Chapter 624: Chapter 624: He Has Really Changed a Lot
Thinking about how Gu Sheng had been yielding and tolerant these past days, it instead made her bolder and more audacious, giving him cold looks all day, yet he endured it all, energetically taking care of her daily needs.
She seems to have gone too far.
Since she can’t drive him away or live the peaceful life she wants, why not try accepting him and living this peaceful life together.
In a foreign country, having a relative by her side, no matter how bad he is, seeing him gives her much peace of mind.
As Gu Yao was thinking, Gu Sheng had already bought the ingredients for tonight’s dinner and was preparing to check out.
Turning back, he saw Gu Yao holding a tomato, seemingly in a daze looking at him, or perhaps looking elsewhere. Gu Sheng approached and called her.
"Yaoyao?"
"Huh?" Gu Yao snapped back to reality.
"What are you daydreaming about?" Gu Sheng smiled, reaching out to take the tomato from her hand.
His two dimples were very charming.
"Should we add another dish? Stir-fried tomato and egg, or tomato and egg soup?" Gu Sheng asked.
Gu Yao shook her head: "No need, it’s just the two of us, we can’t eat that much."
Gu Yao had become accustomed to Gu Sheng calling her Yaoyao. Although sometimes recalling that time he drove her towards the sea would give her goosebumps, it had gotten much better.
"Then tomorrow, I’ll cook it for you tomorrow."
"Okay." Gu Yao nodded.
The two bought their things and went back to their place.
Gu Sheng washed some fruits for Gu Yao, asking her to watch TV in the living room first, then he plunged into the kitchen.
He even closed the door.
Looking at the pile of ingredients in front of him, Gu Sheng was momentarily at a loss, eventually flipping open the recipe and following the steps.
The kitchen door was pushed open, and Gu Yao walked in.
"Let me help you."
"No need, girls shouldn’t be in the kitchen, just wait outside, it’ll be ready soon. If you’re hungry, find some snacks in the fridge to tide you over."
"Alright then."
Gu Yao could only retreat from the kitchen, watching TV while waiting.
The kitchen door wasn’t tightly closed, and the occasional clatter made Gu Yao keep glancing back.
She never thought before that her second brother would ever cook for her one day.
As time ticked away, Gu Sheng almost wished he had more than two hands.
After a whole hour and a half, Gu Sheng finally emerged from the kitchen with two plates of dishes that looked quite presentable.
"Yaoyao, go wash your hands for dinner."
"Okay, coming." Gu Yao stood up, first going into the kitchen to help bring out another plate of dishes, set the tableware, and only then washed her hands and sat down.
Taking the half-bowl of rice Gu Sheng handed over, Gu Yao looked at the simple three dishes on the table, thinking about the meals she had for lunch in the past few days,
She thought he must have gone to buy ingredients right after dropping her off at school every morning, then started preparing lunch.
"You must be starving, how’s it taste?"
"Getting better and better." It wasn’t just to console him, it truly was.
It was evident that Gu Sheng was really putting a lot of effort into making each meal well.
"That’s good, I’m still a bit inexperienced. After I make it a few more times, you won’t have to wait so long."
"Mm."
"Eat more, you’re too thin. Don’t let Mom and Dad blame me for not taking good care of you when we go home for the New Year." Gu Sheng put some food on Gu Yao’s plate.
"...Mm."
As the two were eating, Gu Yao’s phone on the table suddenly chimed.
