Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Caught Nora Northwood’s Weakness
"President Sinclair? Does that mean he’s really rich?" Spencer Ford, unaware of much else, only knew that money could buy a lot of good food.
"Yeah, almost no one is richer than him. Thirty thousand is nothing to him."
Rachel Woodward felt immensely satisfied seeing the expressions on their faces.
Seeing that she had achieved her goal, she didn’t stay longer and just said she had things to do and went inside.
Once inside the private room, she looked at Lynn Woodward with a smile: "Auntie, guess who I saw on the way here just now."
Lynn Woodward was puzzled, could it be Jasper Sinclair?
"What, is Jasper outside?"
Shaking her head, Rachel told the whole story, leaving Lynn Woodward slightly surprised before a smile reappeared on her face.
"You clever girl, but how did you know that woman was Nora Northwood’s biological mother?"
"I saw her just as I was about to come in. She was muttering outside about being Nora Northwood’s mother and that she shouldn’t be kicked out, so I waited outside for a bit. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been late." Rachel sat down.
Lynn Woodward turned her little eyes, immediately coming up with a plan.
"Tomorrow, I’ll go see the old lady, and you come with me. Tell her all of this so she can see what kind of person the granddaughter-in-law she fancies really is."
Getting even more pleased as she spoke, she even started contemplating how to send Rachel to Jasper after the old lady drove the person out.
At that time, with ties strengthened by marriage, the Woodward family would have a chance to rise again. Rachel could put in a good word, making Jenson’s business less challenging.
Both harbored their own thoughts, extremely delighted.
...
The next day, Jasper Sinclair didn’t let Nora Northwood go to the studio; instead, he decided to take her somewhere.
The car drove to a manor district in the suburbs. She looked at the surrounding scenery, feeling immensely relaxed and happy.
Even though she didn’t know who they were about to meet, she felt exceptionally at ease.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a villa in the mountains. It had to be said, the owner of this villa had arranged the surroundings beautifully.
She admired the mountain landscape around her and then followed him all the way into the villa.
The doorbell rang, and a woman’s voice came from inside: "Who is it?"
The voice was lazy and magnetic, making Nora Northwood blush involuntarily, much to Jasper Sinclair’s jealousy.
"Jasper Sinclair," he announced himself. Upon hearing his name, the woman hung up the phone, and he looked displeased at the little one beside him: "Do you think your husband’s voice isn’t attractive?"
She pushed him away with a red face: "Stop fooling around."
Just after she said this, the door opened. The woman was wearing a burgundy strap dress, her wavy hair casually draped over her shoulders.
She held a lady’s cigarette in her hand. She had no reaction upon seeing Jasper Sinclair, but the moment she saw Nora Northwood, her elegant cat eyes lit up.
"Where is this little sister from?" Her earlier indifference vanished, now replaced with warmth.
Jasper Sinclair was somewhat displeased, pulling Nora Northwood inside.
The woman extinguished the cigarette in her hand, closed the door, and followed inside.
"Why are you visiting me at this time?" she frowned, the mole beneath her eye adding a touch of sensuality.
"I want to ask you to come out of retirement," Jasper Sinclair said casually, then looked at Nora Northwood beside him: "Nora needs a professional perfumer, and you owe me a favor, so I came to find you."
The woman was taken aback, "Come out of retirement?"
