Chapter 550: Cute and Lovely
Lin Murong’s cookies were cute, headless—literally headless. These little gingerbread men were all missing heads.
Chi Yan fed her one, took one himself; it was lucky Lin Murong had not wandered over, or else he’d have had another chance to cry out about dog abuse.
His timing was just perfect. Su Yinhe finished the drama and the fruit right on cue.
Everything was just so perfectly timed.
He always had a good grasp on timing.
“Do they taste good?” Chi Yan asked her.
Su Yinhe still had the last piece of watermelon in her mouth.
She chewed, the watermelon was sweet, juicy, and delicious. “Tastes good.”
“Do you like them?” he asked again.
“I do, of course, I like them. How could I not?”
“Then I’ll make you another one next time. Or, I could go make a few more now, and store them away. When you feel like eating, just take them out…”
“No, no need, you… don’t need to make so much. Don’t overwork yourself. I feel so bad.”
“It’s not hard work, just cutting some fruit, how could it be hard work.” Chi Yan stroked her head.
“I know, just, I feel for you,” Su Yinhe cooed.
Chi Yan’s gaze deepened as he looked at her.
“Alright, thank you. I really… like you so much.” Always so good to him, how could he not like her. His fondness for her grew by the day.
He really wanted, so badly wanted, to lock her away.
For his eyes only.
Nobody else’s.
She was his and his alone.
But, he couldn’t do that, she would be unhappy.
He didn’t want her to be unhappy, he wanted her to do whatever she wished to do. To be happy.
“Ah… why… such a sudden confession. It’s embarrassing,” Su Yinhe touched her face, feeling it heat up.
Really.
“I don’t know. Maybe it’s because…” he liked her too much.
Because he was so smitten, he couldn’t help it, the love couldn’t be contained.
“Okay, okay, I get it, I know what you’re going to say. Don’t say it.” She… felt embarrassed. Really embarrassed.
Chi Yan looked at her and chuckled softly.
“Alright, as you wish.”
Lin Murong, wandering as he was, still ended up wandering over here.
Luckily, his timing was fine, not running into them.
But, it was a near miss.
“Well, Galaxy, you seem to be enjoying yourself, having dramas to watch, snacks, milk tea, and a man. And if I’m not mistaken, an empty fruit platter too,” Lin Murong said, throwing a glance at Chi Yan.
His last statement was blatantly sarcastic.
Su Yinhe: “…”
“Hehe, it’s alright. After all, I am the boss. If I don’t enjoy myself, who will?” Su Yinhe quipped, raising an eyebrow at him.
Lin Murong: “…”
Well… perhaps he has a point?
“Um… what are you doing?” Su Yinhe asked, curious about Lin Murong’s odd behavior.
Lin Murong was actually…
…sniffing the plate.
Yes, the one that had the fruit in it.
Smelled that good?
What an odd hobby.
“Me? I didn’t get any, can’t I at least get a sniff?” Lin Murong sounded quite aggrieved.
Su Yinhe: “…”
Alright, that was another story she didn’t know about.
Su Yinhe glanced at Chi Yan.
Something had happened between the two of them, again.
“Nothing, he’s just not right in the head.” Su Yinhe hadn’t spoken, but he knew what she was thinking; her eyes said it all.
Su Yinhe: “…”
Yep, diagnosed: both a little off.
In such a huge supermarket, she was the only normal person around.
They were all abnormal.
Only she was the most normal.
“You’re the abnormal one! Brother Chi, you’re falsely accusing people!” Murong was angry. It was bad enough not even getting a taste of the fruit platter, but to be slandered by Chi Yan on top of that?
Too much.
“Whether it’s a false accusation… you know best,” Chi Yan said expressionlessly.
Murong: “…”
It seemed… maybe it wasn’t a false accusation after all.
But still…
He was wrong but stood his ground defiantly.
It didn’t matter.
“No way, you’re slandering me, you apologize! Or else I… I will…” Murong stammered for ages but still couldn’t finish his threat.
“Heh. Take your time then.”
“Hey! Galaxy! Help me out here,” Murong, unable to do anything about Chi Yan, turned to Su Yinhe for support.
Su Yinhe: “…” She didn’t have much of a solution either.
She couldn’t… confront Chi Yan. Besides, she didn’t want to have a confrontation with him.
Su Yinhe’s eyes darted around, deciding to pick on Murong instead.
“Hey Murong, do you want some fries?”
Murong: “??? Sure…” Murong said hesitantly.
It wasn’t because he was too full to eat, he ate quickly and digested fast.
He’d be ready to eat soon.
It’s just that the way Su Yinhe asked sounded terrifying.
“Alright then, you go peel the potatoes. Once they’re ready, I’ll make you some fries,” Su Yinhe gave him a heart with her fingers.
Murong: “???”
“You’re making them yourself?!!!” Murong screeched in surprise.
“Yeah, touched?” Su Yinhe winked at him.
“Touched, so very touched,” Murong said, a bit frightened, “but, I really don’t need to eat them.” It wasn’t that he didn’t want to peel the potatoes; he was just scared.
“Not eat? Why not eat? What gives you the right not to eat? Eat! You have to eat! How could you not eat? I am personally going to make the fries, and you’re saying you don’t want to eat?” Su Yinhe didn’t look pleased.
“But… I wouldn’t dare trouble our boss to do such menial work. I can do it myself. And it’s not like I’m that fond of fries.” He actually didn’t like them that much.
Murong felt like crying.
“No way, you love them now. Wait until I make them for you,” Su Yinhe patted his shoulder.
“Ah… okay then.” Murong looked downcast, having a terrible premonition.
“Good boy. Go peel them,” Su Yinhe made another heart at him.
Murong: “…”
Damn it.
He really didn’t want fries anymore.
But Su Yinhe was forcing him to want them.
Damn it.
And he couldn’t even resist.
Murong obediently went to peel the potatoes.
Su Yinhe felt very clever, averting an argument without making a sound.
But as Murong was dispatched to peel potatoes, she forgot about Chi Yan.
The moment Murong left, Chi Yan became unhappy.
“You’re making him fries?”
“Ah, yeah. What about it?”
“No, I don’t agree,” Chi Yan was clearly displeased.
“Why? It’s just fries.”
“You haven’t made any for me. You’re making them for him first,” Chi Yan was not happy.
“Ah, but… um… you… don’t like this kind of stuff, right?” This kind of stuff, fried, was Chi Yan’s least favorite.
“I may not like it, but it’s made by you,” Chi Yan liked anything made by Galaxy.
“You… cough cough cough,” Su Yinhe was a bit embarrassed.
“Well… once they’re done, you eat first, and Murong can have the leftovers,” Su Yinhe suggested a solution.
Chi Yan was actually still not very satisfied.
