In the early morning, one adult and two children left Notting Academy in a hired carriage, heading towards the Hunting Soul Forest located to the northeast of Notting City.
This was Tang San and Tang Sui's first time riding in a carriage.
The bumpy carriage was full of novelty for Tang San, but Tang Sui's experience was far from pleasant.
The intermittent jolting and swaying reminded Tang Sui of motion sickness from her previous life. If not for the cool wind blowing in from the drawn carriage curtain, the pale-faced Tang Sui would have already succumbed to the churning in her stomach.
'Why does the motion sickness persist even in a new body? But do spirits get motion sickness too?'
The system's constant prompts of "Spirit Force -1" echoed in her ears. Tang Sui clung to the carriage window frame. Her already pale face, now tinged with a sickly pallor due to her poor mental state, looked utterly pathetic.
[Because you're a mixed-blood fragile thing, dear.] The system cheerfully entered its mocking mode. [Spirit Force is a matter of the soul, but health points are tied to physical strength. Even your brother currently has 300 health points. With yours only at 90, it's no wonder you're affected by this motion sickness!]
Tang Sui: "..."
She stared desperately out the window. Due to the discomfort in her stomach, a layer of crystal clear moisture misted her dark eyes, making them appear wet, as if she might cry at any moment.
"Sui Sui, are you alright?" Tang San worriedly stroked Tang Sui's thin, boney back, secretly channeling internal energy to alleviate her discomfort.
Tang Sui shook her head, her pale face stubbornly resolute, "I can do it, brother."
It's just a rocking car, isn't it? Better than dangerous bumper cars.
Grandmaster, seeing Tang Sui's discomfort, sighed. He took out Tang Sui's medium-sized water flask from his packed bag, removed the stopper, poured a little water into his palm, and then, to their bewildered eyes, awkwardly dabbed some water onto the back of Tang Sui's neck. "This might make you feel a bit better."
A coolness spread from the back of her neck, and Tang Sui's dizziness eased slightly. She cast a grateful look at Grandmaster. "Thank you, Teacher."
Grandmaster nodded, then took a soul tool from his waist and handed it to Tang San. "Xiao San, this is for you."
Tang San looked at the black belt with twenty-four evenly embedded milky white stones in Grandmaster's hand.
"Thank you, Teacher." Tang San accepted it without hesitation.
Then Grandmaster pulled out another translucent purple crystal jade bracelet and offered it to Tang Sui. "Sui Sui, you're a girl, so this is probably the most fitting gift for you."
As he said "most fitting," a hint of deep bitterness flashed through Grandmaster's eyes.
Tang Sui, whose attention was fully captured by the bracelet Grandmaster was holding out, reached out. The purple crystal bracelet, which appeared to be sized for an adult's wrist, automatically adjusted to fit Tang Sui's wrist upon contact, fitting perfectly.
Both siblings understood the principle of not refusing a gift from an elder.
Grandmaster watched the siblings put on their respective soul tools and sighed. "These two soul tools have been with me for many years, and have been neglected for just as long... I hope in the future, they will shine with the brilliance they deserve in your hands."
"Thirty years ago, when I obtained this, I didn't know its name. But based on my years of research, it can be considered a top-tier soul tool for storage. As long as you inject your own soul power into it, each jade stone can provide one cubic meter of storage space, convenient for storing such items."
"As for the one on Sui Sui's hand, its storage space isn't as large, only about 10 cubic meters of storage space." As he spoke, a hint of apology, and more bitterness, touched Grandmaster's brow.
Tang Sui shook her head, touching the smooth-feeling bracelet, and offered Grandmaster a smile. "It's alright, Teacher. I really like this gift."
Even though he couldn't provide her with everything like other teachers with cheats, she was grateful that he cared about them, and that he had given them the best he had, the best he could offer, along with her brother.
Therefore, she felt no resentment or imbalance, only deep gratitude.
