Chapter 719 Not Leaving Anymore

Lin Yuwei was so agitated that her words came out in broken fragments, taking a long time to form a complete sentence.

Her cries filled the air, and Feng Jin felt her head pounding. Was there any way to make Lin Yuwei stop crying?

If this continued, everyone in the mansion would hear her sobbing. Those unaware would think she had suffered some terrible injustice. Even if she had a hundred mouths, she couldn't explain.

"Can you stop crying for now..."

Feng Jin said helplessly, sighs following one after another. How long had she been crying? Wasn't she tired? She could at least stop to rest before continuing.

"Why don't you rest for a bit and cry later?"

After a pause, seeing that Lin Yuwei showed no signs of stopping, Feng Jin kindly suggested.

After venting, Lin Yuwei's emotions stabilized slightly. She sniffled and looked at Feng Jin, who was sitting beside her, and said with great grievance, "Sister Feng Jin, I don't know... I don't know what's wrong with me. I just want to cry..."

She truly couldn't control her emotions. Even though the matters were trivial, she felt incredibly wronged in her heart and couldn't help but cry.

"It's normal for your emotions to be unstable when you're pregnant. Don't just stay cooped up in your room all the time. Go out for a walk when you have time to clear your mind, and your mood will improve."

While it was true that pregnant women could experience mood swings, irritability, and sadness due to hormonal imbalances, Lin Yuwei's situation was indeed a bit severe. In a way, it could even be considered an illness and should be taken seriously.

Perhaps it was because she had been confined to her room for too long, without much contact with the outside world, leading to this emotional turmoil. It was a possibility.

However, with her current despondent mood, the baby in her womb would also feel its mother's sadness. If this continued, the child would be the first to be harmed.

Lin Yuwei lowered her head, silent. Now that her emotions had stabilized, she felt rather embarrassed remembering what had just happened. How could she have burst into tears so easily, and even be unable to stop when being consoled?

She found herself detestable in this state. How had she become like this?

Feng Jin, sensing her worry, reached out and held Lin Yuwei's hand, her voice gentle as she comforted, "It's alright, don't worry. After the child is born, everything will get better. Don't be afraid..."

Feng Jin's words were full of warmth. After hearing them, her previously gloomy mood improved significantly, and the oppression in her heart felt lighter.

"Your face is all streaky from crying, like a calico cat. Go wash your face and then rest."

"Then... then Sister Feng Jin, are you still leaving?"

Lin Yuwei asked tentatively, her eyes full of anticipation. She longed for Sister Feng Jin to stay and talk with her, but she also worried about inconveniencing Sister Feng Jin's important matters.

Her heart was filled with a mixture of conflict and indecision.

"I won't go back for now. Look at the time, curfew is approaching. We'll have to make do and share a room tonight."

She truly didn't wish to stay, but she worried that if she left, Lin Yuwei's emotions, which had just begun to stabilize, might collapse again, leading to more trouble. Thus, she had no choice but to make do here for the night.

As for Ling Mohan, she would have to send a servant back to inform him.

"That's wonderful... Sister Feng Jin, I have so many things I want to tell you."

Lin Yuwei's joy was evident on her face. She was like a child who had received candy, so happy she didn't know how to express it.

With a heart full of words, she could finally share them with Sister Feng Jin. Tonight, she finally had someone to talk to.

"Alright, I'll listen to you slowly. Go wash that messy face of yours first."

"I'll go right away." Lin Yuwei said, then stood up and hurried out.

After she left, Cai Qing walked over to Feng Jin with a worried expression and asked in a low voice, "Madam, are we really not returning to the mansion tonight? Are we staying here?"

"I'd like to go back, but given the current situation, how can I leave?"

Lin Yuwei was determined to keep her there. If she continued to refuse, she worried about further upsetting her and harming the child. Her heart couldn't bear it.

"Madam, will the young general and the two young masters make a fuss if they see you not returning?"

Cai Qing's words echoed Feng Jin's own concerns. The two children were older and didn't have the habit of needing her to sleep with them, so they would be fine.

The more troublesome one would be Ling Mohan. Who knew how much of a scene he would create if he found she wasn't home.

"There's nothing we can do about it. You go send someone back to the mansion with a message. We'll return tomorrow morning."

Circumstances dictated it; there was no other choice. She could only hope Ling Mohan would be understanding this time and wouldn't throw a tantrum.

"Yes, Madam." Cai Qing acknowledged and, as she stepped out the door, she bumped right into Lin Yuwei, who had returned. She quickly bowed, "This servant greets the Princess."

"Cai Qing, why are you out here when you should be by Sister Feng Jin's side?"

"Princess, this servant is going to send someone back to the mansion to deliver a message, so that the young general knows the madam is not returning tonight."

It was better to send the message sooner rather than later, lest the young general worry and get angry when he couldn't find the madam.

Lin Yuwei felt a little embarrassed upon hearing this, as it was because of her that Sister Feng Jin had to stay.

"Then go, and be careful."

"This servant takes her leave."

Lin Yuwei pushed open the door and returned to the room, only to see Feng Jin flipping through a book.

"Sister Feng Jin, you're burning the lamp to read at night. Aren't you afraid of ruining your eyesight?"

Her mother had warned her not to stay up late reading or doing needlework at night, as it would damage her eyes.

"It's fine, I'll only read for a short while."

She was simply bored and happened to see a book on the desk, so she picked it up and read a couple of pages.

Feng Jin then placed the book back on the desk and looked at Lin Yuwei, her gaze assessing. She was already five or six months pregnant, yet her belly seemed quite large. A hint of doubt flickered in her mind.

"Sit down first, let me feel your pulse."

Lin Yuwei didn't think much of it and sat down as Feng Jin instructed, then extended her hand.
