Chapter 98: Uninvited Guest

Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Uninvited Guest

"Well, having a difference is good, it can be an opportunity for Yuna Hughes to train herself. If she handles this trial well, then let’s wish her a bright future."

Even without saying it, Nora Northwood understood the remaining unspoken words: if she can’t handle it, then it’s up to fate.

After all, Yuna Hughes brought this upon herself.

It was already late when she left the master, and she went straight home instead of going back to the flower shop.

At the moment, Jasper Sinclair was sitting in the living room reading documents. He glanced at her as she returned but merely raised an eyebrow without any further reaction.

The atmosphere in the room started to become somewhat tense, so she got up and went to the kitchen to cook.

Before long, Lily Sloan sent her a message.

"Darling, I’ve sent you a big gift. You better show it off to your husband. Couples fight and then make up, so don’t be too bashful."

She gasped in shock, a big gift?

Thinking about it, could the big gift be...?

Just as she was pondering, the doorbell rang. She was preparing to get up and answer the door, but Jasper Sinclair beat her to it.

Seeing him holding a package, she mentally cursed but was too late to stop him as the man opened it first.

With the sexy lingerie inside, the air between the two of them became extraordinarily awkward.

Her toes could almost curl up and hide in the three-bedroom apartment.

"Is this... what you prepared?" Jasper Sinclair didn’t know what to feel, angry? It didn’t seem like it. In fact, he felt a hint of anticipation?

He almost wanted to slap himself; what in the world was he anticipating!

His ears burned with heat, trying his best not to think about it, but he couldn’t help imagining what she’d look like in it.

"Lily was just joking." She quickly snatched the package, then dashed to throw it back into the bedroom.

When she came out again, she pretended as if nothing had happened.

Yet they both knew something had changed.

The next day at the flower shop, she couldn’t help but want to throttle Lily Sloan.

"What kind of nonsense did you send me!"

"What, did you have a great battle last night?" Lily Sloan, a little girl without even a boyfriend, acted like a worldly-wise person at this moment.

She had barely finished speaking before being poked by her friend: "Battle your head. Mr. Sinclair and I aren’t in that kind of relationship."

After speaking, she ignored her and intended to continue working at the back, but suddenly an uninvited guest arrived at the shop.

...

Yuna Hughes sat on the sofa, her eyes fixed on Nora Northwood.

"Nora, are you satisfied now? I left the master so you could stand beside him, fulfilling your wishes and his too."

Her voice carried a trace of resentment, one she didn’t realize herself, leaving Nora Northwood unsure whether to reprimand her or pity her.

"What is there for me to be satisfied about? The master never had any intention of taking me as a disciple, but you, the master treated you well usually. How dare you act like this towards him!" Talking about it made her furious.

"Because of you, all because of you. The man I like, you want to snatch, and the master I revere, you want to steal too. Nora, how can you be so malicious!"

Accused for no reason, Nora Northwood just wanted to protest her innocence — what had she done?

Even Lily standing to the side felt like this woman had a persecution complex.

"The man you like doesn’t like you. Shouldn’t you think if it’s because you’re not good enough? What does it have to do with our dear Nora?" She rolled her eyes, truly inexplicable.

Yuna Hughes sneered: "You play the role of the pitiful girl, so everyone stands up for you."
