To be honest, Sheng Chenjin understood a little about phone performance, but this was his first time visiting an electronics store and encountering overly enthusiastic salespeople. Sheng Chenjin felt a bit flustered.
He walked ahead, and as soon as they entered the mall, a swarm of people immediately surrounded them. Shi Xinxin, following closely behind, had only just taken in the scene when Sheng Chenjin was already engulfed by a crowd.
She nervously pulled Sheng Chenjin closer, "Why is this place so terrifying?"
"More terrifying than the places selling cosmetics," Sheng Chenjin said, not even sure if they could escape intact.
"Perhaps we should leave it to the assistant?" Shi Xinxin suggested softly.
"That sounds like a good idea," Sheng Chenjin immediately agreed, taking Shi Xinxin's hand and turning to leave. It seemed they needed to be more selective about the malls they visited.
Previously, they had enjoyed themselves immensely in ordinary large malls, but they had never imagined that the salespeople in the electronics section could be so frantic.
By the time they entered, both of them were startled and pale. Shi Xinxin had shopping experience, but due to financial constraints, she had barely paid attention to electronics.
As long as a phone could still make and receive calls, Shi Xinxin considered it usable. It wasn't until she moved into the villa and Sheng Chenjin insisted on getting her a phone that she finally retired her old, incredibly laggy Samsung that she had used for five or six years.
After entering the mall, the couple didn't want to go home so early. They wandered around the mall as usual and chose a restaurant.
After a satisfying meal, they slowly returned to the villa. In Shi Xinxin's opinion, it was just another minor drama, and nothing else was particularly noteworthy.
She no longer even bothered with Ye Yun's harassment. For some reason, she mused, looking at herself in the mirror, "I've suddenly become so strong."
As usual, she finished her bedtime routine early, lay down in bed, and soon drifted off to sleep. The next morning, she arrived at the office as energetic as ever.
Initially, everyone was worried about yesterday's events and whether they would affect her mood. However, upon closer observation, Shi Xinxin seemed no different.
The interns were still a bit apprehensive, worried that Shi Xinxin was just putting on a brave face. They specially prepared hot milk for her at breakfast. Shi Xinxin smiled.
To reassure the interns, she drank the cup of hot milk, which was meant to be calming and good for the stomach. In the end, the milk did serve its purpose.
Because around ten o'clock, another woman appeared in the office, just like Ye Yun yesterday, asking for Shi Xinxin by name.
When the receptionist ran over to Shi Xinxin and quietly told her someone was looking for her, Shi Xinxin didn't expect it to be Ding Muyu.
Upon seeing her, Shi Xinxin felt a slight surprise. Ding Muyu had changed her clothes and was no longer wearing a ball gown. Dressed in a limited-edition Chanel ensemble from the current season, she stood before Shi Xinxin, exuding an air of a well-bred socialite.
"What do you want with me?" Although Shi Xinxin had regained her confidence, she still harbored lingering resentment from their last encounter.
While she hadn't shown anger in front of Sheng Chenjin, Shi Xinxin's intuition told her that a former girlfriend acting so arrogantly towards the current girlfriend couldn't be good.
As a woman, Shi Xinxin found Ding Muyu's behavior highly objectionable.
"Please don't misunderstand. I've come here for your own good."
"If it's for my own good, then please stay away from me," Shi Xinxin said, about to turn away.
Ding Muyu stepped forward and said slowly, "If I were you, I'd choose to have a good chat with my opponent and resolve this struggle as quickly as possible, rather than constantly evading."
Shi Xinxin stood still, pondering. What she said was indeed true. Although Sheng Chenjin had chosen her, as long as Ding Muyu refused to break up, she would continue to be harassed.
She could handle it, but what if this woman refused to let go of Sheng Chenjin? After some thought, she decided to follow Ding Muyu's advice.
"There's a cafe downstairs. Let's go there to talk."
"Alright," Ding Muyu readily agreed and turned to leave.
The two went to the cafe and ordered their coffee. Shi Xinxin said impatiently, "If you have something to say, you can say it now."
Ding Muyu took out a file from her bag and handed it to her.
"What is this?"
"You'll know once you open it."
Shi Xinxin opened the file, which was filled with dense English. Even with a quick glance, she couldn't find a single word she recognized.
"You can't read it, can you? I specifically made a Chinese version and put it at the back," Ding Muyu seized the opportunity to mock her. Shi Xinxin felt disdain but, given her English proficiency, could do nothing.
She had no choice but to find the Chinese version of the document and read it carefully. Then she understood. The document stated that Sheng Chenjin was planning to purchase a manor in Australia, but she noticed a clear stipulation at the bottom.
The name on the manor was to be Ding Muyu's. She saw it there, her gaze fixed on Ding Muyu's name, unable to look up for a long time, unsure why.
Ding Muyu, watching her expression change, felt very satisfied. "This is the homecoming gift Chen Jin prepared for me. We agreed when we were dating that we wanted to go to Australia for our honeymoon, but I never expected my parents to do what they did. Because of that, our honeymoon was delayed for a long time."
"You're not even married yet, so where does a honeymoon come in?"
"We'll get married abroad, of course. The churches there are so beautiful, you've never seen anything like it, have you?"
Ding Muyu was constantly looking for opportunities to subtly insult Shi Xinxin. She knew Shi Xinxin had never been abroad, and she had probably only seen pictures of churches.
She smiled triumphantly, "Actually, this is something Chen Jin should have told you himself."
Ding Muyu said slowly, Shi Xinxin placed the document on the table and looked at her questioningly, "What do you mean?"
"To put it bluntly, you're just a pawn for Chen Jin. I told you that at the restaurant the other day, but you didn't believe me. Afterwards, when Chen Jin returned, I told him everything that happened between us."
Shi Xinxin didn't quite believe Ding Muyu. "He was very angry to know you were acting so high and mighty in front of me under the guise of his fiancée. He said he wanted to teach you a lesson, but don't take it to heart. Chen Jin, he's just got a temper like that. He's always worried about me being bullied."
