Chapter 156: Megan Underwood as the Third Party

Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Megan Underwood as the Third Party

Nora Northwood watched as Megan Underwood flitted around the room like a social butterfly, handing out business cards and introducing the brand.

At first, she was a bit bewildered, but gradually she found her footing and moved through the room alongside Megan.

They garnered quite a few contacts along the way, with several people voluntarily leaving them their business cards.

"See, I wasn’t lying to you," Megan said, raising an eyebrow.

Back in the day, she had struggled to build the brand step by step with that person; when the brand eventually grew, she moved behind the scenes as a designer. But she didn’t expect it all to end in disgrace.

Just as they were speaking, a woman holding a wine glass walked over.

Her expression was mocking when she laid eyes on Megan.

"Oh, I thought I was seeing things, but it really is our Gorgeous Ms. Underwood. What brought you out of retirement?"

The woman’s tone was harsh, and Nora frowned, feeling a bit displeased.

Megan gave a cold snort, "What, are you blind?"

Her tone was impatient.

The woman looked momentarily upset by the retort but quickly composed herself.

Taking a sip of her drink, she looked at Megan with disdain.

"It’s no big deal; I just thought mistresses had enough sense not to show their faces again."

Mistress? Nora was a bit stunned; it was clear things were heading in an unexpected direction.

But Megan didn’t seem like someone who would do such a thing.

"Oh? Nancy Quinn, you’re really just Luna Mackenzie’s good little lapdog. You say whatever she tells you to say. You call me a mistress? I wonder, does Luna Mackenzie dare stand here and explain everything to my face?"

"I think you’re just spouting nonsense! Even Zachary Shaw admitted you’re the mistress. What face do you have to make demands here!" Nancy Quinn was incensed.

She just couldn’t stand Megan acting this way.

Always pretending to be innocent while meddling in Luna’s marriage, yet she goes around telling others she’s not guilty.

A crowd suddenly gathered around them.

This dramatic scene had entirely captured their interest.

Megan glanced at her with extreme disdain.

"Back when I was running around with Zachary Shaw handling business, who knows whose bed Luna Mackenzie was on. If you really think about it, she was the third party who climbed up the ranks."

Nora realized roughly what was going on.

However, it wasn’t her place to intervene.

Nancy, knowing she couldn’t win the argument, snorted coldly and left.

The epic battle didn’t materialize, and everyone dispersed disappointedly.

Megan sneered, "Look at these people, all proper on the outside but secretly hoping to watch others make fools of themselves."

Shaking her head, she took a deep breath and regained her composure, pulling Nora along to continue networking, but from then on, Nora had a principle.

She wouldn’t collaborate with those who questioned her about this matter, nor with those who tried to probe indirectly. As it turned out, they were all hypocrites.

Once their work was mostly done, the two of them didn’t linger at the party.

On the way back, Megan looked at Nora with an apologetic gaze.

"After today, I’m afraid the Shaw Family won’t let us off easily."

This matter would surely reach Luna Mackenzie’s ears, and that bitch was an expert at pillow talk.

"It’s alright. Didn’t you say that with you around, we can definitely make the studio successful?" Nora was utterly unconcerned, feeling that Megan wasn’t at fault here.

Megan was growing more and more appreciative of her personality.

"Alright, trust me. With me here, I can certainly help you grow the company!"
