Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Will She Be Happy
The beautiful almond-shaped eyes seemed to turn into two sharp blades, directly targeting Owen Lane.
Suddenly taken aback, Owen Lane glanced aside evasively.
He didn’t know which matter President Sinclair was referring to.
As he was thinking, he noticed from the corner of his eye the approaching figure, the expertly crafted leather shoes gradually nearing.
When he reached the front of him, a large hand suddenly rested on his shoulder. No words were needed; at this moment, Owen Lane was so nervous he was about to wet his pants.
"Do you know what kind of employee I despise the most?"
Jasper Sinclair spoke in a low voice, his words tinged with coldness, resembling a vengeful ghost demanding justice, causing Owen Lane’s heart to pound uncontrollably.
"President Sinclair, I..."
Before he could finish, Jasper Sinclair snapped his fingers, and Louis Hayes came in with a pile of documents from outside.
Following President Sinclair’s instructions, he placed them on the ground, silently lighting a candle for Owen Lane in his heart.
Isn’t this like pulling whiskers on a tiger’s face? Daring to covet President Sinclair’s money, is he courting death?
"Is it because you thought these small profits wouldn’t matter to me?" He spread the documents open in front of Owen Lane.
With long strides, he walked to the single sofa and sat down, leisurely leaning against the backrest, quietly appreciating his final struggle.
Like a king.
He had someone investigate the monitoring from that day and found how arrogant this guy was when giving money to Nora Northwood.
Now he’s no different from a turtle with its head withdrawn, truly amusing.
His wife being bullied by such a person, thinking of this, he couldn’t help but snicker, feeling an even stronger urge to strangle Owen Lane.
"President Sinclair, these are all setups by others. Believe me, I absolutely didn’t..."
"And the money embezzled yesterday was also someone setting you up?" Saying this, Jasper Sinclair brought the surveillance footage to his face.
From the start, there was courtesy between Nora Northwood and Lily Sloan, to Owen Lane’s arrogant demeanor, and finally to the two women’s compromise, all clearly captured by the camera.
"This..." At this moment, Owen Lane was completely panicked, his body trembling uncontrollably: "President Sinclair, I was just momentarily confused. My child at home is sick and needs money. I really had no other way."
For a grown man to cry like this, Jasper Sinclair found it utterly distasteful.
"Momentarily confused? I think not." He snorted coldly: "Momentarily confused would mean taking your child’s life-saving money to buy luxury goods for your lover?"
With a derisive laugh, Owen Lane really had become accustomed to feigning deep emotions.
"President Sinclair, please give me another chance!" Owen Lane paid no heed to his dignity; he only knew that if he got fired for this matter, he shouldn’t even think about finding another job.
"I hate two kinds of people the most in my life: One is those who steal what’s not theirs, and the other is those who are less than animals."
Jasper Sinclair sneered, a man who has a son in the hospital but buys luxury goods for his lover, and ironically with money embezzled from his company.
He’s tread on every landmine, how could there be any chance given?
Let alone the injustice Nora Northwood suffered yesterday!
"Prepare your things and get out." After saying this, he stood up and had the security team escort the man out. No matter how much he pleaded from behind, he paid no attention.
All he could think of now was, if Nora Northwood knew the person who bullied her faced retribution, would she feel happy?
Suddenly stunned in place, he wondered what was happening to him lately!
Why does he think of Nora Northwood at the drop of a hat? Shaking his head, he tried to shake these thoughts out of his mind.
At this moment in the flower shop, Nora Northwood looked at the order in her hand, once again puzzled.
Why have there been so many big orders lately?
"Oceanic Inc., it sounds so familiar." She murmured to herself.
