Chapter 76: Blessing or Curse

Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Blessing or Curse

In the car, Jasper Sinclair looked at the restless woman in the passenger seat, his eyebrows furrowing even tighter.

Who on earth had the audacity to dare do this?

On the way to the hospital, he called Louis Hayes, asking him to investigate the situation.

Louis agreed without any delay.

The car sped all the way to the hospital, and fortunately, after the doctor examined her, they confirmed it was nothing serious; two injections would suffice.

Looking at Nora Northwood’s pale face on the hospital bed, he felt a sudden pang of guilt.

It wasn’t until after midnight that the medication effects completely wore off.

When Nora woke up and saw Jasper Sinclair by her bedside, she could hardly believe it.

She wanted to get up, but at this moment, her body was so weak she had no strength.

Jasper, feeling her move, instantly perked up: "How are you feeling? Still uncomfortable?"

He worriedly looked her over, touching her forehead, only relaxing once he confirmed she no longer had a fever.

"I’m fine now." Nora shook her head. Knowing Jasper saved her, she felt somewhat touched. "How did you know where I was?"

After she asked, the room fell silent.

How could he possibly explain? He couldn’t tell her he had bodyguards watching her all the time.

He cleared his throat, finding an excuse: "Actually, I happened to see you being taken away on my way home and followed them all the way to the hotel."

Nora didn’t doubt him; after all, Mr. Sinclair had no reason to lie to her.

"Do you know who kidnapped me?"

She frowned in confusion; she rarely clashed with others, so who would want to harm her so badly?

"Just focus on recovering; leave this matter to me. I’ll inform you as soon as there’s news." Jasper raised his hand to touch her head.

The unthinking intimate gesture left them both startled.

Staring at Mr. Sinclair in a daze, for some reason, she suddenly blushed.

The atmosphere between them grew increasingly intimate, and Nora even felt her feelings subtly changing. But then, the next moment...

"Nora, you can be discharged. When you go back, rest more, drink plenty of water to detox, and return for a check-up if you feel unwell."

The nurse suddenly entered, breaking the atmosphere between them.

Clearing her throat, she quickly returned to normal, "Got it, thank you."

Jasper felt a bit uneasy, "Shall we go home then?"

She didn’t speak, just nodded in agreement.

From that day on, she no longer had to do household chores. Jasper specially hired an auntie, saying it was for her to rest well.

The auntie was an old employee of the Sinclair Family. Before she came, she heard the young master say she must keep his identity a secret. She was curious but slowly understood what was going on later.

When she saw Nora at their home, she had the same thought as the old lady.

In the future, the young master would definitely regret it.

"I’m going to the flower shop now." She grabbed her backpack, ready to head out. As soon as she spoke, Jasper finished his breakfast in a few bites.

He walked over to help her with her bag, "Let’s go, I’ll take you there."

Ever since that incident, he insisted on personally taking her wherever she went.

To hide his identity, he specifically asked Louis to buy him a car worth around 200,000. Although the driving experience was quite lacking, it was still decent.

The relationship between them had indeed grown much closer, yet it seemed like something was still missing.

Lily Sloan watched her wave goodbye to Jasper, teasingly saying, "Isn’t this a blessing in disguise for you?"

She smiled and shook her head, "Who knows."

Whether it was a blessing or a curse, she couldn’t say. As for her relationship with Mr. Sinclair, that would require observation before deciding how to handle it.
