It was clear that the real deal was upstairs.
These two were likely just minor figures from the Joyful Cult, perhaps not even official members.
As Lin Xiao spoke, he gestured to Ming Yi.
With a wave of his hand, the two men collapsed.
The masseur from earlier had already slipped away.
"These two are probably just outer members, the kind who only put their names down. The real big shots are upstairs," Lin Xiao said. He knelt down to examine the two men, finding a strange energy within them, concentrated around their hearts.
This energy was likely planted by a master-level expert. If these two acted against the Joyful Cult, this energy could very well be detonated.
"Let's go up."
Lin Xiao said, and the three of them quickly departed.
They changed their clothes, paid, and then took the elevator upstairs.
The bathhouse was quite large. Downstairs offered services like massages and scrubbing, in smaller rooms. Upstairs, however, had different offerings: acupuncture, moxibustion, and special massage treatments by top technicians.
The rooms were also much larger.
In short, the upper floors were for upgraded consumption.
As they ascended to the first floor, they didn't sense any presence of the Joyful Cult. The trio continued upstairs, and by the time they reached the top floor, things had changed.
There was indeed a familiar foul odor on this top floor. However, as soon as they exited the elevator, they were stopped.
"Gentlemen, I'm sorry, this is a members-only area. Only Platinum VIPs and above are allowed entry." The two security guards at the entrance immediately blocked them.
"How do you know we aren't members?"
Lin Xiao looked at the guards curiously.
"There are a total of one hundred and eight Platinum VIPs and above in this establishment, and I remember all their faces. That's how I know you aren't members here," the security guard replied.
"Impressive memory... So how does one become a Platinum VIP here?" Lin Xiao smirked, his gaze already piercing through the guards towards the back. Behind them were rows of private rooms, and these rooms seemed to have special treatments. He couldn't sense any distinct energy from within them.
He had to consider that very few individuals could conceal their presence from him, given his cultivation.
The fact that these rooms could achieve this indicated significant effort had been put in.
No wonder the peculiar foul odor outside was even fainter than that of the two men. If one wasn't actively searching for it, it would be hard to detect.
"I'm afraid I must apologize. Our Platinum VIPs and above require an introduction from an existing member. Membership cannot be obtained through any other channels. Therefore, gentlemen, please leave." The guard opened the elevator doors, gesturing for the three to enter.
"What's so special about this membership that it has so many rules?" Lin Xiao's eyes darted around. He then said to Hu Zhicheng, "Show them your credentials. We are police officers, and we suspect illicit activities are taking place here, including but not limited to prostitution."
Hu Zhicheng, with perfect cooperation, presented his ID to the guards.
