Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Muzha Walker Strongly Suppressed [Seeking Recommendation Tickets] _1

Sha Chen sneered inwardly; this was exactly what he wanted. He didn’t want to openly break with them so quickly either. But now, it was time to teach Muzha a lesson and show him his strength.

Using the Three Heads and Six Arms technique from his 72 Polymorphic Transformations, several of his hands instantly shot out, blocking the opening in the Formation.

Muzha thought to himself, This isn’t good! He’s blocking the entrance. If I hit him with all my strength, I might kill him. It’s better to hold back and just leave him seriously injured.

THWACK!

A figure shining with golden light swooped down. Sha Chen slapped at it, and the figure was sent flying backward out of the water at an even faster speed, disappearing without a trace.

Sha Chen yelled from within the water, "Who dares try to harm a Holy Monk of Buddhism? Are all the Buddhas of Buddhism dead? Though I am but a humble man, I cannot stand by and do nothing!"

Then he threw Jin Chanzi to the opposite bank of the river. "Off you go!"

He returned inside the Formation, sealed the entrance to his underwater dwelling, and did not go out again.

Muzha, who had been slapped away, was having an existential crisis. How is he so strong?! I’m an early-stage Greater Primordial Golden Immortal, yet I couldn’t withstand a single slap from him?!

Jin Chanzi, having been thrown to the opposite bank, was dumbfounded. I’m a Holy Monk, not a sack of leftovers! How could he just throw me like that?!

Jin Chanzi, though dazed and aching from the fall, scrambled to his feet and crawled towards the Flowing Sand River to kowtow.

"Thank you, Immortal, for saving my life! Thank you, Immortal..."

After performing three full kowtows and nine prostrations, he recited some Buddhist scriptures before finally standing up to look for his disciples.

He then called out, "Kind Immortal, please show your benevolence and help this disciple by bringing my horse over as well!"

The horse was still on the eastern bank. But no matter how many times Jin Chanzi called out, there was no response.

After a sorrowful sigh, he consoled himself, An Immortal certainly wouldn’t deign to do such a menial task. I’ll have to find another horse for the journey.

My disciples haven’t returned yet, which truly unsettles me. Alas, the Journey to the West cannot be delayed. I’ll leave a sign for them and proceed alone.

He carved some marks on nearby trees and then continued westward alone.

Muzha was, in fact, hovering in the air, looking down with an incredibly complex expression. Being slapped away by Sha Chen had made him question his very existence. Now, seeing Jin Chanzi leave alone, he felt nothing, as his mission had already failed. Jin Chanzi would surely be eaten; by whom no longer mattered.

「Indeed, about half a year later, after traveling a great distance, Jin Chanzi was devoured by Kui Mulang, who had descended to the mortal realm disguised as the Yellow Robe Fiend Li Xiong.」

Muzha stared at the Flowing Sand River, his eyes flickering, unable to process what had just happened for a long time. How has his cultivation become so strong? He’s already surpassed me! And his physical body is terrifying too. He could shatter my Parting Light Flying Sword; his physique probably rivals that of a Greater Primordial Golden Immortal!

Muzha’s expression grew increasingly grim. Dejected, he returned to Luo Jia Mountain.

"Master, this disciple has failed the task you entrusted to me," Muzha said, kneeling and admitting his mistake.

Guanyin said, "I am already aware of the matter."

Muzha said, "Please punish me, Master."

Guanyin glanced at him and said, "Being no match for him is not your fault. He has grown too strong, too quickly. Even I failed to notice that he could reach such a level in merely a hundred years."

Muzha clenched his teeth. "Master, he refused to come out of the water and also forbade me from entering his dwelling. There must be a monumental secret hidden inside!"

Guanyin said, "For him to have become so powerful so quickly, his dwelling must indeed hold a secret. Very well, since you cannot enter, I shall pay him a visit personally another day."

Muzha was shocked. "Master, please reconsider! What virtue or ability does he possess to warrant a personal visit from you?"

Guanyin smiled. "The time is right. He has refused several times already. If I don’t go now, he will soon slip from our control."

Muzha then said, "This disciple still wishes to do something more for you, Master."

After a moment of silence, Guanyin said, "Your strength is no longer of use in this matter. Go and convert Ao Lie and Tianpeng."

"Go and summon your elder brother, Jinzha. He is a junior martial brother to Jin Chanzi. Let him be responsible for Sha Chen and Jin Chanzi from now on."

Muzha clenched his teeth. Though unwilling, he accepted the order and departed.

Jinzha was his elder brother and a named disciple under Tathagata Buddha, making him a junior martial brother to Jin Chanzi. His Mana was somewhat stronger than Muzha’s, but he was merely a late-stage Greater Primordial Golden Immortal.

He was indeed capable enough to handle Sha Chen, but being replaced by Jinzha still left Muzha feeling deeply reluctant. He secretly resolved that he absolutely must succeed in converting Tianpeng and Ao Lie; he could not disappoint his Master again.

Guanyin watched Muzha leave, her eyes flickering as she performed divinations with her fingers. Finally, she sighed. Indeed, even I cannot divine what is happening within the Flowing Sand River Cave. Juanlian, what secrets do you truly hold?

「At the Heavenly Court.」

Li Changgeng was passing by the Ninth Heaven Southern Heaven Gate.

The gatekeepers, Thousand-mile Eye and Downwind Ear, along with General Heng, Gudian Ha, Mighty Miracle God, and others, all greeted him.

"Sir Li, escorting the scripture pilgrim for the Journey to the West again? How is it going?" Mighty Miracle God asked with a laugh.

They were all unaware that the Heavenly Court had sold out Juanlian. They simply thought Li Changgeng was escorting Jin Chanzi (Gold Cicada’s third incarnation) on the Journey to the West.

Li Changgeng smiled. "The scripture pilgrim encountered a little trouble passing through the Flowing Sand River, but it has been resolved."

When he said "resolved," he didn’t mean the scripture pilgrim’s problem was resolved, but that the scripture pilgrim *himself* had been resolved! With Muzha taking action personally, the scripture pilgrim will definitely drown in the Flowing Sand River, and the blame will fall squarely on Sha Chen.

Furthermore, with Muzha making a move, Sha Chen will surely be injured, his Formation will be broken, and he will have plenty to suffer in the days to come.

After a hundred years of hardship, there’s finally a turning point! Li Changgeng was in an excellent mood, so he was unusually talkative with these gatekeepers enduring their tedious duties.

Mighty Miracle God and the others chimed in obsequiously, "With Sir Li personally taking action, success is guaranteed! Since it’s at the Flowing Sand River, Juanlian must be helping out."

Gudian Ha said, "Of course! Would Juanlian dare not help? He’s still undergoing punishment. If he helps, he might even get his sentence reduced."

General Heng added, "Sir Li must also be there to supervise Juanlian’s punishment. Did he beg for mercy?"

The mention of Juanlian pleased Li Changgeng immensely. Previously, Sha Chen had caused him to lose face, even barring him from entering the Formation. He had been furious. Now that Muzha had personally intervened and dealt with the matter, he would have good news to report to the Jade Emperor.

"Hehe, I am just about to report the good news to the Jade Emperor," he said.

However, just then, his expression flickered. He made a quick calculation with his fingers, and his face instantly turned grim.

Mighty Miracle God and the others, observing his change in expression, sensed that something was wrong. They asked tentatively, "Sir Li, could it be that Juanlian refused to help? He deserves his punishment! When we have some free time, we can teach him a lesson for you."

"Teach him a lesson?" Li Changgeng was seething with anger and snorted coldly. "You? Qualified?"

Then, with a flick of his sleeves, he entered the Ninth Heaven Southern Heaven Gate.

He had already divined the situation at the Flowing Sand River: it had ended with Muzha being sent flying in defeat. Sha Chen was unharmed and had even sent the scripture pilgrim across the river. Moreover, Sha Chen’s final shout had ensured that no one would dare to target the scripture pilgrim at the Flowing Sand River again to frame him.

Li Changgeng felt like his attempt to frame Sha Chen had backfired spectacularly, and the pressure on him mounted. Sha Chen actually managed to send Muzha flying?! When did he become so powerful?! Unbelievable!

Passing by the Bright Palace, Li Changgeng instinctively ducked his head and chose to take a detour. He simply couldn’t face the Jade Emperor now!
