Chapter 693 The Heavenly Dao Slumbers

Chen Tian didn't know where to go. The Dark Realm was so vast, how could he possibly find his target? However, Chen Tian found himself emerging from a plain. The plain was covered in black grass, and to Chen Tian's perception, the plain seemed to have no discernible boundaries. It was so immense that it exceeded his sensory range. Helpless, Chen Tian could only proceed forward across the plain. He didn't know much about the Dark Realm; he was unsure of his current location. Chen Tian needed to reach a city to gather information.

Since the system had issued this quest, it indicated that a monumental change was about to occur in the Dark Realm. Chen Tian couldn't believe that no one else knew about this. His immediate goal was to leave the plain. As Chen Tian walked, he discovered that flying seemed to be prohibited on this plain, and he couldn't even activate a teleportation portal. This was a peculiar place. As Chen Tian walked, the plain somehow gave him a sense of peace, which was odd given its black, desolate nature.

Chen Tian didn't let his guard down. The more peaceful a place seemed, the greater the danger. Chen Tian was highly sensitive to danger. After walking an unknown distance across the plain, the ground suddenly trembled, causing Chen Tian to sway. It was as if something colossal was approaching him. Chen Tian stood still, quietly observing the approaching figure. It was a massive, black-and-red creature resembling a scorpion, with huge pincers, four legs, and symmetrically curved fangs. Its entire body was encased in a black-and-red shell.

The shell was covered in intricate patterns. Chen Tian's eyes met those of the creature before him. The scorpion roared and immediately attacked Chen Tian, its eyes glowing scarlet. Chen Tian didn't hesitate to counter, his palms extending to collide with the creature's pincers. The impact sent waves of energy rolling, shaking the plain and causing the ground for a hundred miles around to crack and collapse. Chen Tian gritted his teeth, enduring the immense force.

"This guy's strength is immense."

Chen Tian spoke calmly. He was using all his might, yet in this clash of strength, he was at a disadvantage. The creature's power was no small matter. But why had it attacked him on sight, and in such a rage?

Chen Tian pondered this. The scorpion, seeing Chen Tian resist its pincers, showed a flicker of surprise. Few humans could withstand its pincers, and this person was undoubtedly of that caliber. This realization made the scorpion increase its strength.

Chen Tian found himself gradually being suppressed. He knew he couldn't win a direct confrontation. His body split into three or four clones that scattered in different directions. The pincers struck the ground, and countless earth spikes erupted from beneath Chen Tian's clones, piercing their bodies. The earth spikes covered the surroundings, continuously emerging from the ground. This demonstrated control over earth elements, allowing Chen Tian to understand the creature's abilities. However, Chen Tian's Divine Eyes couldn't display any information about this being.

The creature's origin surpassed the level limit of Chen Tian's Divine Eyes. Unless his Divine Eyes upgraded to level two, he wouldn't be able to ascertain its information. Chen Tian dodged the earth spikes, which continued to erupt relentlessly. Chen Tian's combat experience was extensive, allowing him to skillfully evade the attacks. The scorpion slowly raised its pincers, its gaze fixed intently on Chen Tian's eyes. The thought of a certain incident infuriated it, and it resolved to tear the human before it to shreds.

Just as the pincers were about to strike, a vortex appeared in the sky, blackness gradually condensing within it. Sensing the power and aura emanating from the vortex, both Chen Tian and the scorpion paused their actions, looking at the vortex with grave expressions. A figure emerged from the vortex, a young boy. This was the Heavenly Dao of the Dark Realm.

"Enough, Yuan Scorpion. I summoned you here for assistance, not to cause trouble."

The Heavenly Dao spoke coldly. The ongoing battle had attracted its attention. Yuan Scorpion replied with indifference, "Is this how you ask for help? I've just arrived, and a group of humans stole an egg from me. How can I help you unless you help me get it back?"

"Ugh!!"

The Heavenly Dao's face darkened. How could such a thing have happened? It had sought help, only for the other party to have their egg stolen by thieves upon arrival.

"I will find a way. We need to go to where that place is quickly; it's about to break free. The Three Emperors and Four Kings have already headed there."

The Heavenly Dao's demeanor was indifferent, its ruthlessness a constant across all worlds.

Anything that posed a threat to the world would be dealt with by the Heavenly Dao with unsparing judgment. As the world's guardian, the Heavenly Dao prioritized its safety above all else.

After speaking, the Heavenly Dao looked at Chen Tian: 'Chen Tian, there's no need to hide. Only the Three Emperors and Four Kings can contend with Yuan Scorpion. You are not among them, which means it must be you. I can't think of anyone else.'

"Heh!"

Chen Tian chuckled helplessly. It seemed his strength was fully known to the Heavenly Dao. A full-power display would be completely transparent to it. Since he had been seen through, Chen Tian saw no need to conceal himself. He reverted to his original appearance and asked gravely, "Heavenly Dao, what has happened?"

"To put it briefly, I don't have time to expel you now. I need your help. Yuan Scorpion's egg needs to be found. Yuan Scorpion is a key figure in opposing that place. This is a commission for you. If you complete it, you can stay in the Dark Realm for as long as you wish."

The Heavenly Dao appeared very serious, and Chen Tian found it difficult to refuse. The situation seemed to be escalating, and Chen Tian had no reason to decline. He nodded directly and said, "Alright, I'll help you with this commission."

The Heavenly Dao turned to Yuan Scorpion and said, "I've already arranged for him to help you find your lost egg. You can now proceed to that place with peace of mind. I need to go into slumber to suppress that entity. I will awaken after you have completely subdued it."

"Chen Tian, be careful. The human who took Yuan Scorpion's egg is not simple. You should recognize this aura."

The Heavenly Dao conjured a phantom black aura from its hand, a simulation. Chen Tian felt the aura and his eyes hardened as he said, 'Don't worry, not one of them will escape.'

The simulated aura was indeed the aura of an evil spirit. Chen Tian's relationship with the Evil Spirit race was truly remarkable; he encountered them everywhere.

The Heavenly Dao stepped back into the vortex and fell into slumber. Yuan Scorpion looked at Chen Tian, approached him, and bowed his head, saying, "I apologize. I initially thought you were with them. My egg was taken north, in the direction behind you. If you keep walking in that direction, you should be able to see it."

"Also, this is a scale from my body. It will glow when I'm near the egg. My child, I entrust him to you."

Yuan Scorpion shed a black scale from his pincer. Chen Tian took it and watched Yuan Scorpion leave, wondering, 'What exactly has happened to make you so solemn?'

"It's not beneficial for you to know yet. You are still too weak. When you reach my level, you will understand."

Yuan Scorpion said this and left in a hurry. The ground trembled, and Chen Tian had a premonition that the task assigned to him in the Dark Realm might be related to the place the Heavenly Dao and others mentioned. Chen Tian suddenly recalled, "You still haven't told me how to leave here. How do I get out?"

As Chen Tian spoke, Yuan Scorpion's voice echoed from a thousand miles away, heading south. There was a city's teleportation array in that direction. This plain was boundless; it had no edges, and only fixed teleportation arrays could lead out.

Chen Tian finally knew how to exit the plain. He headed south. After walking an unknown distance in that direction, Chen Tian began to doubt if a teleportation gate even existed. After nearly three days of walking, he understood why it was called the Boundless Plain; it truly seemed to have no end. The distance Chen Tian had covered in two days was comparable to the entire expanse of a complete Divine Realm world.

A pillar of light rose, and Chen Tian sensed a fluctuation. It seemed to be ahead. This situation indicated someone was using a teleportation array. The scale suddenly flickered, and Chen Tian quickened his pace. His target was ahead. By the time Chen Tian reached the teleportation gate, only footprints remained on the ground, and the gate was closed. The other party had already teleported away.

Chen Tian entered the teleportation gate, finally able to leave this damned plain. He didn't want to stay there for another moment.

Chen Tian stepped into the teleportation gate, and the entire gate lit up with a pillar of light that shot straight into the sky.

No one knew that this Boundless Plain was actually a world beneath the surface. This pillar of light connected directly to a city on the surface.

In a city, Chen Tian's figure emerged from the city's teleportation array. The surrounding guards looked at each other, their vigilance immediately raised. One of them shouted, "Boy, who are you? This place has been forbidden for use. How did you appear here?"

"Speak!"

Before Chen Tian could react, he was surrounded by a large group of guards. Chen Tian's expression turned grim. What was going on? He was being misunderstood as soon as he arrived.

Chen Tian had no choice but to explain. Upon hearing that he had come from the Boundless Plain, all the guards lowered their weapons. The teleportation gate in the Boundless Plain was random; no one knew which city's teleportation point it would lead to.

"Guards, has something happened? You all seem very serious."

Chen Tian asked curiously. The guards' attitude towards Chen Tian was indifferent. "Unauthorized personnel, leave immediately."
