Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Assessment Venue, the Principal Arrives in Person!
The Angel Race’s stronghold.
The elders suppressing the Seraph realized something was wrong at this moment.
Why hasn’t the Clan Scion returned yet?
"Could something have happened?"
An elder of the Angel Race turned his head and asked his nearby companion.
"Impossible! Isn’t someone following the Clan Scion?"
Suddenly, the Holy Flame in the hall abruptly flickered.
An imposing figure appeared out of thin air, with eight pairs of radiant golden wings spreading behind him...
It was none other than Mars Miller, the Archon of the Seraphim!
"Michael is dead."
Mars Miller’s voice was as cold as ice, "Find out who did this."
The elders exchanged glances.
They knew the Archon was not truly concerned about this son’s life or death...
Mars had numerous offspring and could appoint a new Clan Scion at any time.
What truly enraged the Archon was...
The Breaking Realm Blade!
The Angel Race’s treasured artifact had been stolen by Michael and lost!
"We will investigate immediately!"
The four elders knelt on one knee, eyes filled with disbelief.
How could someone of Michael’s strength fall in a mere sanctum?
After the elders left, Mars turned and walked toward the underground prison.
At the end of the dark passageway, the last batch of Seraphim was imprisoned.
"Mars! You traitor!"
An elderly Seraph cursed at the sight of him, "The Clan Leader treated the Seraph Legion with deep kindness, yet you dare betray him!"
Mars ignored the words, his cold gaze fixed on Summer Gardner in the center of the crowd.
Though the Seraph Princess was covered in scars, her back remained straight.
"Summer, this is your final opportunity."
Mars’s voice was like a serpent’s hiss, "Tell me the whereabouts of Lazuli, or else..."
Summer suddenly laughed, her smile full of mockery:
"You don’t dare kill us! My brother is only missing, not dead!"
"That’s why you’re searching for Lazuli like a mad dog, afraid he’ll suddenly come back one day!"
Mars’s pupils suddenly contracted.
Indeed, it was this fear that kept him from killing the Seraphim.
Just.
Seeing the ridicule in Summer’s eyes, his expression darkened.
"You’re right, I indeed don’t dare kill you..."
He slowly raised his hand.
Soon after, several Seraphim approached, carrying torture devices that glimmered with a cold light.
"But I can make you wish you were dead."
When Mars’s figure disappeared at the end of the passageway, heart-wrenching screams echoed in the dungeon.
...
At the third assessment venue.
The place was packed with people.
Various media outlets had all gathered here to report on this annual grand college entrance examination event.
"Every year these colleges come up with new tricks! Who knows what the assessment will be this year?"
"Who cares about that? We just need to see who this year’s champion is! He’s the strongest in this cohort!"
"How could that be? The true geniuses have long been specially recruited by the major colleges, as for the ones left..."
"That’s not necessarily true. Five years ago, the principal of Aegis Academy came to personally recruit someone!"
"You did mention it was five years ago. The assessment wasn’t perfect then, which is why that genius was missed. But now..."
"Special recruitment is absolutely unlikely!"
Amidst the crowd’s chatter.
The candidates who had passed the first two assessments entered one by one.
Bianca Shelby was naturally among them.
At this moment.
Her eyes scanned the venue wildly, trying to find that familiar figure.
However.
She found nothing.
"Captain, stop looking, Aster Grant isn’t here. I reckon he hasn’t arrived yet! If we spot him, we’ll notify you immediately."
"Yeah, Captain, with us here, as soon as Aster enters, we’ll recognize him right away!"
Hearing her teammates’ teasing, Bianca’s face flushed slightly.
To be teased by her own teammates in such a way, she felt quite embarrassed.
And beside her, the Succubus, hearing their conversation, lowered her head silently.
She now fully understood the situation, not daring to harbor any hopes of Aster Grant becoming her master!
Perhaps, from the day she betrayed Aster, her fate was destined!
However, Aster at least spared her life!
Yet, it was at this moment.
The sky suddenly darkened.
A large group of Flying Beasts suddenly appeared above the examination venue.
Amid the shocked gazes of the crowd, the principals of various prestigious schools landed one after another.
The most notable among them was naturally the silver-haired elder in the group.
This was Zane Drake, the principal of Aegis Academy.
He was also the pillar of Draconia.
A Monarch Tier Nine Beast Tamer!
"Whoa? Why is the principal of Aegis Academy at the examination site?"
"It’s not just Aegis Academy. Black Dragon Academy, Yellow Dragon Academy... It seems that all the famous schools in Draconia have sent their principals!"
"Why are they here? They can’t possibly be overseeing the exam!"
"Fool! There’s definitely a true genius here, and they all have one goal for coming: special recruitment!"
"Special recruitment?! You’ve got to be kidding, who could warrant such a spectacle?"
Amid the crowd’s chatter, sparks seemed to fly among these principals.
They all had received the message!
Considered a peerless genius by Abel Vance, no matter the cost, they had to bring this person into their school.
However, their toughest competitor was...
Everyone turned their eyes to the figure at the very front.
Aegis Academy!
They didn’t expect the principal of Aegis Academy to be present himself this time.
"Why are you here, Drake?"
Beau Lawson, the principal of Black Dragon Academy, hesitated repeatedly before stepping forward.
As one of the two Monarch Level Tamers present, he felt qualified to converse with Zane Drake.
"What do you think?"
Zane Drake glanced at him indifferently, giving Beau no face.
Everyone knew why they were here, so why pretend?
Beau’s facial muscles twitched slightly, yet he dared not act out.
He had no way to deal with Zane Drake.
Yet, though he respected Zane, he felt he must strive for this student, Aster Grant.
He took a deep breath and cupped his hands in respect:
"Please understand, Drake, but this talented student is someone I, at Black Dragon Academy, must compete for!"
This statement was like pouring water into a frying pan, and the other principals couldn’t sit still:
"Phoenix Academy must also..."
"We at Caelus Academy..."
The scene turned chaotic in an instant.
In the corner, a principal wearing gold-framed glasses timidly reminded:
"Shouldn’t we first find the main person before arguing red-faced, what if they’re..."
Before he could finish, the venue suddenly fell silent.
As everyone calmed down, they had to admit he made sense.
Zane Drake’s brows furrowed, and his immense spiritual power instantly covered the entire examination area.
The other principals followed suit, and nearly a dozen spiritual powers intertwined into a net, sweeping through all the students present.
"How strange..."
Beau’s brows furrowed more and more, "Why can’t I sense the boy Abel Vance mentioned?"
The atmosphere suddenly became peculiar.
The usually commanding principals found themselves at a loss, faces filled with confusion.
???
The genius was missing?!
"Could it be..."
A principal suddenly thought of something, his expression turning odd.
"The boy never showed up?"
...
