Chapter 113: It’s Nora, Not Yara

Chapter 113: Chapter 113: It’s Nora, Not Yara

Nora Northwood watched as Jasper Sinclair’s body suddenly stiffened.

She murmured softly for a moment, then turned around to continue with her own tasks, ignoring him.

Seeing her in such a mood, Jasper felt a sharp pain in his heart for a moment, unable to pinpoint exactly what he felt.

He clicked his tongue, but in the end, said nothing.

While eating, he casually asked, "I heard the Lockwood Family gave vika to you before?"

"Yeah, but they never contacted me, so I just took it as a joke."

She didn’t even lift her head, no longer as warm to him as she used to be, and now she wouldn’t even spare him a look.

Jasper scratched his head and took a deep breath.

Although he didn’t understand the peculiar feeling in his heart, he still wanted to clarify things with Nora.

After eating, Nora packed up and was about to go back to her room.

As she passed the living room, he suddenly grabbed her.

She looked over in confusion, "Is there something else?"

"I want to talk to you. I feel like something’s off about you lately." Jasper’s eyes darkened, and without waiting for her consent, he pulled her over.

He was strong, and Nora almost fell into his arms.

But at the thought of Yara, she quickly braced herself against the sofa’s backrest.

Even though this caused her wrist to ache, she didn’t let go.

He looked at Nora with pain in his eyes and quickly released his grip, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to."

How could he have known this little woman would be so stubborn?

"It’s nothing, Mr. Sinclair, please speak quickly. I need to get back to my studies soon." Graduation from the night school was approaching, and she didn’t want to waste the hard-earned opportunity.

With her arms crossed, her face showed no expression.

The light from above shone down on her, making her resemble a luxurious puppet, mechanically looking at Jasper, then mechanically playing with the fruit beside her.

But unintentionally, he noticed that the little woman’s hands were trembling slightly as she pretended to be strong.

"I just want to ask, have I done something recently that upset you? Or was it about last time at the hotel..."

He was cut off by Nora before he could finish, "No, nothing at all. I don’t want to bring it up again, Mr. Sinclair, please don’t mention it."

After saying this, Nora abruptly stood up, but Jasper didn’t give her a chance to escape again.

"Let’s just clear this up today. What did you mean by Yara last time?"

He asked straightforwardly, and after Yara was mentioned last time, Nora’s mood had plummeted.

Perhaps this was the core issue.

Seeing him bring it up voluntarily, Nora didn’t avoid it anymore; she pulled away from his hand and then sat in front of him with a stern expression.

"Since Mr. Sinclair asked, let’s sit here and clear things up."

She lowered her gaze and recounted the incident at the hotel that day clearly.

But for some reason, the more she talked, the worse Jasper’s expression became. Eventually, he seemed at a loss for words.

She didn’t understand what Mr. Sinclair meant, could it be that she was being too talkative?

The atmosphere between them turned awkward, and after a moment, Jasper spoke again.

He rubbed his forehead and sighed helplessly, "Are you really upset just because of that?"

"Is that not allowed?" Nora seemed hesitant at his reaction, could there be more to it?

"I’m also really curious about who this Yara is," he said, then laughed helplessly, "Of course, I knew it was you at the hotel that day, but I was calling you Nora, how did you hear Yara?"
