Chapter 75

Chapter 75: Chapter 75

In the rest of the Academy most of the teachers were heading towards the ends of the wall that Professor Descar Ametz had erected, on the west side, as they had yet to stop the invasion of the abominable beings, which caused them to be uninformed or unaware of the presence of the intruders wearing black robes and hoods.

At that moment, in the male dormitories, in his room, Mart was storing 10 level 5 demonic wands in his demonic ring.

"That’s 50; I’ll try to use them wisely," Mart thought as he stood up, then dressed in the Academy uniform, as he finished, he walked towards Iristel, took her by the hand pulled her towards him carefully, kissed her deeply, and then said to her:

-Do not leave this building, I will make sure the surroundings are safe.

-If you see Menna, help her. -Said Iristel and kissed Mart goodbye.

After the kiss Mart nodded, he activated his demonic perception to the maximum.

"System, report to me any trace of demon god energy," Mart indicated in his mind, as he preferred to make sure not to overlook what he couldn’t get to perceive.

[Demonic system: tracking demon god energy...]

Even so, Mart inspected the surroundings, to make sure that there was no one suspicious, then ran through the corridors of the dormitory which were illuminated by demonic lamps and luminous stones, he reached the second floor, he could perceive the presence of many students who were hiding in their rooms and others were alert and prepared with their staffs and demonic weapons. After inspecting the corridors he continued with the other floors until he felt that the building was relatively safe, at the end of the inspection he went up to the roof of the building and threw four level 5 demon stones to the west, east, north and south of the building he was in.

Mart surveyed the surroundings, it was pitch dark except for the areas illuminated by lanterns containing glowing stones.

"It’s a suitable night to take refuge in the shadows; but if I manage to harness the wave of demon god energy that surged in the west maybe I will ascend to the fourth rank," Mart thought, but in the distance, near the buildings in which classes were held, he could faintly hear some explosions from the place where he was.

Mart jumped from the top of the building, and slowed the speed of the fall by using on himself the power with which he floated the ten blades above him.

Mart ran while drinking a level 3 demonic energy potion, and every certain distance he dropped a demonic stone, when he was getting close to the source of the explosions, he jumped on the roof of the buildings of the academic cafeteria, knelt down placing only his right knee on the ground, and then created a demonic diagram right in front of his right eye with which he enhanced his demonic vision as if he was using a telescopic sight.

In the distance, Professor Mertien had burns on his left arm with which he held his grayish staff, everything around him was stained with soot, only the place where the two students were standing was intact, Mertien’s look showed his exhaustion.

-Damn devil. I commend you for your determination, I’m glad things turned out this way, it would have been problematic to meet alone face to face. -The intruder indicated, raising his black staff with the glowing orange gem at its top.

On the intruder’s staff, five fireballs appeared, increasing the temperature of the environment.

-Let’s see, I know it won’t be long before the three of them are roasted! -said the intruder and threw the fireballs.

Professor Mertien raised some walls behind him.

-Professor. No!" shouted one of the students in desperation.

Bang!

Fireballs exploded, and a few stone bullets reduced the damage, but Professor Mertien could barely hold on with the help of his staff.

-Oh, you held on. That’s better. Then I’ll send them to hell together," exclaimed the intruder, creating a spear of glowing incandescent fire that illuminated the surroundings as if it were day.

Mart who had been watching everything, had already floated a level five demon wand.

"What the hell! This professor is great; I don’t know who you are but you can’t kill him", thought Mart who quickly created one demonic diagram after another, just like on Marrac mountain there were 4 diagrams, but now the spiral tipped demonic blade was formed by concentrated level five demonic energy.

"That’s it, trust me, so you won’t know what happened," thought Mart who was just waiting for the right instant to activate the fourth diagram that was already fully prepared to fire the blade.

The intruder started swinging his staff towards the professor and....

Bang!

A deafening roar crossed the distance in less than the blink of an eye.

The black staff with the glowing gem fell to the ground, the power of the concentrated energy blade was greater than Mart expected, and when the blade hit its target it turned the head, neck and part of the thorax of the intruder whose remaining body remained standing for a few seconds into a bloody red mist.

Mart had jumped shortly after firing the blade, dropped some demonic stones and quickly ran towards the intruder’s body, as he had observed the power possessed by the staff.

When he arrived, Professor Mertien had sat down on the floor, and was surprised to see Mart Sevec arrive. "Was that you?" was the question the professor didn’t get to ask, as Mart threw him a demonic energy potion and a regenerative potion, both level 5.

-Professor, I charge twice the value of the potions. Professor demand compensation from the Academy, I’ll be waiting.

Mart smiled cordially, took the black staff with the glowing gem and walked away before he was asked for the staff.

"Why do I sense two forms of energy in this staff? System, analyze the energy forms contained in this staff?", Mart stated as he headed towards the maids’ sleeping quarters, to fulfill Iristel’s request.

[High level staff (rank ?) : contains demonic energy and mana]

"A demonic human?", Mart asked in his mind.

[It’s possible, the host just killed a human].

[You have killed a human with a power greater than yours : demonic reward].

"I thought about it when I read that book about mana and demonic power. I know how greedy humans are, if they know about the pact and the potential it would be strange if they didn’t use it, but what demon is willing to pact with humans; unless...?", Mart approached the maids’ sleeping quarters and felt the presence of four energy fluctuating.

"Another battle?", Mart thought but passed by while continuing to throw demon stones as he went some distance.

In Principal Persec’s study hall, Isirid observed all the chaos that had occurred, she was somewhat puzzled, but her attention was directed to an area near the training fields where an abominable being appeared resembling a monstrous humanoid worm whose head was doughy, round and with several round eyes looking everywhere, its body was covered by a dark exoskeleton and on each side of its body it had ten legs that did not stop moving.

The abominable being had intercepted the path of seven students, among which two stood in front of the rest, they were Meleic Asfent and Sara Veniac, both known as the second year prodigies.

The abominable being did not wait and began to shoot poisonous projectiles which were intercepted by the demonic ice icicles of Sara Veniac, however the projectiles did not stop their advance but they did lose some power which Meleic took advantage of to destroy or deflect them using his powerful scimitar wrapped in demonic energy. Even so, the disadvantage was evident, the students were using all their power to contain the enemy and the enemy being of a higher rank contained and absorbed more power, the only thing that prevented the students from falling was that the scimitar was a powerful demonic weapon and treasure that in exchange for demonic energy, cut and resisted any attack as long as it was fed.

The scene made Isirid feel ridiculous and helpless, she considered herself a prodigy and genius and now she was in hiding and before her eyes there were two students considered prodigies risking their lives to protect their classmates, about that, she knew the story of Meleic, who was the only one who grew in reputation after what happened on Marrac Mountain, an event that cost Meleic one of his arms.

"I’m sorry grandfather. I am no less than these students. I will not let them die if it is in my hands the chance to save them," Isirid thought as he ran out of Principal Persec’s study hall to the place where Meleic and Sara were fighting the abominable being.

As Isirid Merliana moved away from the study hall, a teacher hiding in the distance who had been watching Isirid’s movements pulled out a Magic crystal and reported:

-The main target is in range.
