As she heard this, she turned around to look.
When she saw the person calling her name, Yun Shu’s eyebrows shot up in surprise.
“Prince Ning.”
Zhan Tianyu smiled gently and nodded, “Miss Yun Er seems a little tired?”
“Not tired, just out for a stroll,” Yun Shu replied indifferently.
In such a large hot spring resort, there must be more than one place for a private moment.
Yet, they happened to meet here.
To call it a coincidence, who would believe it?
“Miss Yun Er seems to be quite guarded against this King. May I know why?” Zhan Tianyu’s tone remained gentle, as if he were genuinely curious about Yun Shu’s distance and coldness.
Yun Shu raised an eyebrow, “Oh? Do I? I don’t think so.”
“It seems you are still very wary of this King. However, it doesn’t matter. Time is long, and everything will become clear in due course. If Miss Yun Er has any discomforts at the hot spring resort today, you may instruct the servants here.” Zhan Tianyu adopted the attitude of a host.
He was truly attentive to his guests.
If one didn’t know Zhan Tianyu’s true nature, the gentle and courteous Zhan Tianyu before them could easily leave a bad impression.
One might even think that Zhan Tianyu was an absolute gentleman standing in the sunlight.
“Alright,” Yun Shu smiled and nodded.
Zhan Tianyu suddenly looked up towards the distance, “Unconsciously, it’s already so late. Before returning to the capital, I often brewed wine and admired the moon in my manor. Those were truly carefree and leisurely times. Now that I’ve returned to the capital, there are so many matters to attend to, I’ve forgotten how to be carefree.”
As his words fell, he realized he had spoken out of turn and said apologetically, “This King has lost his composure.”
Yun Shu’s eyes flickered slightly, and a bit of doubt truly arose in her heart.
What was the meaning of these disjointed words? Zhan Tianyu didn’t seem like someone who talked much. Pretending to inadvertently speak of past events, he seemed to be reminiscing about the days before coming to the capital, yet he also exuded a sense of frailty.
Yun Shu smiled faintly at the corner of her lips.
“It’s alright, I’ll take my leave first.” Yun Shu had little patience for Zhan Tianyu’s evasiveness.
After saying she was leaving, she turned and walked away.
After walking a considerable distance, A’cha looked back at Zhan Tianyu.
Seeing this, she frowned and whispered to Yun Shu, “This Prince Ning is too cunning. I just happened to see him drop his smile, and the moment his smile disappeared, he looked terrifying.”
“That’s right,” Yun Shu laughed.
How could the true strategist hidden behind the scenes be someone who was constantly lamenting their misfortunes?
Just hearing it gave one goosebumps.
Zhan Tianyu stood in place, his gaze following Yun Shu like a shadow until she was far away. His gaze was deep.
After no one was around, someone quietly approached him from behind.
“That woman is the Divine Physician Yun Shu?”
When Zhan Tianyu heard the question from behind him, he said in a deep voice, “It is her.”
“I suspect Prince Ye can already stand. Do not be deceived by Prince Ye. Remember, once you return to the capital, you cannot take a single wrong step! You must resolve everything as soon as possible. The Western Xia Kingdom cannot wait much longer,” the man dressed in the hot spring resort’s servant attire reminded him.
Zhan Tianyu’s expression immediately turned grim. “Alright.”
…
As Yun Shu was on her way.
She happened to encounter Yi Zixing.
After not seeing him for some time, Yi Zixing appeared much more composed.
“How is Duke Zhongyong’s health now? He should be able to get out of bed and walk around by now, right?” Yun Shu inquired.
Yi Zixing smiled and nodded, “He was able to get out of bed and walk a few days ago. A doctor examined him and said he should recover significantly in another period of time. If it weren’t for the prescription you gave, my father’s life would have been in grave danger.”
Due to the numerous events that had transpired recently, each one had caused him to mature rapidly.
He was no longer as impulsive as before.
Nor did he trust anyone easily.
When facing Yun Shu, he restrained himself much better than before, maintaining a considerable sense of proportion and distance.
Yun Shu was relieved. “That’s good. If there are any problems, send someone to find me. My father was very concerned about Duke Zhongyong when he left the capital and left behind many things, asking me to send them to Duke Zhongyong’s manor if I had the chance.”
“I thank General Yun on behalf of my father,” Yi Zixing immediately clasped his hands in greeting.
Regardless of who passed by at this moment, seeing the two of them interacting politely would not spread any rumors.
Yun Shu looked at Yi Zixing, who had a hint of weariness in his eyes, and sensed that he had something to say but hesitated. He seemed to be carrying some burden in his heart, so she lowered her voice, “Are you trying to ask about Qian Le’er’s situation?”
Yi Zixing’s brows furrowed.
“She experienced some incidents and is currently recuperating. She told us that she deeply apologizes to you and the Duke. She was blinded before and believed a scoundrel. She will be careful in the future and will not cause you any trouble,” Yun Shu continued in a soft voice.
Qian Le’er’s whereabouts were currently hidden. To prevent Jiang Luoxi from tracking her and to allow Qian Le’er to fully recover, her current location could not be disclosed to Yi Zixing for the time being.
Yi Zixing paused for a moment. “Between Qian Le’er and me, she wanted to use me, and I was temporarily infatuated. In truth, she doesn’t owe me. Please convey to her from Miss Yun Er that we should each go our own way from now on.”
Once bitten by a snake, one fears a well rope for ten years.
He dared not easily trust any woman now.
“Alright.”
Yi Zixing seemed to have thought of something and added, “Thinking back, I don’t have any feelings for Qian Le’er.” His gaze fixed directly on Yun Shu.
In these past few days, after regaining his senses, he realized that when he learned of Yun Shu and Prince Ye’s affair, he was devastated and his first thought was to escape.
Even his father had called him a coward. Even if he hadn’t gotten what he wanted, he shouldn’t have given up and refused to face reality.
As a man, one should be able to take things in stride and let them go, and bless the person one likes openly.
And in his moment of confusion, he had done something that hurt himself and others.
His decision to come to the hot spring resort today was also made after much hesitation.
He dared not see her.
He felt that the feelings he had confessed to her back then had become laughable because of the events that had transpired recently.
Yun Shu’s eyes flashed with understanding. So this was the source of his distress. However, there were some things she could no longer persuade him about.
She responded with a smile and nodded.
Looking at Yun Shu’s smile, Yi Zixing’s hands, which were clenched at his sides, suddenly relaxed. For some reason, in this moment, he seemed to have suddenly understood.
He looked towards the brightly lit and lively scene not far away and gently reminded, “Prince Ning has set up a banquet at the hot spring resort. He is truly putting in a lot of effort.”
Yun Shu nodded gently, indicating that she knew, and then smiled meaningfully, “Since the capital is so troublesome, why not travel to the four seas?”
Yi Zixing smiled brightly. “Yes, it’s time to take my father out for a tour.”
…
After Yun Shu returned to her seat, she looked towards Zhan Tianye’s direction.
Seeing that Zhan Tianye was not there, her eyes flickered.
