Chapter 477 The Instigator

Shi Xinxin’s words hit Liu Jia where it hurt. Enraged, she took a step forward and yelled, "Do you think Yue Ran genuinely likes you for who you are? Who knows what sort of charm you used to bewitch him like this."

"If, as you say, I used charm on him, and you can't stand it, then you can go try it too," Shi Xinxin retorted indifferently.

"You..." Liu Jia was so angry she couldn't articulate a coherent thought.

She raised her hand and rushed forward, intending to slap Shi Xinxin. But before her hand could land, she was pulled back by a black-clad thug.

Liu Jia glanced at Xiaomi, thinking to herself that this woman was not as innocent as she appeared. She wondered if Xiaomi was helping Shi Xinxin prank her. Since she was already in such a disadvantageous position, it might be best to start with Xiaomi.

"Do you think you're popular, kind-hearted, and liked by everyone?" A mocking expression spread across Liu Jia's heavily made-up face. She pointed at the silent Xiaomi and said, "Heh, Shi Xinxin, you'd never guess that your assistant, Xiaomi, already sold you out."

Shi Xinxin remained unfazed, neither crying nor getting angry. She simply said calmly, "Oh, really? Then please tell me, how did Xiaomi sell me out?"

The corner of Shi Xinxin's lips twitched. As long as Liu Jia fell into the trap and kept talking, tonight would be the day of her "ruin." After this, no one would be able to save her.

Little did they know, reporters and media personnel were hidden in the adjoining room and private booths, waiting for Liu Jia to reveal the "truth" herself.

"This morning, your assistant Xiaomi and I reached an agreement to drive you out of the entertainment industry. Heh, why are you so unbearable, so fake and hypocritical? Look, even your closest friend despises you and betrayed you."

Liu Jia said triumphantly, glancing at Xiaomi as she spoke. To her surprise, Xiaomi's expression remained unchanged, as if the matter had nothing to do with her.

She continued, "Shi Xinxin, do you know? You coming to this room tonight was all my doing! I set this trap and had Xiaomi bring you here! And, these thugs in front of you were also people I hired. Do you understand? From the very beginning, you were an ant in my hand! I can crush you as easily as I want, whenever I want!"

As soon as Liu Jia finished speaking, several reporters suddenly rushed out from the private booths and adjoining rooms. Some carrying cameras, others holding microphones, they scrambled towards Liu Jia as if they had struck gold.

These reporters and media personnel began firing questions like machine guns as soon as they appeared. Liu Jia, flustered, looked at them and, just as she was about to run, was grabbed by a few of them.

Liu Jia's face, which moments before had been proud, indifferent, and stunningly beautiful, was now as pale as paper.

"Miss Liu Jia, are all the things you just said true?"

"According to you, you seem to have many opinions about the popular actress Miss Shi Xinxin. Where do these opinions come from? Are they related to Yue Ran?"

"Miss Liu Jia, you just said you personally hired these thugs. What was your purpose in doing so? Was it to harm Miss Shi Xinxin?"

The incessant, rapid-fire questions erupted from the reporters like artillery shells. Liu Jia stared blankly at the scene, her hands and feet feeling uncontrollably weak.

She only knew that the moment the reporters burst out from the corners and booths, it felt as if all her bones had been drained. She wanted to run, but her legs felt heavy as lead.

Despite Liu Jia's hundred unwilling thoughts, her pale and panicked face was captured by the reporters' cameras.

In such a situation, silence was undoubtedly an admission. Seeing Liu Jia not answering, the reporters became even more brazen with their questions. Some reporters, unable to get any information from Liu Jia, immediately turned their attention to Shi Xinxin.

"Miss Shi Xinxin, facing Miss Liu Jia's scheme and frame-up, do you have anything to say?"

"Miss Shi Xinxin, please tell us about the grudges and entanglements between you, Liu Jia, and Yue Ran. Can you reveal anything?"

Shi Xinxin smiled calmly, preparing to give a perfunctory, official-sounding response when a figure suddenly stepped forward and blocked her. Shi Xinxin looked down to see her assistant, Xiaomi.

Xiaomi spread her arms, standing between the reporters and Shi Xinxin, and said sternly, "You all saw and heard it with your own eyes just now. Liu Jia admitted that it was all her conspiracy. As for Xinxin, she is merely a victim. Shouldn't you be interviewing the mastermind behind this?"

With that, she fixed her gaze sharply on Liu Jia.

Hearing Xiaomi’s words, Liu Jia immediately gritted her teeth in anger. She clenched her fists, wishing she could slap Xiaomi to death.

So, Xiaomi had never disliked Shi Xinxin and had never been on her side. She had deliberately approached her only to extract her plan.

It seemed she was the most foolish and stupid person, completely in the dark and being led around in circles without realizing it.

Thinking of this, Liu Jia let out a cold laugh, so chilling and eerie that everyone present shivered.

Just as the reporters continued to photograph and question Liu Jia, she suddenly blurted out, "Have you asked enough? Have you photographed enough? A person's patience has its limits."

As she spoke, she turned her head and cast a meaningful glance at Shi Xinxin and Xiaomi. If she could, she truly wanted to kill these two women with her own hands and make them understand what regret was!

Liu Jia turned back, gritted her teeth, and prepared to break through the reporters' encirclement to leave. But as soon as she took two steps, she was swarmed by the reporters following closely behind.

Countless microphones were thrust in her face, and more questions exploded towards her like cannonballs. Liu Jia wanted to leave but couldn't break free, stamping her feet in frustration.

At this moment, from outside the crowd, Shi Xinxin patted Xiaomi's shoulder and said softly, "Xiaomi, we should go now."

Xiaomi looked at the "good show" unfolding before her and pouted slightly with displeasure, muttering softly, "Xinxin, don't be in such a hurry to leave! The show has just begun, let's stay a little longer."

Shi Xinxin sighed. She glanced at the thugs kneeling on the ground and the black-clad bodyguards standing behind them. Turning to Xiaomi, she said, "Listen to me, we're leaving now. The fire is too big, and we might get burned."
