Chapter 871: Chapter 871: An Ingenious Gift (Part 2)
Gu Annan’s lips curved into a slight smile.
“I didn’t expect the old master to understand you so well.” Yue Siqing’s eyes were deep as he stood aside, “He seemed to have predicted this day long ago. I thought you would be upset that he only wants you to manage Gu Corp steadily.”
With a “click,” the door opened.
Gu Annan’s thin lips voiced a sentence, “Anyway, ‘Yaoye’ will be a burden for you, big brother. I’m not interested. Wanwan likes Manchester, so I’ll stay in Manchester.”
“You’re just going to throw everything at me and not care?” Yue Siqing frowned.
The one who replied had a relaxed tone, “Big brother, you can do it. I’ll visit occasionally, but don’t take up too much of my time.”
Earlier, it was said that he gave up the scepter for a woman, letting Cesar take advantage of the situation. Later, he pulled Cesar down because of the same woman.
It was thought that he had the resolve to return, but who knew…
Yue Siqing lightly shook his head.
The reason turned out to be just because that woman likes Manchester.
Back then, the old master hoped his burden would be lighter, which coincidentally aligned with his current pursuits.
Yue Siqing took another puff on his cigarette, looked deeply into the corridor, without comment.
The hearts dispersed.
“Ah, brother, it’s actually you!” Gu Anjin’s soft voice was both surprised and regretful.
“Who else would it be?” Gu Annan walked into the room, “You should go back.”
“Brother, let me talk with sister-in-law a bit more! Besides, we haven’t seen each other for so long. Are you ruthlessly kicking me out like this?”
Gu Annan glanced at her pleading but his eyes clearly seemed to be looking outside the door.
“Talk about it tomorrow if you have something to say. What time is it now? If your sister-in-law wants to talk, she talks to me.”
Gu Anjin was helplessly driven out of the room, and once outside, she saw the man waiting at the door.
Yue Siqing stood tall beside, slender fingertips holding a cigarette.
She looked at him but said nothing.
“When are you leaving?” Yue Siqing spoke, extinguishing the cigarette butt in the nearby trash can, “Tomorrow? The day after?”
“What if I want to come back?” Gu Anjin had her hands behind her back, like a child, plotting her little thoughts, “This is my home!”
“If you decide to come back, let me know what things you want to bring, I’ll have someone arrange them for you.” The cool voice carried no emotion.
“What if I don’t want to come back?”
Yue Siqing had no objections either, “We’ll leave after the old lady’s birthday banquet together.”
“So, I can do whatever I want?”
“Anything, as long as you’re happy.” His indifferent gaze slid over her small face, looking elsewhere.
Gu Anjin looked at him, realizing he was always like this, neither too cold nor too warm, neither too far nor too close.
No matter how good he was to her, it was only because he promised grandpa he would take good care of her.
Her conflicted steps walked to the door, then turned back to see he was still standing in the same spot, appearing somewhat lonely in the lamplight.
Yue Siqing didn’t move, intending to watch her return to her room.
“Go back and rest; we’ll leave tomorrow night.”
Gu Anjin experienced a mix of emotions momentarily, and summoned the courage, running a few steps forward.
Her hands tightly embraced his strong waist, chin raised, pressing against his chest, stubbornly looking at the person she missed day and night.
“Siqing…”
In the next moment, his body stiffened, and with a stern expression, he lifted her from him, and directly sent her back to the door, opening it.
Those eyes, in an instant, were fierce as if they could drip blood.
“You’re! You’re not a man!” Gu Anjin stomped her foot in anger, slamming the door shut.
