Chapter 87 He Had No Heartbeat 16

Chen San marveled that the robot’s skin was far better than his own, even superior to that of many well-maintained women.

Technology was truly advanced!

Technology was such a good thing!

Chen San couldn’t help but feel a surge of anticipation for what was to come. He pressed down on the robot, lowered his head, and gave its beautiful little face a peck.

However, before the kiss could land, the robot’s slender hand grabbed his hair at the forehead.

“Damn it! That hurts! Let go!” Chen San cried out in pain. As he grimaced, the wound on his face was pulled, increasing the agony.

“Let go, let go, let go…” he gritted out.

But this time, the robot did not obey his command.

Instead of releasing him, he heard the crisp sound of bone being crushed in his neck.

This was the last sound he heard in his life.

Then, Chen San, in a terrifying posture, remained motionless, sprawled on top of the robot.

The beautiful fingers on his head released their grip.

Chen San’s head fell with a lack of resistance, but the skin of his connected neck pulled, and with his internal support gone, his neck sagged limply.

His head rested against the robot’s fair shoulder.

The robot gently pushed the person off its body, and Chen San was tossed to the floor like a rag doll.

Not a single drop of blood spilled from Chen San, and he lay there, lifeless.

At this moment, Chen San’s phone, which had fallen to the ground during his struggle, suddenly flickered on the screen, and a ringtone began to play.

The robot’s long, elegant hand picked it up. It glanced at the phone, pressed the mute button, and tossed it aside.

The beautiful robot stood up and began to survey the room and the various novel items within it.

It would curiously touch anything that piqued its interest, then display an expression of surprise.

After examining every part of the room, it revealed a look of satisfaction.

-

“Ding~ Dong~”

The doorbell rang.

The tall and handsome robot was rolling up its sleeves and holding a large pair of shears, trimming the branches and flowers in the garden.

A normal person standing in the garden wouldn't have heard the doorbell.

But 575 was a robot, built with the best chips, the most expensive materials, and the most advanced technology.

It could hear even the faintest of sounds.

It stopped what it was doing, glanced up at the second floor, then placed the large shears on the unpruned flowerbed before it and walked towards the entrance.

Meanwhile, in the largest room on the second floor, water was “swishing” in the bathroom as Wen Bai took a shower.

After his bath, Wen Bai, toweling his hair and wearing a bathrobe, walked to the balcony on the second floor. He saw the shears on the bushes.

He returned inside, opened the bedroom door, and walked to the top of the stairs, taking a peek.

The downstairs was empty, and the figure that should have been there had vanished.

Wen Bai walked downstairs and looked towards the kitchen, but he unexpectedly heard movement from the doorway.

Someone was talking, and it wasn’t his robot.

Wen Bai casually placed the towel he was holding on the table and walked to the door.

He saw 575 standing at the doorway, in a standoff with a young man.

“Excuse me, is this Mr. Wen Bai’s home?” the young man asked.

575 did not reply, only staring directly at the other person.

The man continued, “Excuse me, is this Mr. Wen Bai’s home? Are you Mr. Wen’s robot?”

575 still did not reply, its gaze fixed on the man.

The man across from it: “……”

Wen Bai spoke up, “What is it?”

Sensing Wen Bai’s presence, 575 immediately shifted its gaze to him, watching as Wen Bai walked from a distance towards him.

The young man opposite them seemed to finally breathe a sigh of relief.

He ran a small clothing store and didn’t have enough money to hire staff, only a robot to help with deliveries.

However, the delivery robot he used had suddenly malfunctioned and had been sent for repairs for days without returning.

Today, a large order had come in, practically buying out all the men’s clothing in his store, with a specific request for same-day delivery. Since he had no one else, the owner himself had to make the delivery.

He sighed, regretting his decision to buy a second-hand robot.

The small shop owner perked up, “Hello, excuse me, is this Mr. Wen Bai’s home?”

Wen Bai replied expressionlessly, “I am Wen Bai.”

The young man’s face lit up with relief, “Mr. Wen, hello, this is the item you purchased from my store today. Please sign for it.”

Wen Bai blinked; he hadn't bought anything.

System 001 suddenly chimed in, “I bought it~ I bought it! I bought clothes for 575. Look, he doesn’t have many clothes. Are you going to let him wear the same outfit from the research center every day?”

When 575 was delivered, it had an outfit. By the time it was damaged, the clothes were ruined.

The damaged outfit had already been discarded when it was sent for repair. The clothes he was currently wearing were provided by the person in charge at the research center.

Wen Bai fell silent.

He truly hadn’t considered these issues.

System 001’s tone was proud, “I bought the most expensive clothes on the market. Host, your current identity is summarized by one word: ‘wealthy.’ How can your robot wear ordinary clothes?”

Wen Bai silently accepted the delivery slip and confirmed the receipt.

At this point, the small shop owner wore an expression of extreme apology and politely said, “Ah, yes, guest. My little shop is newly opened, and I’m doing everything myself, so I haven’t considered all aspects. I don’t know how, but the prices of the clothes on my online store were somehow entered incorrectly. The prices of each item later had many zeros added to them for some reason. I will deduct the correct prices for the excess payments and refund them through the original payment method. I am truly sorry.”

System 001: “……”

Wen Bai: “……”

After the shop owner finished speaking, he single-handedly, with great effort, unloaded nearly 30 shopping bags from his small cart and carefully placed them in Wen Bai’s living room. Then, he drove off in his small car with a flourish.

Wen Bai looked at the shopping bags strewn across the floor and was briefly speechless. “So you bought him so much.”

System 001 began to regain its footing. “Of course not. There are also new accessories from the store. I saw that you humans have all sorts of accessories. Although this store wasn’t as expensive as I thought, the styles looked quite good.”

Moreover, 575 had such an outstanding appearance; he needed to be well-maintained. If the host didn’t notice these things, it, as a system, had to be more concerned.

Wen Bai ignored System 001 and turned to the unusually tall and handsome robot. “Why aren’t you speaking?”
