Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Let That Guy Taste Defeat
Nora stared at the two men in front of her, speechless. They behaved just like children.
In the end, she didn’t get into either of their cars. She turned around, took Lily, and hailed a cab back to the studio.
In the car, Lily hesitated before asking her close friend, "Between you and President Sinclair..."
Although President Sinclair’s behavior was somewhat inappropriate, they were already married, surely it couldn’t become a big issue, could it?
Actually, Nora didn’t have much confidence either. She shook her head to indicate to Lily that she didn’t want to talk about it now.
The car was silent all the way to the studio.
She was momentarily surprised to see Grandma Sinclair waiting for her at the studio: "Grandma? Are you feeling better now?"
Concerned, she carefully went to support the elderly lady, making sure her movements were gentle.
Grandma Sinclair really liked her very much. After all, she was the granddaughter-in-law she had chosen.
"I’m fine, girl, don’t worry too much." Saying this, she followed Nora to the second floor, sat down in the office, and got to the point of her visit: "I heard that you’ve found out what that brat has been up to?"
Hearing the compassion in Grandma Sinclair’s voice, Nora’s nose tingled; she nodded, nearly crying.
"Yes, I’m not sure what to do."
Her voice was choked up because, after all, it hurts to be deceived.
But then she recalled that it was Grandma Sinclair who had brought them together in the first place, and with their vastly different statuses, she could understand.
It’s just that she couldn’t accept it as quickly.
"Don’t feel bad, girl. He was worried about me being deceived, though you’re who I picked, and you couldn’t be wrong. That boy is tasting what it’s like to shoot oneself in the foot now."
"But it’s quite normal for him to act that way, actually, back then, the Sinclair Family and the Leigh Family were in a marriage alliance."
"That Leigh girl heard that the Leigh family’s business was facing troubles and might not recover, so she fled the marriage."
When discussing this, Grandma Sinclair shook her head. Every time she thought about it, she still felt for that brat.
Nora nodded, realizing she hadn’t known such a backstory existed.
Seeing Nora frown and lost in thought, Grandma Sinclair raised her hand to hold Nora’s small hand.
Nora’s family issues she had learned about from Sid, but she didn’t think much of it, just felt sympathy for this girl who had to endure all this at such a young age.
"Don’t overthink, it’s good for him to face setbacks, so he doesn’t always act so self-righteous."
"Since Nora has married in, the Sinclair Family recognizes you as the only granddaughter-in-law. Nora, don’t worry, don’t believe the gossip."
Grandma couldn’t help but worry.
The second branch certainly wouldn’t settle down, especially that little niece from the daughter-in-law’s family.
Sighing, she decided to see how the young ones would handle it. As long as it doesn’t go over the top, she wouldn’t intervene with the second branch.
After talking with Grandma Sinclair for a while, Nora felt much better.
She reassured her multiple times that she wouldn’t overthink, easing Grandma’s worries.
Once Grandma left, Lily came over: "Nora, I have to say, although President Sinclair was somewhat excessive, your marriage is actually quite fulfilling."
Originally, she was thinking of deciding based on President Sinclair’s attitude.
But Grandma Sinclair personally came to see Nora, and this feeling of being valued made Lily happy for her friend.
Listening to her friend’s words, Nora nodded, took a deep breath, and walked to the window.
Looking outside, she seemed deep in thought; from a calm gaze to one filled with a smile.
Seeing her this way, Lily understood and felt relieved.
