Taking a day off to sort out upcoming developments and ramble a bit.
At last, our little green mushroom has truly taken control of a dungeon—congratulations~
From now on, Amethyst Dungeon may slowly get renamed to either Puji Dungeon or Mushroom Dungeon. Which do you all prefer?
If I were to split into volumes, this would be the ending of Volume One.
As for the final boss of the dungeon arc being the Yellow Book—how many readers saw that coming?
Though it went down in just two chapters, its scheming against the protagonist had begun long ago.
And strictly speaking, from a strategy standpoint, it was the Yellow Book who won.
Some readers might see that as a “poison spot” [a frustrating plot choice], but I never intended to write an omniscient, puppet-master genius protagonist.
After all, I only have ordinary intelligence myself—if I forced a “super-genius MC,” it’d inevitably become a case of shooting the arrow first and drawing the target later.
From Lin Jun’s perspective, readers can see his thought process—how he hides and transfers his body, sets up backup plans. Not flawless, but never something like deliberately making dumb mistakes that could’ve been avoided. For example, with the dungeon core, he did try it himself first, only sought the Yellow Book when desperate, and even tore out pages to weaken it beforehand. But against absolute information disparity, he fell into the trap anyway.
Likewise, the Yellow Book also lost because of information disparity—it never knew how unusual Lin Jun really was.
The MC’s “special qualities” will gradually unfold in later arcs—he’s far more than just some so-called “Hero.”
In short—our mushroom lord has high tolerance for mistakes. Being tricked now and then is fine. I won’t write the kind of story where villains grind the MC into misery. The tone stays the same: happy mushroom farming while slowly breaking the world ==
…
Next, the story will shift toward other dungeons and the surface, with a major new arc beginning: the Human–Demon War.
Give me a day to sort out the entry point.
Oh, and Pink Puji will finally be getting more scenes!
