zimai," Black Cocoon said, flipping open a comic.
"What comic are you reading, can I take a look too?" Su Zimai asked.
"Isn’t it better to read on your phone, do you prefer reading on paper?" Black Cocoon said.
"There’s no signal inside the Train Demon’s stomach," Su Zimai said, "Otherwise, would I be so bored as to borrow a book from you?"
"Alright then, I’ll reluctantly lend it to you." Black Cocoon scratched his head, "Be careful not to tear it, I borrowed this from the bookstore owner. Last night a neurotic collaborator filled the borrowed book with bombs, preventing me from returning the book, and the owner gave me a hard time."
He handed the comic book "Goodbye, Eri" to Su Zimai with a restraint belt.
Su Zimai hesitated for a moment, then reached out to take the comic book: "Thanks."
"What’s this comic about?"
"A mother gets a terminal illness, is about to die, and asks the protagonist to film a movie to record her final moments, then..."
"Don’t spoil it."
"But you asked me to tell."
"I ask you to tell, so you do?"
Black Cocoon was silent for a while: "Uh... let’s discuss the use and wearing method of diapers."
"I’m really curious, what kind of person is beneath your mask."
"What kind of person do you think I am?" Black Cocoon tilted his head and asked.
Su Zimai looked down at the comic book, pondered, "A man in his thirties, who has read many books, with an innocent childish heart but is an introverted uncle?"
"The ’read many books’ and ’innocent childish heart’ are true." Black Cocoon said.
"Haha."
"This comic is quite short; you should be able to finish it before we get off the train." Black Cocoon said, glancing at the carriage ahead, "Speaking of which, have you told the others of the Ghost Train Corps?"
"Told what?"
"Your brother’s identity."
Su Zimai was silent for a while: "Not yet."
"Why?" Black Cocoon said, "If you tell, it should shock them, right?"
"I want to earn others’ respect through my own strength, not as ’Blue Arc’s sister’." Su Zimai said softly.
"You are a serious good kid." Black Cocoon said.
The carriage slightly jolted, a brief silence enveloped the two.
"Mom." Su Zimai suddenly said.
Black Cocoon was taken aback.
"I mean... this comic makes me think of Mom." Su Zimai looked down at the page of the comic, staring at the protagonist’s mother, "It would be nice if she were still here."
Black Cocoon was silent for a moment.
"Actually, you’re quite good despite your crappy mouth," Su Zimai said, "I watched the video of your first appearance when I went back; if it weren’t for you, my stupid brother might have worn Green Wing’s handcuffs."
She paused: "I didn’t know Blue Arc was my brother at first and watched with the attitude of enjoying the show... Looking back now, I realize how dangerous it was and almost suffocated. I can’t bear to think what the outcome would be if he had worn those handcuffs."
"He’s Blue Arc," Black Cocoon said, "Even if I hadn’t arrived, he would have solved the enemy like a bolt of lightning with a perfect ending."
"Really?" Su Zimai’s gaze paused on the book page.
"Yes." Black Cocoon nodded.
"You’re lying." Su Zimai said, "Anyone can see that my brother’s speed was much slower then..."
She paused, softly asked, "Was he hurt then, seriously injured, yet still forcing himself to confront Green Wing to save the hostages?"
Black Cocoon silently stared at her face for a while, then shrugged and frankly replied: "You guessed right, your good brother just fought the super criminal ’Ghost Bell,’ hastily treated a deadly injury, then went to the central square to meet Green Wing."
Su Zimai was silent.
Her head was lowered, eyes covered by her bangs, after a long breath, she murmured to herself: "As expected... I guessed it, he’s just that silly."
"That’s why I say, everyone in your family has a monk-like spirit," Black Cocoon shook his head, "Simply ridiculous."
After a brief silence, Su Zimai softly said: "You can joke about me as much as you want, I won’t be angry anymore... because you saved my brother and me."
"Stop, stop, you’re making it sound like I’m bullying a little girl; I don’t feel the fun anymore." Black Cocoon shook his head, "Okay... don’t make that face, I won’t joke about the Diaper Demon with you anymore."
Su Zimai nodded: "If you ever need help, I’ll definitely help you with all my might."
"Of course," Black Cocoon said, suddenly squinting his eyes, "Wait a minute... Was your aim to make me say ’I won’t joke about diapers anymore’?"
"You never break your promise; you said it yourself!" Su Zimai cheerfully hummed twice, while looking up at him, her mouth curling into a sly smile.
Black Cocoon looked at the gleam in her eyes, after a moment shook his head: "I’ve to hand it to you, but indeed I never break a promise."
He covered his forehead, muttering to himself: "Could it be, this is... the last diaper? Goodbye, all diaper warriors."
"We agreed, if you joke about it again, I’ll bite you to death!"
"Of course."
"The comic is back to you. Actually, I can’t understand it; I’m going to sleep." Su Zimai stuffed "Goodbye, Eri" back into his hand.
Black Cocoon took the comic book, then waved to her with a restraint belt, watching her figure disappear at the end of the next carriage.
"Don’t die before me, sis..." he thought, "I still want to fake my death for fun, if your family dies before me, what’s the point of my fake death plan?"
