Bai Xiaozhou

Chapter 457 Cannot Be Compared

Gao Yuan had been very busy lately, managing company affairs and looking for Sheng Chenjin, so he rarely appeared at the company. Wen Xiaoxiao, dragging her tired body, went to wash up and get ready.

After finishing her wash, Wen Xiaoxiao called her assistant. After a brief inquiry, she put down the phone and looked at Shi Xinxin, who was waiting expectantly by her side. Wen Xiaoxiao's eyes still held a hint of disappointment in Shi Xinxin's lack of ambition.

"Gao Yuan is at the company now. Wait, is it appropriate for you to go to the company now? If you get photographed again, who knows what absurd headlines will come out." Wen Xiaoxiao grabbed Shi Xinxin's arm to pull her back. However, as soon as Wen Xiaoxiao finished speaking, Shi Xinxin had already left. Wen Xiaoxiao sighed, a feeling of unease washing over her. She had a strange illusion that Shi Xinxin had stayed at her place for the night so obediently because of this.

Wen Xiaoxiao shook her head and placed her phone on the table to pack her luggage. After all, she had a flight in the afternoon and needed to prepare properly. Wen Xiaoxiao got up and busied herself with packing.

Shi Xinxin got out of the car, pulling down her baseball cap, and discreetly entered the film set. She had already taken off her sunglasses, and some staff members recognized her. As Shi Xinxin walked by, she could still hear their hushed whispers.

Listening to the murmuring staff, Shi Xinxin lowered her hat and walked out of the film set. She got back into the car. Shi Xinxin touched her reflection in the mirror, her resolve to go to America strengthening.

Someone as dazzling as Sheng Chenjin, a star among stars, needed a celestial body by his side to complement him. Shi Xinxin gazed at her reflection, wondering what right she had to be compared with Sheng Chenjin.

Shi Xinxin's eyes were fixed on her reflection. If she were to look at the woman in the mirror from someone else's perspective, she would probably also say she wasn't good enough. But Shi Xinxin was willing to become strong, perhaps one day she too could become a star.

Dreams were essential. Shi Xinxin drove into the flow of traffic. Time always passed so quickly, and it was already noon. Shi Xinxin looked out at the bright sunlight through the car window, a new glimmer of hope blossoming in her heart.

After returning home and having a simple lunch, Shi Xinxin began to pack her luggage. She didn't know how long this trip to America would last. She wanted to grow and become better, but she had no idea what awaited her there.

Sheng Chenjin's image remained in her mind, no longer a source of confusion but a motivation to strive harder.

Wen Xiaoxiao sat in front of her computer, her fingers flying across the keyboard. She compiled all the information that Shi Xinxin might need, including potential dining options, accommodation, and even contact details of some American editors she knew.

Her stomach, which hadn't eaten since morning, was starting to protest with a few grumbles.

Wen Xiaoxiao went to the kitchen. The sunlight outside was fierce; the midday sun always brought a sense of languor. After eating, Wen Xiaoxiao collapsed onto her bed, turned over, and then returned to her desk.

Wen Xiaoxiao walked to the desk, picked up the remaining files, and flipped through them. Most of them were headlines about Sheng Chenjin's mysterious disappearance. Wen Xiaoxiao's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at the exaggerated wording.

She sat down and tapped a pen on the desk, lost in thought.

These negative news reports were overwhelming. Even if she went to America, it wouldn't be easy to shake them off. Shi Xinxin's negative news would remain negative news, and if handled improperly, it could all be dug up.

Wen Xiaoxiao knew this. She took out a few blank sheets of paper. Shi Xinxin couldn't just leave vaguely anymore. Wen Xiaoxiao flipped through the news articles again, analyzing them slowly.

Shi Xinxin had arrived at the door. She knocked softly, interrupting Wen Xiaoxiao's train of thought. The circled parts on the documents seemed to be the key points.

"You're here at the perfect time." Wen Xiaoxiao looked into Shi Xinxin's eyes. Shi Xinxin's pure and innocent demeanor made her sigh with emotion. Such purity and earnestness, uncorrupted, would surely lead to a better future.

"What time is your flight?"

Shi Xinxin had changed into a simple white dress with no patterns, but its design was incredibly flowing and beautiful. The hemline accentuated Shi Xinxin's fair and slender legs. Coupled with her beauty, a single smile could captivate a city.

"It's still early. Come here for a moment." Wen Xiaoxiao, with her usual decisive manner, sat in her chair, looked into Shi Xinxin's eyes, and pointed at the files.

"Look, these are your main image issues right now. Although you can start anew in America, you still need to consider these negative aspects." Shi Xinxin listened to Wen Xiaoxiao speak as if she were listening to a leader's address.

"We need a plan now." Wen Xiaoxiao looked up, her tone still carrying an air of authority. Shi Xinxin didn't mind; she felt a warmth in her heart seeing the plan Wen Xiaoxiao had devised.

"What plan?" Shi Xinxin turned and sat on the sofa, looking at Wen Xiaoxiao as she continued to explain her strategy. Shi Xinxin had never thought about these things, yet Wen Xiaoxiao had considered them so thoroughly for her.

"A plan to clear your name! Your image needs to be gradually transformed."

Wen Xiaoxiao spoke to Shi Xinxin, as if speaking to herself as well.

Shi Xinxin stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. Her mind was filled with memories of her time with Sheng Chenjin. Shi Xinxin longed to turn around and see Sheng Chenjin behind her, looking at her with such deep affection.

Leisure always led to wandering thoughts. These matters replayed in Shi Xinxin's mind. Suddenly, Ye Yun's face appeared. Reflecting on everything, it seemed connected to her. She had no evidence or proof that Ye Yun was behind the schemes, only speculation running wild in her mind. Shi Xinxin placed her hands on her arms. Perhaps these things were just coincidences. In the past few days, she hadn't considered them at all. Her eyes were no longer filled with confusion.

Shi Xinxin didn't want to pursue it further; it was enough for her to have a clear understanding in her heart.

Just as she regained her senses, Shi Xinxin heard Wen Xiaoxiao speaking and quickly walked over. She stood beside Wen Xiaoxiao. The blank paper was now covered in writing.

"How is it? We can make minor adjustments based on the situation later."

Wen Xiaoxiao handed it to Shi Xinxin, who was silently touched. When she felt lost, Wen Xiaoxiao was always there for her. Shi Xinxin put down the plan and hugged Wen Xiaoxiao.

"Thank you, really, thank you." Shi Xinxin's tears couldn't be held back. Looking at the plan, it felt as if her path was already laid out, a sense of comfort that only Wen Xiaoxiao could provide.

"When you make money, you'll have to pay me."
