Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Lu Zheng is in Great Health
Shen Ying was even more excited than expected.
The sun had already risen high.
Lu Zheng leaned against the doorframe, feeling a warmth as the sunlight filtered through the branches and leaves of the old peach tree.
"Where’s Qingyan?"
"Miss Liu went on a medical visit today, she already had breakfast and went back." Xiaocui came over with a copper basin, serving Lu Zheng as he washed up.
Lu Zheng nodded. Last night, the three of them joined forces, with Shen Ying holding the main position. Liu Qingyan was just supporting, so she wasn’t too exhausted.
Lu Zheng, however, being in the main tank position, took the most hits and hence slept until broad daylight.
After Lu Zheng washed up, Shen Ying also got up, casually freshened up, and pulled Lu Zheng to the front hall for breakfast.
"Where are the Eighteen Celestial Maidens?" Lu Zheng asked.
Speaking of which, he didn’t see the Eighteen Peach Blossom Celestial Maidens when he arrived yesterday and thought they weren’t in the manor at the time, but they weren’t there this morning either...
Shen Ying laughed, "They’ve all hidden in the peach trees and are in seclusion cultivating."
"I see!" Lu Zheng nodded in understanding.
While having breakfast with Shen Ying, Lu Zheng talked about his encounter with Hu Zhou and his son, and his visit to Dingfeng Mountain.
Shen Ying knew about Hu Zhou as they first met at Peach Blossom Plain.
However, Shen Ying wasn’t involved in later events, so she hadn’t met Hu Zhou’s mother or Hu Yijun.
Of course, she knew about events afterward but didn’t expect Lu Zheng to run into them during his trip to the Southern Border.
"Who knew that casually taking a disciple would turn out to be the son of the Southern Border Great Demon," Shen Ying said, resting her chin in her hand, smiling at Lu Zheng, "Little Sister Qingyan is truly blessed, with hopes for longevity."
"Pretty lucky," Lu Zheng chuckled, "Too bad you can’t... Hey? Can you join us in October?"
Shen Ying laughed, shaking her head, "Of course not, I don’t even have five hundred years of Dao Practice, how could I leave the main body of the old peach tree?"
"So, you’re saying all you need is five hundred years of Dao Practice?" Lu Zheng asked.
"I don’t know," Shen Ying shook her head, "Dao Practice is Dao Practice, though related to Divine Soul Cultivation, it can’t be generalized. Without reaching the stage, I can’t even sense it."
"So..." Shen Ying shrugged like Lu Zheng did and smiled, "It indicates that I am still far from having a pure Divine Soul and traveling the vast universe."
"Alright," Lu Zheng understood, "But it’ll get quicker over time, right?"
Shen Ying’s eyes lit up, "Of course!"
With the origin of "Peach Blossoms," Shen Ying was full of confidence.
...
After breakfast and spending some tender moments with Shen Ying, Lu Zheng returned to Tonglin County.
Passing by Renxin Hall, he wanted to greet Liu Qingyan but saw her treating a patient, with a woman, Du Yueyao, sitting beside her.
"Lu Lang!"
Seeing Lu Zheng, Liu Qingyan’s eyes turned into crescents as she smiled and invited him in.
"Uncle Liu, Qingyan, Yueyao."
Lu Zheng greeted them upon entering and went to Liu Qingyan’s side.
"Short of breath, sweating like dew, breathing up and unable to speak, feeling like vomiting. This old fellow is ill in the lungs." Liu Qingyan remarked.
She had Du Yueyao take the pulse of the patient while she took up a pen and paper to prescribe a treatment for lung heat.
After Du Yueyao let go, Liu Qingyan instructed the elderly man and his family to get the medicine and began explaining the difference between lung heat and lung deficiency to Du Yueyao.
Liu Qingyan taught with detail, while Du Yueyao studied earnestly.
Seeing the two women so focused, Lu Zheng pondered that perhaps teaching could also be a fitting career for Liu Qingyan besides being a doctor.
Hmm...
What am I thinking?
Lu Zheng shook his head to dismiss the thought from his mind.
Seeing Lu Zheng shaking his head, Liu Qingyan couldn’t help but ask, "Lu Lang, what are you doing?"
"Nothing," Lu Zheng replied, "Just a bit tired from just waking up."
While Du Yueyao was puzzled, Liu Qingyan blushed.
Even though she knew Lu Zheng was joking, Liu Qingyan still bit her lip slightly, her eyes charming like silk, "Do you want Qingyan to prescribe you some medicine?"
Her eyes glanced downward playfully.
"Ahem!"
Lu Zheng cleared his throat and straightened his chest, "No need, this young master has mastered Martial Dao, my health is excellent, just need some rest!"
Seeing Liu Qingyan giggle, Lu Zheng’s eyes twinkled as he said, stressing each word, "By tonight I’ll be perfectly fine!"
Liu Qingyan understood what Lu Zheng meant, blushed, and gave him a pleading look, indicating that Du Yueyao was still present.
Lu Zheng blinked, so he stopped teasing and went back to normal chatting.
...
After having lunch together, Lu Zheng went home first and took an afternoon rest.
In the evening, while gently rubbing the sachet Liu Qingyan gave him, he saw Liu Qingyan timidly appearing at his bedroom door.
"Lu Lang~"
Seeing Lu Zheng’s eyes sparkle, Liu Qingyan’s cheeks reddened, her eyes soft, her voice shy, "Please be gentle, Lu Lang~"
...
Lu Zheng proved that he was in good health and didn’t need medicine.
Liu Qingyan agreed that Lu Zheng was right!
...
Early the next morning, Lu Zheng comfortably time-traveled back to the modern day.
To spend the weekend with Lin Wan.
Recently, Lu Zheng had a pretty regular routine in the modern world.
Traveling to the past early morning to journey.
Return before dinner, either making dinner for Lin Wan or enjoying a feast together outside, then ending with a restful sleep.
Then back at it the next day.
Though recently, the days returned to being irregular.
Nonetheless, Lin Wan was used to it now, at least Lu Zheng hadn’t skipped their promised weekend together.
"You guys have been pretty idle lately!"
After Lu Zheng and Lin Wan toured Fulong Plaza, bought several outfits for the summer, and watched a movie in the afternoon, they went to the fifth floor to have hotpot right after six.
"Most cross-border cases, we just need to coordinate and communicate messages, the action team doesn’t have to step in." Lin Wan said, "But once the action team is needed..."
"It’s a major case!" Lu Zheng continued.
"Right, it at least involves well-known figures or is a severe life-threatening case." Lin Wan nodded.
"Got it!" Lu Zheng then asked, "What about that last case, any follow-up?"
Lin Wan scoffed, "I asked the Interpol Japan branch, after Hatanaka Shingo was assassinated, only that assassin organization was exposed, most assassins were taken down, but the leader wasn’t found, nor the mastermind.
As for Silver Light Group, it was quickly divided and devoured by several big conglomerates."
"You didn’t inquire about the Matsushima Clan?"
"No, I didn’t dare, worried about drawing attention." Lin Wan shook her head.
"And the Osaka Naval Base incident?"
Lin Wan replied exasperatedly, "Even more so no, there’s not a shred of public information about the naval base incident."
Lu Zheng laughed heartily, "The key point is, nearly a month has passed, and nobody came to test you, right?"
Lin Wan pondered, "That’s true."
So, they definitely were safe now.
And since they were safe, it called for a celebration of course...
