The Buddhist sect is renowned for its eighteen Arhats, and Jigong is among them as the Dragon Subduing Arhat.
One's title often hints at the kind of person they are; given the title "Dragon Slayer," it's evident that he possesses boundless mana and excels in subduing dragons and vanquishing demons.
Put simply, he can fight and brawl.
At this time, it was approximately ten in the morning, yet Lin'an City was engulfed in darkness. Occasionally, lightning streaked across the sky, like branches hanging overhead, illuminating the world in a blinding white. Amidst the white glow, raindrops on the lake surface fell like pearls slipping off a string.
Only after the glow faded did the thunder roar, sounding as if the chariots of heavenly gods were passing high above the vault of heaven.
In this apocalyptic scene, two beams of Buddha light pierced through heaven and earth, blasting two holes in the dark clouds.
"Thus have I heard: once, Bhagavan, entered the Divine Power Great Brightness treasury, abided in Sanmei Zhengshou, where all Tathagatas' glorious light dwells..."
The gong resonated like gold, the wooden fish clamored to the sky, and Buddha's chants rose in waves.
Countless golden scriptures floated in the Buddha light, appearing from a distance like two towering Scripture Pillars.
"Sister!" Xiaoqing cried out in pain as the Buddhist chants poured directly into her forehead and heart, nearly melting her.
Bai Suzhen hurriedly grabbed her hand and transferred her own mana to Xiaoqing, who then gasped for air as if she had just climbed out of the water.
Both were shaken as they looked up at the sky.
The monks from Lingyin Temple and Jingci Temple layered defenses, the two streams of Buddha light slowly spread, seemingly intent on dispersing the dark clouds. Half of West Lake was already bathing in sunlight, the sky a brilliant azure.
Ruyi lay in the flawless palm of Yang Qinglan. With a soft breath on Ruyi, the clouds above instantly thickened tenfold, and the rain no longer fell like rain but more like a waterfall.
Crashing sounds filled the air as the waters of West Lake churned, inundating most of Lin'an City with a roar.
If it hadn't been for the heavy rains over the past three days, the citizens would have long been frightened away; now, this downpour was a disaster, with corpses floating and drifting.
The two paths of Buddha light were squeezed as thin as strands of hair, struggling desperately between heaven and earth.
"Amitabha Buddha."
The lake water surged with the blast of air, and Li Changzhou flung his sleeve, releasing a stream of Earth Element True Light.
The Earth Element True Light grew with the wind, spreading out like an apricot-yellow fabric.
For every inch the Earth Element True Light grew, the Buddha Bell lengthened by a foot, neither yielding nor retreating.
"Let's see whether this Buddha Bell or 'Xi Rang' is more formidable," Li Changzhou said with a smile as he poured himself a cup of wine, letting the two forces struggle.
The Earth Element True Light enveloped much of Lin'an City, which in turn was covered by the Buddha Bell; both sides remained locked in their contest.
Bai Suzhen and Xiaoqing were restless with worry. Whether it was the mysterious and unpredictable Earth Element True Light or the powerful Buddha Bell, if either should fall, all of Lin'an City would be destroyed in an instant.
"Amitabha Buddha, esteemed donors, since you have come for me, why should the citizens suffer?"
Jigong Monk had two faces: one of a mad beggar wandering the mortal world, and the other of the Arhat True Body of the Dragon Subduing Arhat.
At this moment, he stood thirty feet tall, radiating golden light, revealing his Arhat True Body.
The Buddha Bell shrank, spiraling back to Jingci Temple, and the color of the Earth Element True Light faded, until it disappeared. The scene that had nearly destroyed Lin'an City vanished like a dream.
"It wasn't us who made the people suffer; it was you, Dao Jigong," Li Changzhou stood up and walked to the prow of the boat, gazing at Lingyin Temple on the north mountain. "Had you emerged sooner, there would have been no need for this three-day storm. Fortunately, it's not too late. Dragon Subduing Arhat, if you surrender now, I assure you that Lin'an City will face no more turmoil beyond this three-day deluge."
The two spoke to each other across the distance between the lake and the mountain, their voices echoing to the heavens.
"I am the Dragon Subduing Arhat, versed only in subduing demons and eradicating evil, not in bowing down to them."
"To think you're an Arhat and yet unaware of Buddha's act of feeding his flesh to the eagle. Don't you understand that?"
"Twisting the Buddhist teachings, if you do not enter hell, who will?" The Dragon Subduing Arhat threw a punch.
Ang!
Accompanied by an exuberant and lofty dragon chant, a golden Heavenly Dragon filled the sky in an instant, its tail still on the Arhat's arm while its head the size of a mountain peak lunged towards Li Changzhou.
"I have a dragon, too. Let's see who the True Dragon is!" Li Changzhou laughed heartily, his qi-blood surging outward, ascending to the clouds.
"Ao!"
A white Gray Dragon dove down from the clouds, biting into the golden Heavenly Dragon at its vital point.
The Heavenly Dragon howled in pain, twisting its body to bite back. The two massive dragons battled fiercely between heaven and earth, stirring the winds and the rain.
The Dragon Subduing Arhat threw another punch.
Ang! Another golden dragon appeared!
Roar! Eight Azure Tigers leaped out from behind Li Changzhou, dragon and tiger collided head-on.
Bang!
The waters of West Lake almost boiled over, and the surrounding mountains trembled like blocks of wood.
"Thinking such minor skills can send me to hell, you're still lacking..."
Before Li Changzhou could finish, the Dragon Subduing Arhat descended from Lingyin Temple, a Heavenly Dragon forming with each step; it took ten steps for him to reach West Lake.
Ten Heavenly Dragons encircled the 6.38 square kilometers of West Lake's waterscape, leaving no space untaken!
The Dragon Subduing Arhat moved his hand towards Li Changzhou, and between his fingers lay the force of ten Heavenly Dragons. If this palm pressed down on a lit rocket, it could forcefully push the ascending rocket back down to earth.
