Ji Xingmi took Gu Jingyi to visit her mother's office. She also asked her mother for Feng Changze's medical report after he was hospitalized, but her mother hadn't performed the examination herself, so they would need to retrieve the report from the doctor. Fortunately, Mantis was now by Ji Xingmi's side and could help with many tasks.
"Looking at the report, do you suspect...?"
"I want to know what medicine Zhao Chen gave Feng Changze. Zhao Chen's medicine was supposed to control his mind, so why would it amplify Feng Changze's emotions?" This was something Ji Xingmi couldn't understand. She wondered if Zhao Chen's situation might have been manipulated by someone else.
"You mean Zhao Chen's previous state might have been due to this medicine? Could someone else have been pulling the strings?" Gu Jingyi also considered this possibility.
"I'm not sure. I don't know much about mental illnesses, so I wanted to see the drug test report to see if anything could be identified!"
Mantis quickly returned with the items. Ji Xingmi carefully examined his physical report but found no issues.
"How is it?"
"It seems like there are no problems here. Could I be overthinking things? Maybe Zhao Chen and the others' hatred for the Zhao family reached its peak, and they switched his medication. The fact that he gave this medicine to Feng Changze indicates he knew its effects."
"Don't worry. I'll tell Hao Cheng about this later. If there was medicine, there must be an origin. Let him investigate thoroughly."
"Mm! It's best if there are no problems! If his medicine was swapped, that would be too terrifying."
"I think the most likely scenario is that he took the medicine himself. He hated the Zhao family so much and wanted to destroy them. Zhao Sheng, with his more self-centered and even somewhat saintly personality, would also not destroy the Zhao family. Only the violent Zhao Rui could possibly do something like that. However, they had never met this person; they only knew of his existence through Ji Xingmi's descriptions. It was possible this personality had only recently emerged.
"That's also a possibility! Did you go yesterday too?"
"Mm." Gu Jingyi had indeed accompanied Ji Hao Cheng yesterday, but he hadn't done much. He had only taken a look. After that, he didn't stay, because upon seeing them, he knew that the decision to harm Ji Xingmi wasn't theirs, and the true culprit was no longer present.

"How about we go back, pack, and set off? We can stay out tonight! There are those two caves over there, they shouldn't be occupied by wild beasts yet!"

And so, the group of five set off towards Yunmeng Mountain. Xiao Ji returned in the morning when Ji Xingmi and the others left. Upon hearing that Ji Xingmi was going up the mountain, he followed without even resting.
As they climbed further, Ji Xingmi also discovered many usable herbs along the way. However, it wasn't the time to dig them up; they would come back later. They would mark them and collect them on their return. They were heading to the place Ji Xingmi had seen before to collect those herbs. Mantis, like a fish returned to water, had already disappeared, saying he was going to find some food. Ji Xingmi didn't mind him, knowing he would return soon.
