"Is that so?"
Feng Jin's tone was filled with suspicion and doubt, which only strengthened her conviction that Ling Mo Han was lying.
Otherwise, with Da Bao's abilities, it was absolutely impossible for him to fight three children much taller than him all by himself. She pondered for a long time, but couldn't think of any other explanation.
"Of course."
The man turned his head, affirming with a hint of uncertainty.
"Stop pretending. Do you really think I'm stupid and easy to fool? If you hadn't taught them martial arts, with Da Bao's meager skills, how could he have possibly won!"
Seeing that the matter could no longer be concealed, Ling Mo Han's heart suddenly faltered. He had felt that this secret wouldn't last long, but he hadn't expected it to be revealed so quickly.
Feng Jin glared fiercely at Ling Mo Han and said impatiently, "You better tell me the truth. How long have you been teaching them, and what have you taught them? Explain everything, word for word. Try saying one false thing and see what happens."
Finally succumbing to Feng Jin's formidable presence, Ling Mo Han recounted the entire incident, withholding nothing.
"Is that all? Have you hidden anything?"
Her beautiful eyebrows rose slightly as Feng Jin's scrutinizing gaze fell upon Ling Mo Han, assessing him.
"That's all."
Now it was Feng Jin's turn to be unsure. If he had only taught them this little, how could Da Bao be so formidable?
"This is impossible. If you only taught them basic moves, Da Bao wouldn't be this capable. Did someone else teach them besides you?"
Ling Mo Han's next words directly negated Feng Jin's conjecture: "Impossible. Ling Manor's security is extremely tight; they couldn't have possibly come into contact with anyone else."
The more he thought about it, the more impossible it seemed to Ling Mo Han. After pondering for a while, he suddenly remembered something, and with a spark of possibility, he quickly told Feng Jin.
"Earlier, Da Bao did see me practicing a set of boxing techniques and he pestered me to teach him. I refused. Could it be that Da Bao secretly learned it then?"
Feng Jin's gaze met Ling Mo Han's, and her face immediately showed surprise: "That is indeed possible."
She understood her son somewhat; this was precisely the kind of thing Da Bao would do. She had complete faith in Da Bao's cleverness.
"That is certainly a possibility."
Feng Jin sat down on the chair, fell silent for a moment, and a sense of worry began to creep into her heart. Her sons, Da Bao and Er Bao, were already so intelligent at such a young age. What would they be like when they grew older...
These two children would need careful guidance in the future. She was also afraid that a slight misstep could lead to them being taught improperly.
"Why the long face? Are you not feeling well?"
Noticing Feng Jin's distressed expression, Ling Mo Han asked with concern, his hand reaching out to rest on her slightly cool hand: "Your hands are so cold. Are you feeling cold?"
"I'm fine. I'm just worried about the children. Do you think we should find a tutor for them?"
"Why do you suddenly think of this? Didn't you always say they were too young, that this was their age to play, and that they shouldn't start studying too early?"
Her previous reluctance to have them study early was to give the children a happy childhood. But now, she felt that Da Bao and Er Bao were too intelligent. Some things they could understand even without being taught, so it might be better to find them a good master soon and start their education.
"What if I change my mind now? In any case, you find them a good master as soon as possible to teach them."
Feeling a little upset by his words, Feng Jin simply resorted to being unreasonable.
"Regardless, this matter is yours to handle. You figure out the rest. I expect to see a master the day after tomorrow."
He was their father, after all, and it was only natural for him to do these things. It was his responsibility to arrange it.
"As you wish. I'll make the arrangements."
Ling Mo Han said helplessly, as he truly didn't have the courage to provoke Feng Jin.
Finding a master wouldn't be difficult; he could simply post an announcement to the public.
"Then you better remember, don't forget the important task when you get busy."
It was often Ling Mo Han's busyness that caused him to forget things, so she felt compelled to remind him again, unable to shake off her concern.
"Don't worry."
"Daddy, Mommy, what were you talking about just now?"
Da Bao, his stomach full and satisfied, ran into the room with a happy look, his bright eyes darting between the two of them.
"Nothing much. Are you full?"
Feng Jin decided not to tell Da Bao about finding them a tutor just yet and changed the subject.
"I'm full. Mommy's cooking is so delicious."
He patted his round belly. Da Bao was still savoring the taste; Mommy's cooking was much better than what they served in the kitchen.
But Mommy was too lazy and rarely cooked for them. Having eaten now, he didn't know when he would have the chance to eat it again.
If Feng Jin could hear Da Bao's thoughts, she would surely be furious and give him a good scolding.
"Mommy, when are we going out to play?"
Da Bao's mind was still preoccupied with the lantern festival, and he looked expectantly at his mother and father, eager to go out.
Upon hearing this, Feng Jin paused slightly. When had she ever said they were going out to play? Her gaze fell on Ling Mo Han beside her, and she immediately understood what was going on.
She had to go along with his charade. She couldn't let Ling Mo Han lose face in front of their son and be known as untrustworthy. She would have to bear the blame for this.
"I don't want to take you now. You caused trouble, go back to your room and reflect."
"Mommy..."
Da Bao's little face drooped, and he looked on the verge of tears.
"Go back to your room!"
Feng Jin's angry reprimand echoed. This stubborn boy was proving difficult to manage when he put his mind to it.
"I don't want to... I don't want to!"
Da Bao plopped down on the ground and began to cry and make a scene: "I want to see the lanterns! Daddy promised me, I want to see the lanterns..."
Feng Jin was utterly exasperated by his unreasonable behavior and felt a wave of embarrassment. She covered her face and glared fiercely at Ling Mo Han, blaming him for the predicament.
"Can you stop crying first?"
Feng Jin knelt down, suppressing the urge to spank Da Bao, and spoke gently.
Da Bao temporarily stopped crying, his tear-filled eyes accusingly stating, "I want to... I want to see the lanterns."
Utterly speechless at Da Bao's persistence, Feng Jin gave a strained smile and yanked Da Bao, who was sitting on the ground, up. She then dragged him, half-pulling and half-carrying, and dumped him in front of Ling Mo Han.
