Chapter 264: Chapter 246: Cure Diseases and Even Deliver Babies!

"Why do you have so many questions?"

Pei Zhan turned his body around, picked up the outer robe hanging on the footrest, and tied it on. "Just now, Guo Song told me that the second and seventh brothers were looking for me. I don’t know what they want. I’ll go check it out; you go to bed first."

With that, he walked towards the door while tying his belt.

He moved so quickly, it felt like Fu Zhen was chasing him with a stick.

"Isn’t it too late to think of finding the second and seventh brothers now?"

Fu Zhen watched his figure dash out the door, raised an eyebrow, then also stood up and lay back on the bed.

Guo Song was just about to clock out when he saw Pei Zhan hurriedly rushing out, his hair casually tied, and his robe messily fastened. He blurted out, "General, did the Young Madam kick you out?"

He knew it!

The groom moving out with his bedding on the first night of the new marriage—how easy did he think going back would be now?

Pei Zhan glared at him with displeasure, "What nonsense are you saying?"

Before Guo Song could respond, he added, "We’re going to the Liang Family!"

Guo Song asked, "What are we doing at the Liang Family at this hour?"

Pei Zhan kept walking out, "The Young Madam has some belongings to retrieve; I’m going to find out exactly what they are!"

"..."

...

Fu Zhen wasn’t aware of when Pei Zhan returned. She was getting healthier nowadays, almost always able to sleep soundly until dawn.

So much so that she almost forgot Pei Zhan was still in the room after waking up. She was taken aback when she opened the curtains and saw a fully dressed man sitting by the window below the brocade bed.

Pei Zhan stood up and said, "The old military doctor has arrived in the capital. I’ve arranged for him to stay at a villa not far from the Zhe Family’s place; later, Guo Song will take you to see him."

Fu Zhen asked, "Aren’t you going?"

"I have other matters. I’ll come find you two once finished."

With that, he headed out the door.

Fu Zhen was preoccupied with saving Zhe Yu’s life and didn’t care about him. She hurriedly finished breakfast and went with Guo Song to find the military doctor.

Just as she reached the front yard, a little plump ball lunged toward her, precisely clutching her legs and shouting, "Auntie Fifth, where are you going?"

Fu Zhen, with her fragile body, couldn’t handle such an impact. Dazed, she grabbed Liang Xuan’s back collar, "Let go!"

Liang Xuan released his hold, and Fu Zhen simultaneously let go but then pinched his cheek, "I told you not to bump into me!"

Liang Xuan protested, "It hurts!"

"You still know it hurts?" Fu Zhen snorted. "Why are you here? Is your confinement period already over?"

Back when Fu Zhen married Pei Zhan, this kid caused quite a bit of trouble behind the scenes, leading his mother to confine him. It’s been days since she’s seen him.

Rubbing his cheek, Liang Xuan said, "My mother sent me to extend an invitation. She said the Commandery Princess from Prince Rong’s Mansion has been settled, and now that you’re free, Auntie Fifth, you should visit our house as a guest."

Fu Zhen gave a sidelong glance, "With so many people in your house who know how to handle things, why did they specifically send you? You must have wanted to escape for some fun, right?"

Liang Xuan spread his hands, "Anyway, it’s not delaying anything."

Fu Zhen said, "Then you go play with your Uncle Mu. I need to go out! Tell your mother later that I’ll visit your house tomorrow."

With that, she headed toward the carriage.

Liang Xuan trailed behind her step by step, "Where are you going? Is it far?"

"Neither too far nor too near, but I’m definitely not taking you."

Fu Zhen got into the carriage and eyed him from inside the window.

Liang Xuan leaned against the carriage window, "Why not take me along? I’m not annoying."

"You’re not annoying now, but if you follow me, you might become annoying."

Fu Zhen wouldn’t let this sticky kid come along. She’s on serious business—how could she bring this troublemaker?

Liang Xuan bit his lip, pondered for a moment, and then said, "If I tell you a secret, can you take me with you?"

Fu Zhen gave him a sideways glance, "I’m not interested in your secrets."

"It’s not my secret; it’s Uncle Fifth’s secret." Liang Xuan lowered his voice mysteriously.

Fu Zhen paused, then eyed him, "What’s up with him?"

"Let me come with you, and I’ll tell you."

Fu Zhen rested her elbow on the window, thought for a moment, and nodded her chin, "Alright, get on."

Liang Xuan quickly climbed up.

Once inside the carriage, he found a seat and sat obediently, his big eyes rolling around taking in their surroundings. Then he looked at Fu Zhen, "Auntie Fifth, this carriage looks like my Granny’s carriage."

Fu Zhen replied indifferently, "Oh?" She then opened her eyes, "Have you ridden your Granny’s carriage?"

"I haven’t. But last night, Uncle Fifth came to our house; he and father went to the courtyard where my Granny used to live, and I sneaked in afterward and saw a carriage parked in her courtyard."
