Chapter 226 Do What Needs to Be Done

Nangong Wushuang revealed news that shocked everyone in the conference room.

The three elders were aghast. No wonder their actions against Nangong Wudi's mother and daughter had failed back then; it turned out the former patriarch had sent people to rescue them. The third elder had been wondering at the time who dared to oppose their Nangong family.

Zhuque, however, was not surprised by this news at all. "My master told me he was one of the Nangong family's retainers. He saved me back then because of your father's orders."

"So he knew long ago that you would return one day."

As if she had been waiting for this day, Nangong Wushuang unhurriedly placed a small box on the table. "This is what Dad asked me to give you."

"He even prepared a gift for me?"

Zhuque chuckled lightly. With a flick of her hand, the box opened, revealing a piece of jade carved with a phoenix.

"Dragon and Phoenix bring prosperity. Where is the dragon?" Zhuque looked at Nangong Wushuang. "Are you holding it?"

"Yes."

Nangong Wushuang took out another jade pendant she had been keeping. Paired with the phoenix, it depicted a dragon.

"A good gift. I accept it." Zhuque put away the box and tossed it to Jiang Tao. "General Manager Jiang, hold this for me for now. I'll get it from you after I'm done."

"Alright!"

Jiang Tao quickly put the box away. He felt out of place, wanting to escape. The entire conference room was filled with members of the Nangong family, and he was the only outsider. What if Nangong Wudi suddenly had a change of heart and returned to the Nangong family? Wouldn't he be courting death by staying here?

Just as he was thinking this, Zhuque walked up to the third elder.

"Nangong Tianhe." Zhuque looked at the third elder, her smile gone. Her vital energy was fluctuating intensely. "I still can't forget the day you brought people to my mother, how you grabbed her by the neck... If I remember correctly, it was this hand."

As she spoke, Zhuque seized the third elder's right hand. "You haven't changed that agate bracelet, have you?"

"You..."

"I didn't ask you to speak."

Zhuque punched the third elder in the mouth and then twisted his right wrist.

"Ah!!!"

With a cry of intense pain, the second elder immediately rushed to the third elder's side, supporting him, and glared at Zhuque. "What are you doing!"

"Doing what needs to be done."

Zhuque took the third elder's favorite agate bracelet and crushed it with a squeeze.

All the agates turned to dust.

She then looked at the second elder.

"And you. Back then, my mother knelt before you, begging you to spare me, but what did you do?"

Memories of her childhood flooded back, each one intensifying the hatred in her heart.

Without giving the second elder a chance to speak, she made her move.

The second elder fell to his knees with a thud.

Zhuque's foot landed on the second elder's ankle. "You stepped on my mother like this back then."

*Crack.*

After a crisp sound, the second elder gritted his teeth, staring fiercely at Zhuque, his vital energy seemingly on the verge of exploding.

Then, Zhuque struck his back with a palm.

The vital energy that was about to erupt was scattered by her palm strike.

"This time, I will reclaim everything that was taken from me before."
