While eating, Ji Xingmi asked the person next to her, "Were you scared?"
"A little bit! Actually, you didn't have to..." Gu Jingyi paused when he heard her question, then answered.
"Originally, I never thought of telling anyone about this, but! I thought, we'll be living together in the future, and with your observational skills, you'll definitely notice something. Instead of lying to you again and again, it's better to tell you the truth. I bet you'll help me keep it from others!"
Gu Jingyi laughed when he heard her words, then looked at her seriously and said, "Have you already decided to spend the rest of your life with me?" Gu Jingyi didn't pay attention to anything else, but focused on this.
Ji Xingmi choked on her food, startled by his words. Gu Jingyi quickly put down his chopsticks, helped her catch her breath, and poured her water.
"I haven't thought about that yet. And what if you don't think I'm that great in the future, and you don't think this way anymore?" Ji Xingmi said after she had caught her breath.
"I won't! I..."
"Let's talk about this later, let's get through this first." She changed the subject and ate her noodles with big bites.
Seeing that she didn't want to continue the conversation, Gu Jingyi didn't press the matter. After they had a satisfying meal and cleaned up, Gu Jingyi placed their plates outside the door. Ji Xingmi took a book from her space and gave one to Gu Jingyi as well, and they spent the afternoon like that.
When evening came, the same person delivered their meal. They did the same thing as before, but this time they were eating fish. Ji Xingmi had caught the fish from her small lake, which was different from their fish, and so was the preparation. She didn't know what the people from the "Little Days" were thinking, their food didn't seem like the cuisine from Hua family's side, but it wasn't quite like the food from the "Little Days" either.
After they finished eating, they prepared to rest. Xiao Quan Zheng Yi did not come to disturb them. The person who delivered their food that night told them that they would not be allowed out of the room from tomorrow onwards. He didn't say why. But Ji Xingmi knew exactly why; she had been waiting for this. She told Gu Jingyi to get plenty of rest for the next two days, but didn't say anything else. She also entered her space and moved several of her warehouses behind the bamboo house, making room for things she was about to bring in. Ji Xingmi noticed that the misty area in her space had cleared up. She felt that this area had expanded because of her thoughts, and she wondered if it could be used in the future.
Ji Xingmi became a bit anxious these past two days, and Gu Jingyi could only try to comfort her. By evening, the surroundings became lively. It seemed they had already rendezvoused with the fleet. Ji Xingmi could also hear Xiao Quan Zheng Yi talking with others, but she couldn't make out what they were saying. However, her mind was not on him now.
She secretly peeked outside and saw what she was waiting for. However, she was a bit too far away to be sure she could succeed. But to get closer, she would need to find a way to gain control of this ship.
Her movement to open the door caught the attention of the person watching her, who came over and closed her door. Ji Xingmi ran to discuss taking control of the ship with Gu Jingyi. Gu Jingyi had been reading books about ships for the past two days, but he wasn't confident he could steer one well.
Gu Jingyi voiced his concerns. Ji Xingmi thought for a moment and said, "How about we keep the person who drives the ship and incapacitate everyone else, tie them up? They're poisoned, so they won't live long anyway! I'll give you this, you can use it, right?"
Ji Xingmi took out a new model submachine gun from her space. Elder Hua had helped her get it from a military factory, and she had stored it in her space.
Gu Jingyi raised an eyebrow at the sight of it, then nodded at her. Ji Xingmi gave him a pill, changed into more convenient sportswear, opened the door, and sprinkled some powder. The person guarding outside immediately fainted. Gu Jingyi dragged the person into the room and tied them up with rope.
Then the two of them walked towards where the crowd had gathered. They should be in the dining area at this time. Ji Xingmi crushed a pill at the doorway and threw it in. This was a knockout drug she had made into a gas. One pill could take down an elephant, so everyone inside would collapse within five minutes.
"Dr. Ji?" To her surprise, Xiao Quan Zheng Yi wasn't inside at this moment, and he saw them. Ji Xingmi gave Gu Jingyi a look, and he nodded, understanding. He had attached a silencer to the gun when they went out. If necessary, they would have to shoot first.
"I was just curious about what you were doing, so I came out to take a look. Mr. Xiao Quan, is this...?" Ji Xingmi turned and said to him.
"Dr. Ji, for your safety, you should return to your room." Ji Xingmi nodded at him. As they passed each other, a silver needle pierced one of his acupoints. He dazedly reached out to grab Ji Xingmi, but Ji Xingmi took a step back, moving behind Gu Jingyi. Xiao Quan Zheng Yi also collapsed, and the sound of things falling could be heard from inside the room. Gu Jingyi opened the door to check. Everyone inside had fallen down. He dragged Xiao Quan Zheng Yi inside, tied him up with the others, and shoved them into the kitchen there.
