Chapter 179: Chapter 179: New Program
Tonight is the birthday party hosted by Director Yi Fei for his five-year-old son Yi Kai.
Even though people knew that Yi Fei’s intentions were elsewhere, many guests still brought their children along.
At the time, the adults would drink with the adults, and the kids would play with the kids.
When Gu Cheng arrived, he nearly attracted the attention of all the guests present.
Having won two international Best Director awards, he was like a mountain of gold.
Tuanzi was initially excited, holding her brother’s hand, but felt unhappy when she noticed all the gazes directed at them, furrowing her little eyebrows.
Children are very sensitive, and those who practice martial arts are sensitive too. Tuanzi sharply detected that everyone’s gaze on her brother was akin to dogs looking at braised pork.
Her brother was not braised pork; these people were so obnoxious!
Tuanzi angrily grabbed Gu Cheng, "Brother, hug me."
Gu Cheng quickly lifted his sister up.
The girl, with two bun hairstyles and ancient style hairpins, scanned the crowd.
Her little face was very round, her eyes were dark and bright, dressed in a traditional ancient style dress. The top was peach-colored, embroidered with some begonia fruits, and the skirt was plum-colored, subtly embroidered with cloud patterns using silver thread.
Others wearing ancient costumes occasionally showed a hint of disharmony, but this little girl in traditional attire seemed naturally fitting, as if she truly belonged to ancient times.
The little girl appeared soft and adorable, but when her sharp gaze swept across, people felt they were being stared at by a fierce beast.
Chilled to the bone.
A man shivered, "How strange."
She was just a little girl, yet why did he suddenly think of swords clashing, even envisioning a blood-dripping long sword?
Not really understanding what’s happening, everyone began to avoid meeting Tuanzi’s gaze.
The attention on Gu Cheng lessened considerably.
"Thank you."
Gu Cheng tidied up her collar with one hand.
Tuanzi, who had just been very stern-faced, instantly smiled.
"No need to thank me, we’re siblings after all."
Gu Cheng took his sister to meet the host of the party.
Yi Fei joked a few words, even laughed while saying, "I’ll have to trouble Director Gu for guidance in the future."
Gu Cheng didn’t respond and instead asked, "Where will the kids be playing later?"
Only then did Yi Fei look at the little girl nestled in Gu Cheng’s arms.
"Over there, I’ll have little Kai take her and she can have some food too."
Gu Cheng placed his sister down.
"Go with him and play, if anything happens, just come find me."
"Alright, alright, and brother won’t drink too much alcohol either."
Tuanzi smiled widely, patting her chest, "If someone tries to make you drink, find Miaomiao; Miaomiao will present them with logic."
Several onlookers laughed, not taking her seriously.
Little did they know, Tuanzi had already planned that she would simultaneously eat and secretly observe; whoever tried to make her brother drink would be embarrassed by her.
Yi Kai was only five years old, yet he wore a white little suit and was very polite, "What do you want to eat?"
"Desserts!"
Yi Kai led her over to pick up some desserts, and on the way, when he saw people he knew, he would politely greet them, earning praise like "You’re so well-behaved" and "As expected of Director Yi’s son."
Tuanzi sneakily peeked at him, feeling that this little boy wasn’t very happy.
But remembering how Yi Fei hadn’t really looked at her earlier, she understood the little boy. Having a father who was heavily ambitious and loved face was quite tough.
"Don’t be unhappy; eating something sweet will make you happy."
With a bold gesture, Tuanzi patted his shoulder.
Yi Kai looked at her in surprise and grabbed two cupcake muffins.
The two children devoured the cupcakes.
"This tastes amazing!"
Tuanzi’s eyes lit up, quickly finishing one and moving on to others.
There weren’t many people in the self-service area, mostly just kids.
The majority attended this party for networking rather than eating or drinking.
Which was great for Tuanzi; no one competed with her, allowing her to eat as much as she wanted.
Yi Kai initially restrained himself since his dad had told him before leaving that he should behave exceptionally so everyone would like him.
But the cupcakes were really tasty, and his newfound sister was eating joyfully as well, so he kept eating nonstop.
The system helplessly watched the scene, knowing that no one could escape the host’s eating spree.
Tuanzi kept an eye on her brother’s situation while eating.
Unexpectedly, someone was watching her.
The intense gaze targeted her, yet even her puffed-up angry face didn’t make them look away.

Tuanzi swiftly turned her head and locked eyes with the bold observer.
"Huh?"
The one watching her was a man in his thirties, well-dressed in a suit, looking proper yet with a tired expression. Even caught, he still stared directly at her.
Tuanzi slowly narrowed her eyes.
She grabbed a cup of juice, storming off.
[Ancient Martial System: If you find something amiss, will you throw juice at him?]
The slightly downturned corners of her eyes suddenly lifted.
[Miaomiao: Nope, Miaomiao will scold him first, and drink if thirsty afterward!]
[Ancient Martial System: ...]
"Why are you staring at Miaomiao?"
Tuanzi thought she took big strides over, slightly raising her little head, "Are you a fan of Miaomiao?"
The man snapped out of it, scratching his hair, "Uh, yeah, I’m your fan."
"Liar," Tuanzi looked at him disdainfully, "Your stare at Miaomiao is like looking at gold."
The man froze.
He quietly muttered "uh" under his breath.
At that moment, Yi Kai followed, somewhat warily staring at the man.
"Does he have a problem?"
Tuanzi shook her head, "I don’t know, Miaomiao is still interrogating."
The word "interrogating" made the man laugh.
He pointed to a nearby sofa, "Shall we talk over there?"
Tuanzi held her juice and calmly walked over.
She was not afraid of this man having ill intentions.
Yi Kai hesitated before tagging along.
Who knows what the man was thinking; he treated Gu Miaomiao as if she were an adult, his demeanor very solemn.
"I was staring because I want to invite you."
The little head tilted.
The man scratched his head, "Seeing you as gold wasn’t entirely wrong. I think maybe you can save my show."
Tuanzi patted her ears, signaling that she was all ears.
The man grew more serious and introduced himself.
"My name is Miao Mu, I’m a director at Strawberry Channel, and recently I’ve been planning a parenting reality show."
Tuanzi’s eyes gleamed; was this a pillow for her drowsiness?
Miao Mu lamented, "But I haven’t invited a single guest."
Tuanzi: "Ah... you’re quite pitiful."
The reason for no invited guests was because the plan wasn’t valued by the channel and no investments were secured. Even Miao Mu used to only assist other directors without significant roles in production teams.
Simply put, he was a director without any renowned works, a plan not favored by higher-ups, unable to attract investments, and lacking connections.
