Chapter 179: Battle of the Demon Plains (Part 2)

Chen Tian found the hammer in the opponent's hand to be troublesome, given its plethora of enchantments.

A single strength specialization was enough to make him difficult to handle. However, Chen Tian did not yield. Regardless of how powerful the opponent's weapon was, Chen Tian showed no fear.

Chen Tian gripped his spear, his footwork carrying him forward. Mo Yuan, seeing this, also stepped forward, and the two collided. Due to its lightness, Mo Yuan's war hammer did not feel heavy, making it incredibly agile, like a light sword.

Chen Tian's spear danced, thrusting towards Mo Yuan. Mo Yuan crossed his war hammer, deflecting the attack. Chen Tian then flicked his spear upwards, but Mo Yuan's war hammer immediately latched onto Chen Tian's spear tip. With a twist, he threw Chen Tian away. Mo Yuan's assault did not stop; he appeared behind Chen Tian and brought his war hammer down. Chen Tian brought his spear behind him, and the spear shaft collided with the war hammer.

With a thunderous roar, Chen Tian was sent flying back. In that last strike, Mo Yuan had triggered a four-times strength enchantment. Had Chen Tian's spear not possessed the ability to negate some of that force, he would have been seriously injured. Chen Tian remained composed, observing Mo Yuan.

Mo Yuan spoke, "Is that all you've got?"

"Hmph!"

Chen Tian let out a soft breath. Countless images flashed through his mind, yet he found no solution. The opponent's war hammer enhancements were too formidable; he needed a meticulous plan to counter them.

At the same time, Mo Yuan charged at Chen Tian. Seeing this, Chen Tian instantly pulled his spear back and slashed, releasing a spearhead. Mo Yuan threw his left-hand war hammer, which spun towards Chen Tian.

Chen Tian's spearhead was instantly shattered by the war hammer. The war hammer then flew towards Chen Tian's face. Chen Tian activated his evasion skill, narrowly dodging all damage. However, the war hammer surprisingly executed a boomerang move and attacked Chen Tian from behind.

Chen Tian was stunned. Could this guy control his war hammer? He spun his spear in his hand, conjuring a shield with phantom dragon and phoenix imagery. The shield, intertwined with these spectral figures, withstood the war hammer's force, but its armor-piercing effect dealt significant damage to Chen Tian's health.

Seeing this, Chen Tian swung his arms, flinging the war hammer away. Mo Yuan then appeared before Chen Tian and swung his right-hand war hammer towards Chen Tian's head. Chen Tian remained unfazed. His eyes widened, and a barrier appeared before him. Eight such barriers shattered, and Chen Tian activated his teleportation skill, instantly appearing elsewhere.

Chen Tian then slashed with both hands, turning the shattered shield fragments into crystalline shards that flew towards Mo Yuan. Mo Yuan, seeing this, clenched his left hand, and the spinning war hammer returned to his grasp.

He then wielded both war hammers, creating a black barrier shield around himself. The countless crystalline shards had no effect on the barrier. Chen Tian reappeared behind Mo Yuan and thrust his spear forward. The drill-like spear spun, emanating a nine-colored radiance. Mo Yuan, seeing this, threw his war hammers and retreated.

An explosion erupted as the two war hammers spun in the sky and returned to Mo Yuan's hands. Chen Tian emerged from the blast.

Chen Tian looked at Mo Yuan, acknowledging his decisiveness. If the opponent had hesitated for a moment, his carefully laid trap might have severely wounded Mo Yuan. But the opponent was swift.

Instead of enduring the attack, he threw his weapons, nullifying Chen Tian's plan. It was a testament to Mo Yuan's exceptional combat awareness.

Chen Tian's schemes sometimes fell short.

Chen Tian gripped his spear, pulling it left and right. The drill at the tip of the spear gradually enlarged. Chains appeared along the shaft, as if the spear itself was composed of chains. A meteor hammer-shaped spearhead now appeared in Chen Tian's hand.

Chen Tian had opted for his weapon's second form. In his first form, he was no match for Mo Yuan, a fact he couldn't deny due to the opponent's troublesome specializations. He decided to switch to ranged combat. The second form, a meteor hammer, was effective at medium and long distances.

Chen Tian held the spear shaft in his left hand and the chain in his right, swinging the meteor hammer. The drill-shaped meteor hammer spun, and Chen Tian threw it, sending it flying straight towards Mo Yuan.

Mo Yuan was momentarily stunned. The opponent had changed his attack pattern; this was interesting. He gripped his war hammers tightly and charged towards Chen Tian.

The drill meteor hammer flew straight at Mo Yuan. Mo Yuan swung his war hammers, and the two weapons collided, sending the drill meteor hammer flying back.

In this collision, the opponent had triggered an eight-times strength enhancement, but because it struck the weapon and not the person directly, the damage could not be fully transferred.

Chen Tian watched the drill meteor hammer rebound. He pulled with his left hand and spun with his right, causing the meteor hammer to drift sideways towards Mo Yuan.

Mo Yuan was again stunned, then realized what was happening.

It seemed the opponent did not want to engage in close-quarters combat.

He then threw his war hammers, making sweeping motions with both hands. The war hammers began to move on their own, striking the meteor hammer in accordance with Mo Yuan's gestures. Chen Tian was surprised. Did the opponent possess telekinetic abilities?

He then swung the meteor hammer with all his might, the chain lengthening, and the meteor hammer's range expanding. Chen Tian spun the drill meteor hammer around him and then threw it towards Mo Yuan.

Mo Yuan watched as the nine-colored drill meteor hammer, enveloped in nine-colored radiance, grew larger. Phantoms appeared in the void. He then gripped his war hammers tightly. Black phantoms continuously emerged from the war hammers. He slammed the two war hammers together, conjuring a colossal war hammer phantom behind him. As the phantom war hammer descended, it collided with the drill phantom.

A terrifying wave of energy swept outwards. Chen Tian's lips curved upwards. He flicked his left hand, and the drill meteor hammer, like a viper, struck Mo Yuan's back at an awkward angle, its drill spinning ferociously.

Mo Yuan was astonished. Had the opponent calculated even his defensive measures? What a terrifying human!

His entire outer shell emitted a black luster, instantly repelling the drill meteor hammer. Chen Tian shook the hammer handle, and the meteor hammer transformed again.

Mo Yuan's expression turned serious. He stepped forward, instantly appearing before the meteor hammer and gripping its chain.

Chen Tian sensed danger and yanked. The meteor hammer's chain snapped, leaving the spear shaft in his hand. The spearhead floated in the void, then returned to the shaft with a point of the handle.

Chen Tian and Mo Yuan met each other's gaze. Mo Yuan praised, "Kid, I admit you have some skill, but I'm going to get serious now."

Chen Tian looked at Mo Yuan and sneered, "I told you to go all out earlier, but you wouldn't believe me. Do you think I have no way to counter your mere war hammers?"

"Kid, you can laugh now. What comes next will be your nightmare!"

Instantly, Mo Yuan gripped his weapons. Chen Tian observed Mo Yuan's weapon; it resembled a Qiankun Dao but also had a spear-like design.

At both ends were spearheads, which slowly unfurled into long blades. The central area was a crescent-shaped handle. Its black appearance, eerie aura, and sharp blade energy, with a drill at the end of the blade unfurling like a flower, were all striking. Mo Yuan held the weapon in one hand.

Then Mo Yuan spoke, "It is your honor to die by the Death Reaper's Twin Extinction Blades."

Chen Tian's Divine Eyes opened instantly, and information appeared before him. Good heavens, this weapon had as many as three or four forms, just like his own.

Furthermore, its ability enhancements and specializations were even more terrifying. This was truly heaven-defying, truly his life-bound weapon.

Chen Tian became cautious. Mo Yuan's figure vanished without a trace. Chen Tian expanded his spiritual sense to scan the surroundings.

The opponent's aura had completely disappeared, impossible to detect. This was a weapon characteristic: Voidification!

It allowed his aura to merge with the surrounding void, becoming ethereal, insubstantial, and unreal, making Chen Tian unable to detect him with his eyes.

Suddenly, a flash of lightning struck Chen Tian's mind. He then swung his spear horizontally. A crackling sound came from his right. Chen Tian looked at Mo Yuan, who was surprised, "As expected of the fated one of the Dragon and Phoenix tribes, your intuition is so powerful. It seems a surprise attack is unnecessary."

Chen Tian looked at Mo Yuan and said, "If you want to fight, then fight head-on. What's wrong with that? Resorting to surprise attacks, how despicable!"

Mo Yuan remained silent. He then held the blade in one hand and made a slash, forcing Chen Tian to retreat.

Weapon Ability: Repel!

Chen Tian stabilized himself and then looked at Mo Yuan. Mo Yuan, holding the blade in one hand, caused the long blades on both sides to shrink. The drill-like parts then converged at the crescent-shaped handle, fusing and unfurling, releasing a black beam of lotus-like energy.

Weapon Second Form: Death Piercing Bow!

Chen Tian looked at the opponent's black lotus beam. He instantly thrust his spear, opening light wings on both sides of the spearhead. With a pull, it resembled a bow and arrow, and the spear was launched.

The nine-colored spear collided with the beam, creating an explosion. They stared at each other, evenly matched.

The attack Chen Tian had just used was his third form: Dragon Phoenix Inscribed Bow!

Chen Tian looked at Mo Yuan. Their eyes met. The true battle had just begun.
