All the things were tidied up.
Li Weili also heated up the food and boiled dumplings.
The five of them sat down to eat. Han Lushí asked if Grandma was feeling unwell.
Mother Li shook her head, "I'm tired from the car ride. I'll rest tonight, and I'll be fine tomorrow."
"You are one of the Li family now, and we are all family. Don't be too formal, just relax."
Han Lushí's heart finally settled. Grandma was much more affectionate than his father.
Li Weili served him food, "Eat."
"Okay," Han Lushí gave Li Weili a gentle smile.
After the meal, Han Lushí voluntarily cleared the table and washed the dishes. He said he couldn't cook, and since Lili had cooked, it was his turn to wash dishes.
Mother Li was even more pleased and waved to her granddaughter, "Go to the kitchen and teach Lushí. When a man is willing to do chores, a woman should teach him. It's a harmonious life."
When the two entered the kitchen, Ouyang Meihua approached her mother-in-law:
"What do you mean by saying Lushí is a member of the Li family?"
Mother Li tapped her forehead, "After I told you, you must keep your mouth shut. Lushí is an orphan, and he's willing to marry into the Li family."
"Didn't you see how nervous he was? He's never had a family, so he probably won't know how to interact with one."
"I told you to keep your mouth shut, meaning don't mention his status of marrying into the family. He's a sensitive child. As long as he's good to Lili, that's all that matters."
Ouyang Meihua finally understood, "So, you're planning to have Lili stay home and take care of you in her old age?"
"Otherwise?" Mother Li retorted, "You have Xiaoyu with you. Who is left for Tiantian and Zhengguo? With our family's large business, who would be a suitable husband for Lili to marry into?"
"Hehehe," Ouyang Meihua chuckled, "Mom, you're getting ambitious."
"How can I not be ambitious?" Mother Li held her forehead, "My head is still a bit dizzy. Later, ask Lili to teach me how to use the water heater. I want to take a bath, I'm covered in dust."
Li Weili and Han Lushí washed the dishes and tidied up the kitchen before arranging accommodations.
Seeing the master bedroom, which was over forty square meters, Grandma Li refused to stay, finding the room too large.
However, the other two guest rooms were also thirty square meters. She chose to stay in the room opposite the master bedroom:
"The master bedroom is for your parents. Arrange the other guest room for your uncle and aunt."
After everything was arranged, Grandma Li took her luggage into the room, "Lili, teach me how to use the water heater. I want to take a bath."
Li Weili took her grandmother and aunt into the bathroom to use the electric water heater.
Upon seeing that it didn't require turning on valves like a gas water heater, Grandma Li shooed them out, "I understand. You all go out and make the beds."
Ouyang Meihua helped Li Weili make the beds. Han Lushí followed the whole time, helping with putting on the duvet covers.
Ouyang Meihua nodded secretly, seeing that he seemed a bit slow but was willing to learn and help, which was much better than most men.
After the two guest rooms were made, Ouyang Meihua also urged them away:
"We're tired too. After washing up, we'll rest. Don't worry about us."
"Don't worry about us tomorrow morning either. If we wake up early, we'll cook for ourselves. If not, we'll wait for lunch to eat together."
Returning to the secondary bedroom, Li Weili and Han Lushí still felt a bit awkward.
They politely deferred to each other for washing up.
Li Weili couldn't help but smile, "Han Lushí, if we keep this up, it will only get more awkward."
Han Lushí reached out and touched her hair, "Lili, call me Brother Han or Brother Lu. Don't call me by my full name; it sounds distant and might expose me."
"Brother Lu," Li Weili immediately changed her address as instructed.
"Mm," Han Lushí responded, "You go wash first. From now on, at home, no matter what, you come first."
With Han Lushí saying this, Li Weili no longer hesitated.
After they had both washed up and were in the same bed, under the same quilt, Han Lushí stopped being polite and pulled the person who was pretending to be asleep into his arms:
"Grandma brought so many chickens and rabbits for you to recuperate."
"After you graduate and sort out the company, we'll have our wedding."
"Once we have the wedding, it will be official. Let's have a period of adjustment first."
"I'm here to build our relationship, not to satisfy physical needs. Don't be afraid."
Feeling Li Weili's body relax, Han Lushí kissed her hair, "Let's sleep. Goodnight."
Li Weili's lips curved upwards, and she leaned back, finding a comfortable position before closing her eyes to sleep.
Listening to her shallow breaths, Han Lushí rested his chin on her soft hair. This must be happiness.
His heart was full, wishing time would freeze at this moment forever.
The next morning, Han Lushí quietly got up, washed up, and left the room. He saw Mother Li waving at him from the kitchen.
"Grandma," Han Lushí entered the kitchen.
Mother Li pointed to the porridge and boiled eggs on the stove, "Take them out and eat before you go."
Han Lushí's heart felt a surge of emotion, "Thank you, Grandma."
"You're welcome," Mother Li shook her head, "Eat quickly. If it's inconvenient for you on your mission, don't rush back. I'll take care of Lili here."
Han Lushí felt reassured, "Thank you for your trouble, Grandma."
After breakfast, he thought for a moment and went back to the bedroom to gently wake Li Weili:
"Lili, I'm leaving. Grandma is here with you, so I'm at ease. I'll come back after I finish this mission."
"The villa complex that I, as the boss, have undertaken, you should not sell or hand over for now."
"What's wrong?" Li Weili sat up abruptly.
Han Lushí reached out and tidied her messy hair, "There should be major quality issues. You should temporarily hold onto the buyer's money to reduce some losses."
"Okay, I understand," Li Weili nodded, "Our houses are never presold, so the problem will be much smaller."
"I'm leaving," Han Lushí lowered his head and kissed her forehead, "You go back to sleep."
"I'll see you off."
Li Weili tried to get out of bed, but Han Lushí pushed her back under the covers, "Don't see me off. It will make you sad, and I'll be reluctant to leave."
As he said this, he tucked the blanket tightly around Li Weili's neck.
Li Weili smiled and nodded at him, "Okay, I'll lie down for a while longer. You go back to work."
Listening to the goodbyes outside the bedroom and the closing of the suite door, Li Weili threw off the quilt and got out of bed. She was going to accompany Grandma.
Calling her granddaughter out, Mother Li beckoned her to sit down and eat breakfast, "Lushí ate breakfast before he left."
"Later, when your uncle gets up, I'll ask him to kill a chicken and stew it for you at noon."
"Mm-hmm," Li Weili nodded, "Grandma, today is Monday, and I have to go to work. My working hours are from nine to six, with a lunch break from 11:30 to 12:30. I have weekends off."
"I know," Mother Li nodded, "I'll wait until your weekends to take me out for a stroll."
"Your uncle and aunt are going out with Ouyang Lei, they won't be staying long."
"Ask Xiaoyu to come for lunch too. Is An'an working here or back at school?"
"They are both at the company," Li Weili thought for a moment and said, "I'll ask them if they want to move in."
"Yes," Mother Li agreed, "There are still rooms upstairs, right? Ask them to move in and eat together."
"I don't care about other times, but during my stay here, you all will come back for meals."
"Grandma," Li Weili felt a pang of reluctance. She hadn't come home once in the past four years, and she didn't want to.
Now, just hearing Grandma mention leaving in the future made her feel sad, "Grandma, aren't you going back? Can you live with me?"
"No, you can't," Mother Li refused, "After attending your second brother's wedding in May, I'll go back. Your sister-in-law is pregnant with twins. If I don't go back to look after them, I won't be at ease."
"After your sister-in-law finishes her confinement, if you and Lushí haven't returned home, I'll come to accompany you again."
"I'll stay until the twelfth lunar month, then I'll go back to prepare for the New Year's goods. You should also go back with Lushí to celebrate the New Year."
"Your sister-in-law is pregnant with twins again?" Li Weili was surprised.
"Yes, yes, she's pregnant with twins again," Mother Li replied casually, "Ever since you started school, you haven't been home. Jiqing and Jixiang don't even recognize you."
Li Weili nodded, "Yes, I'll definitely go back this year for the New Year."
Mother Li raised her hand and pointed at her, "It's only the seventeenth of the first lunar month today, and you're telling me you'll go back for the New Year. You've pinpointed eleven months from now in one sentence."
"Hehe," Li Weili gave a silly laugh. She really didn't have time.
