Chapter 116: Chapter 33: Inheritance (1)

Van Helsing left.

Su Ziyu felt a bit lost, because no one would pull him into a game of Gwent Card anymore.

The Female Warlocks had been busy recently, and Su Ziyu didn’t know what they were up to. Lady Inid also left this morning with her people; she would return tomorrow.

Outside the City of Freedom.

Lina stood by the roadside in disguise, in front of her was Van Helsing holding a horse.

"Are you really decided?" Lady Inid expressed a hint of regret, "Actually staying here you could accomplish more things."

"Yes." Van Helsing’s expression remained unchanged.

Lady Inid couldn’t help but sigh, "Assassinating their Archbishop is extremely dangerous! You might never come back!"

"I know." Van Helsing’s face showed no change; he simply looked into the distance calmly, "But the blood feud of over sixty lives of Raven School still awaits my revenge. They slaughtered my brothers and burned my lover."

"I’ve waited for this day for a long time."

Lady Inid gazed into his eyes, said slowly, "You should know. Doing this will further intensify our hatred with them."

"Many people will get involved in the conflict."

Van Helsing took out a cigarette, lit it, and inhaled deeply, "I’m merely forcing them to make a choice."

"Some people still hold unrealistic fantasies about secular royal power, hoping that they would one day rebuild the Academy."

"I will never forget the day the Academy was surrounded and slaughtered by the army!"

"We are merely their henchmen; when they need us, they spare no effort to support the Academy. When they don’t, we are seen as thorns in their eyes."

"If this continues, Demon Hunters will eventually cease to exist."

Lady Inid was silent for a moment, then softly said, "What if they’re unwilling to come here?"

"Some people will be willing to come." Van Helsing turned his head to glance at Lady Inid beside him, with a mocking smile on his lips, "Do you think no one knows your plan? With so many elves gathering quietly, anyone smart would sense something."

"Right?"

"Princess Inid-An-Lina? The Wise One of the Elves!"

Upon hearing Van Helsing’s words, Lady Inid’s expression slightly changed.

Van Helsing turned to leave, his voice echoing from afar, "They will come!..."

"Otherwise, they would have already hidden their identities and disguised themselves as ordinary people like those cowardly beings."

"The Academy has been destroyed for decades."

"Those old guys still holding on care more about our heritage than you think."

Lady Inid watched as Van Helsing’s figure disappeared.

After a long time.

She turned and spoke to the people behind her, "Prepare to gather the clansmen."

"Let Lund’s people start spreading the word; we need more Warlocks to know about this place."

"They’ll come if they’re smart..."

Once Van Helsing acts to assassinate the Church’s Archbishop, it will inevitably attract a crazed backlash from the secular world and the Church. Then, both Demon Hunters and Warlocks will be extremely dangerous.

Lady Inid did not stop Van Helsing.

Because she also knew she needed that last straw to break the camel’s back, only when these Warlocks are cornered will they reunite, and she was to be that leader because only by leveraging the Warlocks’ Power could she achieve her ultimate goal.

The exiled elves had waited for this day for a long time.

Outside the Chamber of Commerce.

Su Ziyu wandered idly along the streets of the City of Freedom; his Clover Talisman shook occasionally on his chest. Passing a secluded sewer, he even saw a shadow flash underground, peculiar as it might be, it certainly wasn’t human.

Melissa trained even harder.

Judy, Nicole, and Mira often tried to drag Su Ziyu into doing something else, but he really had no mood to mess around with the Female Warlocks.

Lady Elena was researching Melissa’s blood, still trying to figure out the blood mutation happening in the girl’s body.

Alice and Daisy must have gone out with Lady Inid.

As for the other Female Warlocks, most of them were apprentices, and Su Ziyu had no interest in disturbing their Magic studies.

He was currently scouting in the City of Freedom.

This city contained numerous supernatural beings, and Su Ziyu was looking for some targets to gain Source Power Value.

As of now.

These openly active beings were not easy to deal with, instead, inside the sewers were some creatures residing in dark corners.

Bang.

Walking in the Old Town District of the City of Freedom, Su Ziyu suddenly stopped, frowning as he looked at three sneaky men in the distance.

They were carrying a sack.

He didn’t know what was inside the sack, but traces of blood were seeping through its surface.

These men were very cautious.

They advanced along the border of the Old Town District, then threw the sack into a dark sewer entrance. When they returned, Su Ziyu brushed past these men; he saw the tattoos on their bodies, a one-eyed giant wolf inked on their chests, with a small part exposed.

"Have you seen that guy just now?" The men had walked a short distance away and started whispering to each other, "Outsider?"

"Doesn’t matter who he is! As long as he doesn’t cause trouble." Another man whispered.

Traces of blood dispersed in the water.

Su Ziyu closed his eyes and listened. He could hear a faint noise coming from deep within the sewer, vaguely resembling the sound of eating.

What they just threw down might be a corpse.

Su Ziyu couldn’t confirm it, but he was certain there was something in the sewer, and it was acting as a Cleaner Fish, devouring things that people found inconvenient to deal with as food.

It seemed that the creatures inside the sewer wouldn’t come out.

For an unknown reason.

Su Ziyu frowned and retraced his steps, and at the door of the Chamber of Commerce, he saw Alice and the vampire banshee he’d met at the Queen of Night, looking quite pure.

"We meet again." The vampire banshee smiled, her expression rather amused.

It seemed Van Helsing was right, the vampires in this world weren’t really afraid of sunlight.

This vampire banshee was exposed under the sun’s rays, appearing no different from others, except her skin was a bit paler, lacking any color.

Su Ziyu raised an eyebrow upon hearing her, "What? Want another game of Gwent Card?"

As soon as he spoke.

The vampire banshee was immediately infuriated, biting her lower lip as she frowned, "Someday, I will win back!"

"Hmph."

"Sir Anirella has a task she wants to commission for you."

"Don’t you want to establish yourself here? Now an opportunity has appeared!"
