Wuquenan's overbearing tone boomed, instantly riling a general from the Fire Spirit Tribe. "Level seventy, and you say we're bullying you?" he scoffed, stepping forward to face Wuquenan.
This was a player named Huo Tian, level seventy-three. He looked at Wuquenan dismissively. "A mere level fifty player, provoking us level seventy players without even enabling the correction system. You're asking for death, and I'll oblige!"
Wuquenan remained silent. His left hand slowly clenched, and a long spear materialized in his grasp. He then opened Huo Tian's player interface, and Huo Tian did the same.
Huo Tian froze as he examined Wuquenan's interface. The profession was unlisted. The opponent was using a hidden profession. Indeed, Wuquenan's hidden profession had changed from Dual Gunslinger to Spear-Sword Gladiator.
This was a reward for Wuquenan completing his quest. The spear in his hand was also unique: a cyan shaft with a silver tip, nine feet long, radiating sharpness. Waves of cyan patterns swirled around the shaft, while a drill-like component encased the tip, enclosing a silver point within. At the spear's butt, a transparent, pure white crystal was embedded.
Wuquenan then flourished his spear. Seeing this, Huo Tian dared not be complacent. Hidden professions often possessed special abilities, and he had no idea what Wuquenan's was, so he couldn't afford to underestimate him.
He then clasped his hands, and twin swords instantly appeared, formed from fire elementals, seemingly solid.
Chen Tian watched, astonished. "Mastery of the Monarch level. Wuquenan will have a tough fight on his hands!"
He then turned his gaze to the arena. Wuquenan and Huo Tian faced each other. Wuquenan made the first move. After his hidden profession change, his attributes had transformed; he had undergone an evolution.
His spear danced, lunging straight at Huo Tian. Countless silver spearhead afterimages flooded Huo Tian's vision. Huo Tian reacted swiftly, his twin swords swinging, unleashing torrents of fiery sword energy that collided with the myriad spear shadows.
Seizing an opening, Wuquenan lunged upwards, aiming for Huo Tian's chin. But Huo Tian's reflexes were sharp. He instantly brought his left sword up to block his chin. The impact of the spearhead against the sword sent both fighters recoiling.
Wuquenan looked at Huo Tian. "Not bad. If you weren't level seventy, no one at this level could have taken that move from me!"
"Damn it, this guy's strength is too monstrous. A level fifty player with burst power comparable to a level seventy! Is this a hidden profession? It's terrifying!"
Huo Tian stared at Wuquenan in shock. Wuquenan's confidence swelled again. He took a step, his body weaving left and right, disappearing and reappearing in rapid succession before Huo Tian.
Seeing Wuquenan's evasive maneuvers, Huo Tian's twin swords flared, unleashing ferocious flames. He swung them in a spin, creating two small fiery tornadoes that shot forward.
Player battles had fewer restrictions, relying on skills or combat techniques. Huo Tian opted for a skill-based confrontation.
The fire tornadoes raged, scorching the air with intense flames.
Skill: Fire Tornado Burst!
Wuquenan was momentarily stunned. His opponent was going straight for skill-based combat. This was problematic!
His hidden profession granted Wuquenan immense burst power and other abilities, but it lacked fixed skills. This meant he had no profession skills. Wuquenan could only use his learned skills, and though their effects changed with his weapon, he hadn't had a chance to test them yet.
Every profession had its strengths and weaknesses, and hidden professions were no exception. Seemingly powerful, they often had greater and more numerous drawbacks.
Wuquenan stopped, facing the oncoming tornadoes. He slowly raised his spear. A cyan glow emanated from its shaft. With a spin, the spear formed a massive circular shield in his hand. The cyan shield grew, appearing before Wuquenan. The two fire tornadoes struck the shield and dissipated without effect.
It was as if they had been cut apart. Chen Tian's divine eyes clearly saw sword energy entwined around Wuquenan's spear. But how could a spear weapon generate sword energy? It should have been a spear blade, if anything.
This defied the weapon's design, unless this profession was a fusion of two weapon types!
This was Chen Tian's only conclusion. He continued to watch the battle, intrigued by Wuquenan's hidden profession.
He felt this hidden profession was rather interesting!
Wuquenan moved behind the shield. Strangely, his hands had left the spear's shaft, yet it continued to spin, and with its rotation, the shield expanded into a colossal luminous wheel.
A terrifying power and a savage aura emanated from it. This was no longer a shield; it was an attack.
Wuquenan then clapped his hands together, raising them above his head before bringing them down. The colossal cyan spear wheel began to move, hurtling towards Huo Tian.
Huo Tian, though astonished, reacted swiftly. A terrifying flame enveloped his body, transforming into countless fiery lines that converged behind him, forming the shape of a fiery rhinoceros. The rhinoceros's body solidified, becoming increasingly real.
Huo Tian then slammed his palms forward repeatedly. The fiery rhinoceros charged directly at the giant spear wheel.
Giant Spear Wheel, Luminous Wheel Cutting, Split in Two!
Fiery Rhinoceros, Steel Red Body, Like a City Wall!
Skill: Spear Control Light Wheel
Skill: Fire Rhino Defense
Both were using learned moves. Wuquenan had created only three such moves, and this was one of them, with two forms: shield and wheel.
Under a different mode, this skill would also change. The setting of "Chrono Era" was excellent; self-created skills adapted based on the player's weapon.
Therefore, when players obtained new professions, they only needed to test how their self-created skills would manifest.
Wuquenan, having just acquired his hidden profession, hadn't tested it. This was his first time, but he was satisfied.
The colossal cyan spear wheel spun, charging the fiery rhinoceros. Instantly, the rhinoceros was cleaved in two, rushing towards Huo Tian. But Huo Tian made no move, as if he had anticipated this.
The bisected fiery rhinoceros transformed into solid matter, and fiery red armor enveloped Huo Tian, wrapping around him. It then fused onto his body.
Covered head-to-toe in armor, Huo Tian stood his ground. A sizzling sound echoed as the spear wheel struck the hardened armor like steel, sparks flying.
Huo Tian's body then shuddered, and the spear wheel was flung away. The cyan spear shot towards the sky. Wuquenan leaped up and caught it.
This weapon was specifically for his profession; he couldn't lose it. This profession's weapon was restricted to this single spear; other weapons did not meet the profession's requirements.
This was also a drawback of the profession.
Wuquenan looked at Huo Tian, clad in the red rhinoceros armor, with long horns on his helmet. Huo Tian's eyes fixed on Wuquenan, and his voice boomed, "You are very good. Unfortunately, my ability is Elemental Manifestation. I can turn any elemental shape into a solid form. The strength of this armor is beyond your ability to break."
Chen Tian, watching from below the arena, commented, "Indeed. Wuquenan's spear lacks armor penetration. This armor's defense is a staggering 600. He cannot break through it."
Elemental Manifestation. Players could achieve this too? Chen Tian had thought only he had comprehended it. It seemed the abilities and skills in "Chrono Era" were not fixed for players.
Any player could learn the same abilities or even skills; it depended on their imagination.
Wuquenan examined Huo Tian's attributes. The defense stat was indeed too high for him to penetrate and deal damage. But Wuquenan said calmly, "My spear may lack armor penetration, but who told you I couldn't defeat you?"
"Let me show you what the Spear-Sword Gladiator profession is all about! Ha!"
Wuquenan declared with arrogance. He then brought his hands together in front of him, slowly gripping the center of the spear shaft.
