Sister Na entered the supermarket with Han Han in her arms, her vigilance heightened by the depleted supplies.
"Mommy, third floor."
Han Han's soft voice piped up. He held a stuffed toy in one hand and clung to Sister Na's neck with the other, his tone adorable and milky.
Sister Na heard him and looked up towards the escalator leading to the upper floors.
She knew that even if she didn't go up, people from upstairs would come down.
She and her baby needed food and rest; she had to go up.
As Sister Na carried Han Han up from downstairs, Wang Qiang and his group had been waiting for a long time.
When Wang Qiang saw Sister Na appear with Han Han, a flash of greed flickered in his eyes.
Having given birth, Sister Na's figure had become even more alluring.
Dressed in a simple combination of leather jacket and jeans, her figure still exuded a fiery visual appeal.
"Welcome," Wang Qiang said, a cigarette dangling from his lips, clapping his hands to welcome Sister Na and her son.
Wang Qiang's aura was thick and oppressive, making Sister Na uncomfortable. She could sense it.
However, the other party was numerous, and she was a widow with a child. She couldn't confront them directly, so she had to endure.
Sister Na looked at Wang Qiang, a smile revealing crow's feet at the corners of her eyes. "There's a heavy rain outside, and my car is out of gas. I saw the supermarket here and wanted to find a place to rest and recover. We'll leave when the rain stops."
Sister Na's words were neither humble nor arrogant, neither fawning nor overly forceful.
Although these supplies did not exclusively belong to Wang Qiang and his group,
they had occupied them. If she wanted them, she had to adopt a softer approach.
Sister Na had witnessed much of human depravity on her journey and knew it was best not to provoke people like Wang Qiang.
Wang Qiang, lusting after Sister Na's face and body, readily agreed to her request, "Do as you please. The first, second, and third floors are all my territory. Stay wherever you wish."
Sister Na did not want to stay on the same floor as Wang Qiang's group; it was too dangerous. "I'll stay on the first floor."
She had initially thought of staying in the supermarket, but given the situation, Sister Na felt her car was the safest place.
Staying on the first floor was merely a delaying tactic.
After speaking, Sister Na, holding Han Han, was about to go downstairs. Wang Qiang gave a look, and Liu Yang immediately rushed forward to block their path.
With their way blocked, Sister Na tightened her grip on the wolf-tooth club she held.
"Since you're here, you don't need to leave," Wang Qiang said as he walked over, standing in front of Sister Na and her son. He grinned lecherously at them, "I told you, this is my territory. If you want to stay, you can only stay on the third floor, under my watchful eye."
Wang Qiang didn't say the rest, but whether he said it or not no longer mattered.
Because Sister Na and her son would not be leaving.
Wang Qiang swept a glance, and Liu Yang, quick to react, snatched the wolf-tooth club from Sister Na's hand.
Her defensive tool gone, and surrounded, Sister Na didn't act rashly. She hugged Han Han tighter, "We'll stay."
Having said this, Sister Na turned, holding Han Han, and walked towards the survivors huddled in a corner, unnoticed and pitiable.
Upon reaching them, Sister Na sat down on the floor with Han Han in her arms.
On the surface, Sister Na seemed to have succumbed to Wang Qiang's lecherous tyranny, but inwardly, she was already contemplating an escape plan.
As for Wang Qiang, after Sister Na and her son appeared, his attention shifted from Jiao Jiao and Jiang Zhimin.
He took two cans of beer, walked to Sister Na, opened one, and offered it to her. "Have a drink with me."
Sister Na looked at the offered beer. Impatience could ruin great plans. She reached out and took it, patting Han Han and gesturing for him to sit still.
Wang Qiang watched Sister Na's every move, a contemptuous smile on his face. He gave Liu Yang a look.
Liu Yang understood and strode over, directly attempting to snatch Han Han from Sister Na.
Sister Na's life was Han Han. She could endure anything, but when it came to Han Han, she could not tolerate it.
As Liu Yang grabbed Han Han's arm and tried to pull him forcefully, Sister Na immediately smashed the canned beer in her hand onto Liu Yang's head, then brought him down with a stylish scissor kick.
She scooped up Han Han and quickly stood up, not forgetting to grab the wolf-tooth club that had fallen to the ground for defense, facing Wang Qiang and his group alone.
